Lyrics
I'd say love was a magical thing
I'd say love would keep us from pain
Had I been there
Had I been there
I I would promise you all of my life
Hut to lose you would cut like a knife
So I don't dare
No I don't dare
'Cause I've never come close
In all of these years
You are the only one to stop my rears
And I'm so scared
I'm so scared
Take me back in time
Maybe I can forget
Turn a different corner
And we never would have met
Would you care?
I don't understand it
For you it's a breeze
Little by little
You've brought me to my knees
Don't you care?
No I've never come close
In all of these years
You are the only one to stop my tears
I'm so scared of this love
And if all that there is
Is this fear of being used
I should go back to being lonely and confused
If I could, I would, I swear.

I am a 100% straight dude. And every time, I hear this, well, I cry. I am a country hick, a fireman almost all my life. But this song breaks my heart. Love lost. Love gained. Everything is just so confusing when we search our true feeling. And we realize that we made mistakes that were not part of any of this. Thank God for the people that forgave our mistakes and loved us anyway!

Back in the 80's i was quite the emotional teenager. I cried a lot looking back, heartbroke too many times. As ive got older the tears are less, it takes a lot to make me cry. But even now, listening to george, he somehow manages to make me feel. Life can harden us, but always and forever inside is the child that needs love. We should never forget that. If you read this and lifes been difficult i send to you love and hope. God bless us all ❤

As a 29 year old, I have no words to express how grateful I'am to have discovered this masterpiece. To the people who grew up in the 80s, you guys were lucky. I wish we had music like this now in days. Yes, I know some people will argue, and say we have good music now in days, which may be true a little, but not music that touches your soul. Totally agree and glad you realise it, I grew up in the 80's and people wrote love songs, soul, disco etc or songs that commented on matters of concern. I would say the rap industry in particular is responsible for 'lowering the tone' with its references to money, ho's and sex, not saying its all gone bad but it doesn't exactly help matters, music should elevate the spirit , bring joy to the soul even if it is a melancholic beauty as in ' A different corner' . RIP George Michael.

There is no way today's young people will get it. Being a teenager in NYC during the 80s was the best experience ever and we don't say that like old people when they reminisce about the old days. I swear to you all it was the best. I am 52 now and if I had a choice I would do it all over again. No cell phones, no internet, all analog, and all CRT TVs but it was phenomenal.

I’m currently 17 and I hate the new music we have today. In the 80s people had it going on. No phones nothing just music and fun now today it’s just social media and stupid followers and likes I hate what it’s become. I wished I could’ve been born in 70s so I could experience the 80s as a teen like my parents did. I love George micheal I’ve heard many songs in my life but George micheal has to be My Top Top favorite. May you R. I. P. You angel.

I swear it's like he came straight from Heaven in this video. All dressed in white like that, he looks like an angel, but he's missing one thing: the wings. He has since gained those, but the world has lost a man whose talent, beauty, and heart can never be matched or replaced. I'll freely admit that I have a certain level of guilt for not knowing what an incredible artist, and man, George was in life (I've only really "discovered" his music in these past few weeks); a guilt that makes me wonder if I have the right to call myself a fan of his now that he's gone. Somewhere in Heaven, I'd like to imagine that there's a place where our dearly departed stars can see the tributes that we post on social media and those that we erect at their homes or other places of significance in their lives, so that they may know how much they were loved, something that I feel George never truly knew until the (6) years immediately preceding his death. George, I hope you're resting easy. Your memory and music will surely remain in the hearts of your fans, both lifelong and newborn (like me), for the rest of time. ☺💜💔

After a few seconds of this song starting, I had to sit down..... stopping everything I was doing..... and just listen. Time stood still, as I was led to another reality. This song is one of my all time GM favourites. It is a timeless masterpiece along with my other favourites Careless Whisper, Last Christmas and Jesus to a Child. I grew up listening to Wham! and George Michael and I still listen to his music. The world has lost an icon, a legend, a genius and a truly lovely and compassionate man who secretly gave millions of £s of his personal wealth to charities and the poor, even personally volunteering to help and feed the homeless in London. RIP George we will miss you.

His songs are like gold compared to the garbage blaring on TV , radio etc. His songs had a message and your heart understood that right away. Rest In Peace , you are missed sooooo much.

Yes. I'm telling you, I can't remember the last time I heard of an Artist who wasn't discovered on a TV Talent Show, or The Internet, I have no qualms about it but I listen to "Old School" Music from the 1950's and the Children of this Generation couldn't hold a candle to those Veterans and Legends.

So right, I picked up the message through many of his songs, the gaydar was working, my straight mate refused to accept what I was saying

Beautiful and heartfelt isn't it. He wrote with a lot of emotion...a soundtrack to good times and bad in our lives. But sadly, a deeply troubled man who never really came to terms with life or his talent. RIP

If the comments on his being gay were left out...then the comments would show the appreciation for the song and his voice. That's what music is about...being special ... and pleasant to hear. Without a doubt... he's a wonderful artist.
