@@LambertBowden56that was him just fucking with people,you can see him try to hide a smirk suring the interview as much as possible ,GSP knew what he was doing,he's not a bully but he will gaslight his opponent's into underestimating him or being confused by him, the problem is bot everyone played head games with him like this,the guys that respected him but focused more on their own strengths than messing with George's head did way better in fights with him,George handles bullies like nothing but he fought murderer after murderer in their physical primes.

people underestimate simple weightlifting because it doesn't have the appeal of doing silly less efficient exercises and workouts that look cool. if you can squat heavy, press heavy, and deadlift a lot while maintaining mobility and cardio, you're going to be a hell of an athlete, and the strength and power you generate from those exercises will carry over a lot more when practicing your striking and ground game.

IDONTGIVEAFUUUCKKKKK mike tyson, evander holyfield, brock lesnar, Mariusz Pudzianowski, Jérôme Le Banner all have done well with considerable muscle mass and strength. george st pierre also has good muscle mass compared to others in his weight class and he was dominant.

I'm saying top level strongmen inside MMA. Everyone that you've mentioned are good because they're genetically gifted, but are not good examples of technical fighters. GSP is def. one of the best technically sound fighters ever.
@SchmidtyFilms
@SchmidtyFilms 8 жыл бұрын
IDONTGIVEAFUUUCKKKKK but that's what i mean with my original post. the muscle mass helps them a lot and gives them an advantage. you get that muscle mass through proper strength training which includes heavy squatting, pressing, and pulling. people say being strong doesn't make you a good fighter, but it definitely does give you an advantage.
@frankpansier5930
@frankpansier5930 8 жыл бұрын
Well it all depends on the circumstances. More musclemass till a certain point gives quicker fatigue. If you look at Alistair Overeem he went back a lot of weight to improve his conditioning.

@perfectsplit5515 It’s what I should have done. I got bullied as a kid, I was strong, athletic, agile and explosive. I also had a motive confidence in my body, I could get in and out of perilous climbing or situations which means I had isometric and explosive strength enough. All components to at least feel confident to stand up for myself. But I never did. I’m 30 now, getting into mma and it’s therapeutic oddly enough

Conor Mcgregor and GSP are like ying yang.They are completely opposite.GSP isn't afraid to confess his fears,his anxieties and vulnerabilities before his fights and gives praise and respect to his opponents and doesn't look past his opponents and faces them as big threats whereas Conor looks past his opponents,plans ahead,sees them just as stepping stones,puts them out of the way,doesn't show fear,is actually super relaxed on fight day,is so confident he will win that he even announces his afterparty and next fight before the fight has even started.

At the end of this video he shows a one of the reasons as to why he was so dominant throughout his career. He lost came and back better each of the two times he lost. A match between him and McGregor would be an insanely different collision of attitudes as far as the way they conduct themselves in the treatment of opponents. Conor would be hard pressed to avoid being grappled and struck on the ground f course against GSP, but on the feet too he would get struck as GSP has an excellent super fast shot with his unique Karate style of striking and that superman punch, kick combo is so accurate. The UFC have dropped the ball so many times, and with a guy like GSP it is blindly embarrassing to not negotiate with the highest earner in his time not too long ago.

Agreed. I can barely do the Yoga Firefly Pose, and I still have to use the traction between my arms and legs just to minimally do the pose. But I see female Olympic gymnasts do it with such ease, without even using the leg/arm contact. Gymnastics probably requires the greatest pound-for-pound strength out of any athletic discipline.
