I see a lot of commenters wanting to become cake decorator. I want to note a few things as someone who worked in a bakery. Firstly it is exciting starting out and making pretty cakes and learning various techniques. With that said, working 8 plus hours a day filling customer orders is your feet and body can hurt..your shoulders and hands from the repetitive movements. Lastly, be prepared for happy and cranky customers!!! These are things I was never told when I got into cake decorating. Moreover, No matter what be kind to that cranky customer…I know it can be tough but it shows professionalism on your part if you plan to run any business! Would you watch a cranky You’Tuber? This lady was a joy to watch…she shows professionalism. Just food for thought!

Jaylynn, you are awesome! To be 10 years old and already planning your future shows that you will absolutely be successful! Wish I would have been that smart AND mature! I'm 65 now and having trouble making a sponge cake. I hope that you have many adults around you keeping you positive on chasing and catching that dream. Can you tell that I am just a little bit excited for you? lol! Good luck, sweet thing...keep following your sweet dreams!

I’ve tried both methods using several colors and I found the plastic wrap method more reliable. All the colors come out right when you start piping. I noticed your first cupcakes only showed two colors whereas the last cupcakes showed all the colors. I do love your frosting tips. Thank you for your video! 🥰
@debjudisch55483 жыл бұрын
Yeah..I don't really find the plastic wrap method to be that much trouble, myself. And it is perfect from the beginning to the end! But Georgia's did look really nice once all the colors got down there. It is so satisfying to see, I think!

Georgia, I love you bunches! You are not only a phenomenal Baker, but you just seem like such a sweet, fun, life-loving person! Thank you for sharing so much with us. Now, I have to say something, and this is something I have noticed with EVERY Baker, NOT just you...I wonder if anyone realizes that the flour used for things that need rising power is called "self-RISING" flour? I hear everyone saying self-raising, but it is actually self-RISING. Just something I have noticed. Think I am wrong? Go to a grocery online and type it in and then read the bags, or you can trust me on this one. Please note: I am NOT trying to be rude or anything, it's just an observation!

A bit of trivia: If you find a number on the inside of your scoop (especially in the U.S., and on older scoops) that number indicates how many scoops you will get out of one quart ice cream. A #8 would give you eight scoops; a #10 would give you ten scoops and so on. 🍦

I just got my Russian tips. I cant wait to try them. I seen a few different techniques of coloring besides your way. (No need for a conversion coupling) (Lay out rows of frosting in a sheet of plastic, roll it, then into a piping bag or laying I think it was gel inside the tip then the frosting.) I think your way would give a more consistent color result.
@debjudisch55483 жыл бұрын
Actually, both ways work. I will say that laying out your perfect lines of buttercream and then rolling them up, all against each other gives you a cleaner line between colors. I'm not sure what you are talking about when you say something about "gel"? There is no gel inside the tip. Anyway, either method works well.

Oh, Georgia, I forgot, one more thing...Did you learn the melted butter technique somewhere, or did you just decide to try it and discovered it yourself? I find it so fascinating! Most Baker's feet so much over the butter and spend so much time warning is "don't let your butter get all melty and greasy!" Maybe they should give you method a whirl and see how really stress-free and fun baking CAN be! LOL! Thanks again...

I already have an update, they came out incredible! 🙏♥️♥️♥️ I never bake and so I can hardly believe I made such delicious cupcakes with my own hands in my kitchen! We will definitely be using the sponge cake recipe for everything now haha! And thank you so much for providing an icing recipe without eggs, not one of us in my family can stand to eat raw eggs 🙏 my mom immediately suggested we copy the recipe in our book. Thank you so much ♥️ if anyone happens to read, stick to the recipe strictly! I added more milk in the icing and it’s more runny than in the video. Still delicious though!

Cake decorating is only for the rich and famous! ☹️ I've spent over $300 on supplies and attempted 2 cakes...that was two years ago! And I can't say they were successes! In my defense, I was trying to convert a traditional cake to gluten free...didn't go over well! This past Christmas, I got the cake making bug again..bought more fun supplies..but just didn't get around to it!😟🤷😒 Same on Valentine's Day...and St Patties!!..but I'm hopeful for this Easter! The first cake I tried was Georgia's pink chocolate drip cake with all the cool decorations. Only got as far as the cake and frosting...and the chocolate drip. Oh yeah and another thing...I usually don't have enough room in my fridge to cool the cake. And who the frick is gonna eat the cake everyone is on a diet!..not to mention the cost of the ingredients is probably the reason I can't get myself back into it I have this block that comes from anxiety of messing up...and so many decorating techniques out there! Kinda overwhelming! You know what it is?;..I have kids!!...can't go too long without being interrupted!...that and an ADD/OCD combo! Ohwell🤪 But it looks fun!
