The 87-01-150 is AWESOME for HVAC work, I keep one in my front pocket every day, and use it several times per day - gets off over-tight service port and service valve caps as well as many other things.

The 125 feels much smaller, and is narrower. The 150 is much thicker and heavier and doesn't hurt your hand as bad when you really crank on it. Jaws are wider too. I prefer the 150

Stihl uses T27 on almost all of their screws. I work on their chainsaws a lot, so I always miss the T27 too.

I have a Felo 63599 (19 piece) impact bit set with a their specialized impact bit holder. Somewhere on the internet there is a video comparing how much longer bits will last when used with it. I've had it over a year and couldn't be more pleased. I bought it on sale as it is a bit pricy. With that said Felo impact bits themselves seem competitively priced and my set has held up to the work of making furniture and doing extensive repairs on my first house very well.

Nice haul Matt. You may be more of a tool hoarder than even I am. 😂 Those Wera Torx keys look really nice. The stickers all have the same matte surface on them. I think KC Tool has them all made by the same place, probably with some sort of agreement with the tool manufacturers. They do seem to be very high quality.

14:08 The blue or whitish grey color (instead of weras green) on handles, etc is their color code for stainless steel. Not to be confused with the easy finder size markings and markings for the different drives (pz, ph, tx, hx, etc.)

Disappointed about the amount of plastic on nonessential things. Top of that, the Felo bit holder is bulky. I wish they considered where the tools get stored in practice, and shipped them in forms for AUER or Sortimo or similar systems; ideally made of hard paper, or plain paper (which I curiously get most tools in from my supplier in Germany).

I think the blue on the Wera holder is to indicate that it is stainless, like with there screwdrivers and the stainless bit holders.
@HunGredy
@HunGredy 5 жыл бұрын
It's also used for the holding function L-keys that are not stainless. They probably just differentiate them from the regular blacks one, no matter how it changed.
@janludwig7286

@@HunGredy Yeah, Wera is pretty inconsistent with there color scheme, for example they use the same color for ESD and heavy-duty tools, and there L-keys seem to be no exception.
@HunGredy
@HunGredy 5 жыл бұрын
@@janludwig7286 I think they don't care that much about it, neither do I. I know ESD is only for small screwdrivers that are obvisouly not heavy duty, and they also have the ESD logo, while I know that a chiseldriver is not an ESD tool, so probably they went with a smaller color palette out of cost reduction. Aside from that, one thing they could do is match the L-keys withe the Joker wrenches, because external and internal hex sets don't match up. I know it's not required but it would still be easier to remember a size 10 as yellow and not having to know it's blue for external and only yellow for internal. I don't know anyone who until now had an issue with this, most people don't even care about the colors who regularly use them. I already memorised all of them by using them.

I looked at this KCTools. But they have a very high shipping rate to Germany! I'll just buy the parts locally ;) Maybe we don't make the hooks, as you can buy good hooks from China for practically nothing. Or look at dentist tools for hooks: They are pretty good and strong.

Really interested in the 125mm vs 150mm Cobra pliers review. Im on the fence with which one i should get. Keep thinking the 125mm is just to small but dont wanna get the 150mm if it preforms the same as the 125mm. Looking forward to your review.

Nice haul! Check out Tite-Reach. They have a nut holder that’s low profile. It can remove small spring style hose clamps as well. It’s long reach with a thumb wheel to adjust. Always nice to get those KC tool boxes in the mail! Awesome unboxing!

nearly all suspension and chassis bolts on Mercedes-Benz models made after the mid 90s are all E-Torx, and I love it because I have yet to strip the head on one. VW/Audi groupe on the other hand uses triple square on a lot of suspension components and I hate them with a passion.

Strange you would say that about a TX27. I particlarly bought a Wera TX27 05032056001 to take my Stihl chainsaw apart to clean it. I would imagine they are all the same worldwide so there would be hundred of thousands around including Europe needing it.

I use them in addition to screwdrivers with a hex profile. If you can't use a power tool, for whatever reason (tight space for example), they're the best option. And they're not gone, you can get them here in Germany almost everywhere. And screwdrivers with a hex profile are not for higher torques.
@HunGredy
@HunGredy 5 жыл бұрын
Hex screws are pretty common in Europe and sometimes you need far bigger torque to release/fasten them than possible with a screwdriver. Ratchet sets are inconvenient on many occasions, like I have a bike that contains exclusively hex screws of many sizes, this small L-key set is perfect because it's a small set, fits everywhere, contains all sizes I need and you really have to torque down screws sometimes on bikes. And that's the same probably for many European countries.

There will always be a need for L keys. They are not something i use daily but i just had a project where clearance issues prevented me from using T handle, a driver or, even a hex socket Having the L key allowed me the finish without resorting to more destructive tactics.
@EditioCastigata
@EditioCastigata 5 жыл бұрын
L-keys are lighter than driver+shaft+handle. Admittedly that doesn't make much of a difference if you never move your tools. Bits+holder on the other hand can have clearance issues. Hex is quite common in sports equipment like modern bicycles, followed by torx.
