i really love this. i wish there was a more common “speech therapist” style education style. it really helps me in pronunciation and being understood. i am american but i also have a very strong regional accent that is difficult even for other english speakers. so it’s been extra hard for me to not have a “lazy tongue.” another helpful “hint” for the L is english has two L sounds-the light L typically found at the front of our words such at light, lesson, lovely and a dark L typically at the end of our words like panel, saddle, principal. German only has the light L and that helped me with pronunciation as a native english speaker.

Hello there I just want to say thank you for your most interesting series on German pronunciation. I study languages on my own, as a hobby. It also keeps my brain active.

I just discovered something. Even as a native English speaker, it turns out I already use the "ich" sound. But I do it while inhaling, when I've eaten something very spicy and I'm trying to cool off the edges of my tongue.

thx a lot :) your videos are super helpful. but can you stress the "L" a bit more? cuz in words like bald it just sounds so difr from the english pronounce and even difr from L in Hallo. i just find it probably the hardest to imitate. again thx so much for your videos

first of all thank you a lot then my question is how do you separate the vowels like i&i ,a&a ,o&o ,u&u ,e&e wheather they are long or short pronounced? ????
@davide31589 жыл бұрын
You have made a mistake: "[ç] after a, o, u: „ach“ "[x] after e, i, ä, ü ,ich“ corrections: [x] after a, o, u: „ach [ç] after e, i, ä, ü „ich

Thank you very much for the video . I just have a question about pronunciation of -ch- as {x} . It says that it is pronunciated as"ich " but in the examples given ,we have -l- and -n- before -ch - . Nevertheless , the rule is still applied . Why is that ?

+Kun Lin Ji Kun Lin, ll means, that the U and O is short! double consonant is Nor pronounced longer, it just shortened the vowel. Does this make sense to you?
@kunlin5798 жыл бұрын
But how's it pronounced though? can you do a tutorial for l and ll 's that are at the end of a word?
