Did you know that he also said he wrote this song and Edge Of Heaven about Pat Fernandes the backup singer for Wham he dated for years? He admits the songs are connected to the same woman but not to her name but those around him have said it was about her. She finally totally broke up with him in 1986 as she hated his megastar status but supposedly they still loved each other. Back then we all didn't realize every song he wrote was about a real life experience so the song makes me feel its depth even more now that I know it was straight from a personal experience he was living.
