GSP already hinted that he would move up by the time Rory is ready to challenge for the belt. GSP first trained with Rory when he was like 18 or something iirc. They will not be fighting.

At Rorys age Rory is better then GSP was, but GSP took elite training to another level, Rory still has a long way to go to get to GSP's level, but the potential is there. I don't see them fightin like Rashard and Jones, there's no egos in this camp, just everyone helping each other out. Great fighters always working on getting better

I wonder if Rory and GSP would ever fight??? Rory seems to be 1 or 2 fights away I think from a title shot. I personally believe GSP will still have the belt when Rory gets that shot, i just wonder if they'll fight each other, or move weight classes??? @cleve101 Theres no loophole IMO,if the other fighter have a hand or a knee touching the ground (even for half a sec),it will be an illegal blow. But if you clipped him in the head while he was going for a TD,and before one of his limb touched the ground,then its all good. And you're right,this TD is very hard to pull-off against a good MMA fighter

Rory is a good submission guy, I think Rory can take the belt from GSP. as long as he's not thrown in there too early. Like he already destroyed Condit, but condit pulled a win off at the final seconds.

I only bring up the the difference between life or death street combat vs MMA combat so that the inexperienced person doesn't make the mistake of thinking "oh, if GSP is teaching this move it must be good" I think these days those of us with real combat experience falsely assume that "Everyone knows that" When the truth is far from that. @Marticorena44 Keep in mind he is teaching here. During a match you get set up with punches and feints or a solid tie-up, and the low single comes in quicker, it gets harder to kick someone. Not to say it doesn't happen tho, I remember laughing my ass off when KJ Noons kneed Nick Diaz in the face.

Well first of all Rory is only 22, and at that age GSP hadn't made it to the UFC yet. And Rory's beaten everyone pretty easily except Carlos Condit, who he fought when he was 20 (when GSP was just starting MMA). And people forget Rory was winning that fight, and if he'd only held on for 10 more seconds he would've beaten Condit, and maybe wouldve fought NIck Diaz for the title instead. GSP's takedowns have always been great but Rory's standup will be better

@TreyMMA Sure is one hell of a fighter, but top 10 im not sure. Diaz, Condit, GSP, Ellenburger, Shields, Kos, Fitch, Sanchez, Woodley, and Ebersole are a little ahead of him in my opinion, but that being said im sure Rory can beat a few of those guys in the top 10 just hasn't had a chance yet...if he can dominate Condit for two rounds, cant wait to start seeing him fight some of the high ranked dudes.

After watching the BJ Penn fight, Rory still has holes in his games. The kid has potential, but he's not even close to GSP's level. Rory is good but he lacks GSP's athleticism and explosiveness. Before facing Condit in a rematch, Rory should face someone like Koscheck, Fitch, Kampman, or Ellenberger to guage where's at. I wouldn't be surprised if loses to any of those 4.

The only dude i've ever seen who did more damage to Nate than Nate did to him. His striking is almost as good as GSP's right now, and in 3 years forget about it... if they ever fight, GSP had better work on his takedowns
