There's no doubt we Toronto fans are passionate, but our stadium also holds close to 60,000 people and when the roof is closed that place is LOUD! The seventh inning of game five in the 2015 ALDS (leading up to the Bautista bat flip) is also legendary as one of the longest and strangest innings in baseball history. There's been highlights from that inning in a couple of these videos, so the crowd had already been on a crazy emotional roller-coaster leading up to that moment.

I don't care if it's Little League, High School or MLB, there is nothing to compare being in a stadium full of fans cheering on your team. Baseball is the best !!!!!

Ah, the Mike Piazza home run. For reference, the reason the crowd was so hyped for that home run was because that game took place in 2001, and was the first game played in New York after the 9/11 attack that caused the World Trade Center to collapse.

Its that soccer mind set, in soccer not much happens , its just the ball being kicked back and forth but in baseball you have to pay attention, there is stuff actually going on.

German Reacts, you mentioned the Blue Jays fans. That's Toronto, Canada. That team is the Toronto Blue Jays. Great fans, but I think that kind of loud enthusiasm is everywhere in baseball when the stadium is full and a team is doing well. It's a lot of fun to go out to the ballpark and see a baseball game.

I love baseball. Sometimes its like watching paint dry but then there is this burst of energy. I'm a "small ball" fan, one base at a time and grind it out for the win, home runs are cool but still.......

If you go to a regular season game, don’t expect it to be like this. The stadium may only be half full and the game probably won’t be as exciting.
@lazyidiotofthemonth4 жыл бұрын
They don't actually have the loudest crowd. The Loudest was the two world series in 1987 and 1991 in the Metrodome, which for reasons involving the stadium construction was significantly louder than any outdoor stadium.
@mauruhkatigaming48074 жыл бұрын
I was at one of the last games ever played at the Metrodome, Game 163 in 2009. The Metrodome was an objectively terrible baseball venue in many ways (balls get lost in the roof, not enough toilets, trough bathrooms, who the hell wants to be stuck inside on a nice summer day in Minnesota of all places), but at playoff time when the crowd was rocking there was no home field advantage like it in all of sports. People in the cheap seats were banging on the air vents. It was nuts. Also back in the late 90s when they were terrible you could get a ticket for the price of a six pack of Grain Belt. Maybe throw in a bag of chips if you want to sit in the lower deck.

Most game endings come with the team that is defeated being retired by the pitching team. When a team wins by scoring a run it’s called a walk off and pretty rare, especially in the playoffs.

👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 Awesome again Leroy. Love you videos. Americans seem to love sports as much as they love religion. LOL... I'm a lifelong fan of MLB , NBA, and the NFL just like most Americans and I can tell you that the people that attend these games are serious about their teams. That is why you get these passionate reactions. The NHL and soccer are also catching fire here so the options are endless. (And don't forget college sports are just as big as professional sports.) I think its great because we can watch great sports all year long. I like golf, tennis and auto racing too. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I recommended in another comment that you go to a Yankees-Red Sox game if you come to America and decide to go to a game. (I think they also play games in the UK once a year now). 7:10 is the Aaron Boone home run. A lot of baseball history surrounds that home run. It was game 7 of the 2003 ALCS between the Yankees and Red Sox. The winner of the ALCS goes to the World Series. Let's start with the Yankees. The Yankees are the winningest franchise in all of sports, I believe. In ~120 years of baseball, they have won 27 championships, including 1996, 1998, 1999, and 2000.. In 2001, the Yankees made the World Series, which was the first major sporting event right after 9/11. The Yankees blew a lead in the 9th inning of game 7 (2:54) and lost. Right after 9/11. The Red Sox had not been to the World Series since 1986, when they lost to the Mets in embarrassing fashion (look up Bill Buckner). They hadn't won a World Series since 1918. In game 7 of the 2003 ALCS, the Red Sox start pitcher Pedro Martinez. At his peak (1998-2000), Pedro was the greatest starting pitcher of all time. However, he wasn't known for his durability. In the 8th inning of game 7, Pedro is still on the mound, with a 5 run lead. Pedro is clearly fatigued but his manager leaves him in. Pedro blows the lead, which leads to Boone's walkoff in extra innings. The Yankees lost the 2003 World Series to the Florida Marlins. The Red Sox manager (Grady Little) was fired after that game. The guy who hit the walkoff (Aaron Boone) is the current manager of the Yankees, although he didn't become manager until 2018. Fast forward to 2004. The Red Sox and Yankees are meeting in the ALCS again. It's game 4. The Yankees lead 3 games to 0 in a 7 game series. It's the bottom of the 9th inning. The Yankees have Mariano Rivera on the mound. Rivera is the most dominant closer of all time. Nobody else is even in the conversation. The Yankees have a 3-0 lead in the series, and a 4-3 lead in the game. The Yankees blew the series, and the Red Sox won their first title in 88 years. To understand that rivalry, you should watch the highlights of that series. I recommend kzbin.info/www/bejne/q6islmypl6Z6iKM

Yeah, what I seriously feel is missing is the crowd reactions this season. Granted, it's utterly impossible in a pandemic to HAVE anyone in the stands. I'm surprised that I've heard it suggested people will try it for the NFL. I just feel like it's a big, big part.

A little perspective...Baseball games aren't usually that packed...almost all of those highlights where in "clutch situations" in the Playoffs...for example Lewandowski scoring a 78th minute goal against Mainz 05 at the Allianz to go up 5-1 in August, is not gonna get the same crowd size or reaction like Robben scoring in the 89th minute against their biggest Rivals at Wembley Stadium on the last Saturday of May

Some notes on baseball culture if you ever decide to visit * the AL East is the most competitive division. Red Sox-Yankees game is always a good bet * fans on the east coast care way more about sports than fans in the western 90% of the country * southern California has the most apathetic fan bases. Mike Trout plays for the LA Angels. LA is the second biggest city in America. Trout is arguably the best player in baseball history, and certainly the most talented athlete in the world at this moment. He is the Michael Jordan of baseball. But you probably have never heard of him. Because he plays in LA. The second biggest city.

Right now, the most competitive division is the AL Central ... White Sox, Minnesota, Cleveland, Detroit. The Dodgers are head and shoulders the best team in baseball at this point. Yes, Mike Trout is the best player but he plays for a mediocre team. The Red Sox are horrible, in part due to injuries. The Yankees are 1 game over 500, also injury plagued. We're hoping for a Chicago vs. Chicago World Series. (Cubs/White Sox)
