Great photo showing the sections of the narrow railroad. I’ll go back later to take a better look. You both have to be in pretty good shape to tackle a lot of these adventures like this one. It appears a lot of the locations the German chose were not only about defending the area but about the difficulty for the enemy would have trying to over run these locations. Seeing the barb wire still there is a testament as to how well these things were made. Great location with beautiful views.

Another great video. The scenery is always so breathtaking. It's a shame they've closed off the bunker. I'm sure the internal layout would have been intriguing. And in the winter, it's not a place you'd want to be careless. The conditions could be life-threatening. This complex, along with the others in the area, all interconnected, would have been quite a sight.

Just love these explores when you guys find things like the barbed wire posts still in place after all this time, and those hidden bunkers, that probably very few, if any, other people know about. That climb up to the Firing Control Bunker looked tough, really tough, so thank you guys for making the effort to get there, and show us that spectacular view. You could certainly see why they put it there. I probably would have just said "no way' and left it at that. So great work getting there! You might find that steel beam you found came from whatever was blown up, probably after the war, further down. Could be that's how they got rid of some of the ammo from the guns. Stuck it all in one bunker and lit the fuse. Thanks again for sharing this incredible location! Looking forward to seeing what other amazing places you found on the Tour! Cheers to you both! Man, that was a lot of hiking you two did! Some great sites there. The apparent barracks bunker was interesting! Love that narrow track railroad beam. For some reason I went "I would love to have that!" Of course, without the ants! 😆 Sucks that you put your hand into that one ants' nest as you were working your way to the site. So glad you two went on this trip and brought us along. It's definitely been worth all the donations I sent.

The opportunity to fall into a trench or a deep ravine seems to be a real danger in the lush area you are walking through! I think those barbed wired posts were there to keep someone from falling into that tunnel entrance! Wow, all that barbed wire still left on that hilltop! Crazy! What an amazing view from atop the hills! What a climb of the hill side! How did you get across the ravine? Beam from a bridge? Thanks for taking us along guys!!

yes i agree , that place is pretty dangerous some places. I guess the Germans kept it tidy and maybe even cut the grass to have trails leading into the different positions. Ah ha ! I found it ! only took me about 5 hours of searching and something told me that this part 2 video would shed some light on it for me ! Outstanding video guys and the VIEW ! just WOW ! Really is sad that they sealed off the entrances because I would bet that there was a pretty extensive tunnel system there ! I've mentioned it before and I'm surprised that you haven't done it yet , but to invest in some tall rubber boots or even some waders that can be rinsed off so that they dont smell up the camper van , Just imagine what you could have seen inside the flooded cave ! You might have even found some dry areas in there and who knows what else ! On to the next explore . . . Patiently waiting . Would be interesting to see some of the Torpedo Batteries around here as well , I'll have to look around and see if I can spot any . Stay safe and Healthy , Your Friend Mike

Such a great place. Well my friend we actually have waders but here is the thing. Being out there , enduring pretty tough areas to walk in we rarely use them as they are so heavy and we often already carry heavy packs with list of water , food , flashlights etc etc. They , in a way , dont justify carrying around for like 15 000 clicks a day , just to heavy and bulky. But , we do use them sometimes in dedicated explores. There will be a torpedo batteri explore coming with some INCREDIBLE underground explores. You will love that :) Thanks from us :)

@@WW2HistoryHunter Yes , I thought of that after writing my comment , All the weight you already carry plus the physical stress you endure and not knowing if you would need them or not makes perfect sense , Tall rubber boots would be an option although a bit cumbersome and slightly heavy . I also wanted to add in my comment , I wonder how many others take the time to search AND find the places you go , I've never seen anyone mention that in their comments , and I do read almost all of them . Though I doubt in winter many would have wanted to be on duty up there 🤣 Shame that they filled in the entries but perhaps they also tried to blow it up like the little one you found and felt that it wasn't able to be done and now extra unsafe so they buried them. The German barbed wire fencing may be nasty, but it sure did the trick. 25 explores 😮- WOW!!! You must have been tired but fulfilled explorers.
