College Football is a bit different imo though. Will I say Michigan is definitely better? Absolutely not. That being said, looking at teams generically, replacing a QB is normally taken into that equation. Colin’s entire opinion of a football team is strictly based on the quarterback and that’s why he’s always down on UGA. Imagine how good of a system, roster, and coaching Georgia has to have to win back to back natty’s with a quarterback that most other top 10 teams wouldn’t trade theirs for. This isn’t the NFL where the rosters are usually so close that the quarterback is the difference. Georgia has backups that would start for other teams in the top 10.

@@derekjones5728 sure assuming he pans out I’d probably take 25 year old McCarthy over 2022 Bennett. His number are always going to look good playing Michigans schedule, he played one legit defense all year againt Penn state and had decent but lackluster game. That not withstanding, I’m not sure by what measure Michigan is even close to Georgia or whatever cowherd is going on about. They got handled by them last year, and this year Michigan couldn’t even beat Tcu who then got body bagged by Georgia. I agree with klatt here, styles make fights, Ohio state was evidently better equipped to beat Georgia than anyone else, Michigan would not have been able to play its style of football against Georgia.

I’m a UGA fan so feel free to take my opinion with a grain of salt. I think Michigan plays into UGA’s strengths. They’ve based their identity on a physical run game that opens up the pass. I don’t think you can beat UGA with that philosophy. They have to find some weapons on the outside and open up the passing game to hang with the Dawgs.
@dallassavage7128
@dallassavage7128 9 ай бұрын
OSU showed you have to throw big time to keep up with them. Michigan lost to TCU. They would have been crushed by georgia. OSU needs to be more physical at defense like Michigan. You’re not being biased at all. Not a fan of either and I 100% agree. I suppose if Georgia went up to Ann Arbor in November in some snow, I’d give UM a puncher’s chance…but on a neutral field/ playoff game context-uh, no. Colin is a weird dude that d-rides the new trendy teams; the blue bloods that have announced “we are back!” Until of course, reality reminds them that they’re not that good.
@kbirdmontgomery8181
@kbirdmontgomery8181 9 ай бұрын
@@dallassavage7128agree completely… the same argument I’ve been making all along. Michigan folks want to talk about being back but can’t compete let alone win in the post season with the layout of their roster and playing schematics. They beat OSU 2 years in a row but when it comes to beating the best (which UGA is right now) you can’t play the same game because they simply just do it better than you. That’s why teams like Bama and OSU have either beaten them or put themselves in a position to win. They don’t have the same talent overall, (who does?) but they have the right talent in the right places. With all the success and talent UGA has, they haven’t recently had the QB or receiving core (more arguable) that Bama or OSU has had.

Michigan just needs to stop coasting in the easy games on the ground. They never take advantage of the bad teams they play as a way to get more in-game reps for their air attack. it is helpful to have had the experience grinding and wearing down teams when you’re facing a high-powered offensive team like OSU or PSU so their defense is weak stamina-wise because they never play games like that before they face you, but when you’re facing an all-around great team that is well-coached like Georgia or Alabama or even LSU this year and they have experience winning that type of game already, you need to be able to confidently pull into your offensive air game and have experience running that kind of offense to be able to even keep up with the crazy talent, coaching, and gameplanning those teams have.

Brilliant! You guys are always great and tuned in -thank you! Disagree with Michigan having the "Easiest schedule in America" -could have been said jokingly but...we play two top 5 teams in Penn St. and Ohio St. (besides those two teams not too many other college teams can say that) and we play 5 out of 7 weeks on the road vs the Big 10 ....we're not a great away team (sure we'll do better this year) and we've never had a schedule like that before so not soooo easy....
@joelaton1062
@joelaton1062 9 ай бұрын
OSU is the only other "Great" team in the big 10 though. It may not be the easiest in the country. But it is far more manageable then most years.
@garyaugustus690
@garyaugustus690 8 ай бұрын
They have the easiest schedule of any Power 5 school in the country...Ohio State has the most difficult. You mention two top 5 ranked teams to make it appear they have it tough. The NCAA and the national media does this for Michigan year in and year out....prop them up with a top 5 ranking based on their brand, and provide them with tomato can opponents the first 8-10 games of each season. That's why they fold like a bad poker hand come national playoff time.... Harbaugh should take a page out of Tom Izzo's book on preparing for post-season play by playing highly competitive, ranked teams early at the expense of their regular season W-L record....which, I admit, one can't do in college football.

Michigan is the best they’ve been under Harbaugh and I’d still say Georgia’s as good or better at every position other than QB or RB. Joel’s also correct about the style of play. Georgia’s also won back to back national championships, not ranking them #1 or making them preseason favorites would just be incredibly disrespectful. If Georgia had the exact same results over the past 2 years and returned the exact same amount production as they do, but had an Alabama logo instead, I guarantee Colin wouldn’t be saying this.

Michigan fan here. Michigan is loaded. Yes, the offense is stacked but it the defense that's going to be special too, led by Will Johnson who's the Marvin Harrison Jr. on defense and will once again be an unbelievable match up come Nov. Having said all that please don't pick against Georgia they're the standard and should be at the top until they lose...end of story!!!
