I think that Rue's fear of being a burden, comes from knowing that her family has problems that she sees as more important (her mom already has two jobs, his father has cancer, etc) so she doesn't think that she's the one that needs help, comparing to those problems.

Rue was the last person I thought I’d be relating to but it makes so much sense now. I always say I’ve been tired ever since I was born without even doing anything. I’d be coping by sleeping and not being present in the moment. I never got any medication cause where I am from, they don’t diagnose you with this kind of stuff. Just calling you a difficult child and keep hating on you:) I’m 31 now and pretty sure I have ADHD but it doesn’t affect me as much anymore. When I was a child I had a constant anxiety and never showed it at school. However, I would come home and cause ruckus there for what I got labeled “burden” in my family that they had to carry. It’s interesting to think how much alone I felt but that I never took any of their scolding seriously. I was rather turning against my family than thinking it’s my fault. I guess, that’s the only case when narcissism is actually a blessing lol

I heavily relate to Rue. I was never as bad as she was with drugs but I relate to her a lot because I have GAD, OCD, ADHD Inattentive, and Panic Disorder (along with a few other disorders that she doesn’t have, i.e PTSD and Tourette’s, I was diagnosed at the National Institute of Mental Health) but I think it’s so cool that the main character on a huge tv show has so many of the same disorders as I do! (I guess she would have PTSD after her dad passed but I don’t think it’s explicitly said in the show). It’s really nice to see someone who has multiple disorders in a hit show because people don’t believe it when you sound like you’re reading a list of all disorders. I usually don’t tell people about my disorders because I feel like people think I’m lying. I hope this shows the neurotypical population that people with a bunch of different disorders exist!

I love Georgia's reaction videos in general, so I can't be surprised it's my first ever comment on KZbin. I haven't watched Euphoria, but the contrast between my empathy with Rue's bleak narrative to your soothing tone had me crying in five minutes. With a mixture of ADHD, fibromyalgia and anxiety disorder, modern life to me does feel like fighting against an invisible army, sometimes. I can't rightly understand why, but I'm feeling a bit more forgiving towards myself after this. Thank you so much for your work.

You should do one on cassie, everyone hates her because its so easy to write off her behavior as just "messy emotional girl" but she has her own real set of issues and trauma and i hate that because her traumas are common to us (addict father who leaves, her value placed on her looks, manipulated into unwanted sxual situations, revenge porn etc etc) and less extreme than say rue or nate, no one cares. Even being able to see through her perspective which humanizes even people like nate and cal, still just like real life cassie is the one everyone hates.

Its crazy how much I relate to rue. I have OCD, Anxiety, and severe depression.. I wear hoodies and sweatpants everyday as well. Me wearing hoodies is a psychological thing and makes me feel safe from the world. I don’t know why that is. It’s a way of self comfort. I was on the road of being an alcoholic to escape from myself. I’m 27 and I’ve been dealing with this since I was 14 when I was diagnosed. I attempted in 2019 and got sent to a mental hospital. I’m still suicidal til this day but my family keeps me going. I love your takes. There's not much I relate to here on this one, except feeling like a burden even in extreme situations. The first time I had a panic attack I thought I was dying, it was the middle of the night, and I didn't want to wake anyone, so I waited to die and wrote my symptoms down to better help the figuring out what happened, 40minutes later I went to bed and said nothing until a month later which is when dad told me what it was and how he got them too. But I never stopped feeling like a burden throughout my entire teenage life, and that thought process still affects me even if I no longer feel that way, I don't feel like a burden anymore even if I am one cuz we all have the right to exist as ourselves, but because of that thinking I never developed the confidence to develop my individuality, I never made mistakes as a teenager because of that fear to be a burden, so I never learnt how to cope with making mistakes, so now I'm too avoidant, I don't try so I don't fail technique, it's not great, could be worse, but it's defo not ideal

Living for those giggles now. = ) Although, I'm not sure what you mean about being easily...SQUIRREL!...distracted. People with anxiety are not enamored with talking to me. The conversation usually starts by them sharing, and then asking me if I have ever had a fearful experience. "I don't want to tell you." Then they learn that I have had an unusual number of "run where the brave dare not go" experiences, and that afterward...I just let go of the anxiety. (Okay. Except for dating ;) And then they compare and they feel worse. Which is why I didn't want to tell them in the first place. What they don't realize is that this is what I was taught.
