Since the first time I heard that song is great, my eyes are filled with tears, what a sadness that Amy Winehouse, Whitney Houston and George Michael have left, they do not know the lack that they make me, each new album of them, they fulfilled my demanding music tastes. It is likely that Christmas is for someone, or for many (including me and even it was for George, I guess), the perfect synthesis of nostalgia ... apparently inexplicable melancholy of a removed origin, something that can no longer be and will no longer be, desire without the wished object, love without the beloved, unfinished work of art, venial theory of absence, probably ... It is therefore the nostalgia of the regretted happiness of the origins, of a mythical golden age from which, through a cruel play of deforming mirrors (our moods) we see and live again complete in ourselves at the very beginning of our pure being up to an unspecified point, that first cursed act in which our castle of certainties was suddenly and mockingly swept away by destiny, by the unexpected, by chaos. Losing everything in one fell swoop we suddenly found ourselves fragile, vulnerable, naked, thus coming to "real life", "dies natalis" ... it is then probable too that Christmas is the moment in which, better than others, we can feel this vibration inside our souls, the exact figure of man's eternal condemnation to the promiscuity of feelings, emotions, inner states, our very condition of being human in perpetual balance between mud and stars. Nothing is only in one way, there is no pure joy or an absolute pain, a perfect representation and another to censor, there is neither "before" nor "after", if not in the history that we tell of ourselves, but everything is tremendously worth as it is. When we are able to understand it deeply, we will also have the strength to accept it and perhaps begin to live more humanly ... in the loving memory of G.M.
