Auch wer nur kurz Familie oder Freund*innen besuchen will: Um ein Besuchervisum für Deutschland zu bekommen, müssen Drittstaatsangehörige in der Regel nachweisen, dass sie genügend Geld haben, um während ihres Aufenthalts für ihren Lebensunterhalt zu sorgen. Wenn jemand selbst nicht genügend Geld nachweisen kann, kann eine in Deutschland lebende Person für die Besucher*innen bürgen. Das kann ein*e Verwandte*r, Bekannte*r oder auch eine Firma oder Institution sein, die selbst ausreichend Geld nachweisen können. Diese Bürgschaft nennt man "Verpflichtungserklärung". Diese Verpflichtungserklärung können die Besucher*innen dann der Botschaft als Finanzierungsnachweis vorlegen, wenn sie ihr Visum beantragen.
Declaration of Commitment “Verpflichtungserklärung” (VE) is a document used as proof of secured maintenance funds to get a German visa. By signing this formal obligation letter, a relative, friend or business, who is a legal resident or registered legal entity in Germany, pledges Federal authorities to cover your entire livelihood, medical and return costs related to your visit here.
The costs that the host must cover by signing this letter include subsistence (food, drinks, clothing and alike), accommodation, and medical, nursing and returning costs.
Foreign Office is the authority that decides whether the host meets the criteria to become your financial sponsor. For that reason, an examination against the host’s evidence of incomes, residence rights and accommodation conditions is carried, after their formal application to commit.

I’m not student I’m only going for summer vacation and my Verpflichtungserklärung is also for 90 days but I’m not gone stay that long I’m only going to stay for 1 month my plan is to go to the Germany in 20 September and return to 20 October so can I make 1 months healthy insurance instead of 3 month and should I reserve tickets also for the same date. If I do that then I will get the visa or not

My bro requested for the verpflichtungserklärung but the office said he does not have enough credit worthiness so they could not grant him the document. However, they requested him to deposit 2,500 EUROS as a deposit for me. but he does not have that money now. I wanted to ask if i could get someone's bank statement which is not in my name and then submit it to the embassy as proof of funds whiles i used his residence as proof of accommodation. Thank you .

I can’t answer how much money someone is supposed to earn,only Rathaus where she is living does that .tell her to go confirm with Rathaus .they also check the size of the house
