That manual nibbler is awesome, I use it to cut holes on the edge of enclosures, or cut plates to shape all the time. works great on a couple of mm aluminum, and any plastic that isn't hard enough to shatter (most I've tried has worked so far). It's not going to leave the prettiest lines, so you'll want to go over it with a file afterwards (although for cutting holes for panel-mount stuff, you can usually just get away with the rough edge) That said, it does tire out your wrist after a while, even on softer materials. I like it because it's a good way of cutting custom holes enclosures without producing much dust or noise. You can also buy spare blades from knipex if you feel daring, like me, and shatter yours on some 2mm steel

I have the Wiha push-button pliers and they are....ok. Definitely very powerful and I have used them for cutting surprisingly large nails and whatnot. But the button on mine is temperamental. Tip: If the button appears ‘sticky’, wiggle the handles apart a little bit as you apply pressure to the button and it should work. The channel is completely your business but, unless KC are providing financial or material support, wouldn’t you expect more viewers if the title was ‘German tool unboxing’?

Frank Black yup mine is the SAME way. If you work it in and out a few dozen times it gets better. Honestly I’m not too happy with it but i just leave it in the pushed in position and I’ll use it to cut thicker stuff only. I have a regular pair of angle cutters i use for everything else. Their pliers are made in Vietnam not germany like their screwdrivers. But it’s not a terrible tool. I just wish it was a little smoother. Their wire strippers are made in the USA. But like i said the more you use it the looser and better it seems to get. Just needs some breaking in

I have the Irwin rebrand of those NWS side-cutters. Got them when Lowes was doing massive clearance on all the "Made in Germany" Irwin tools. Also got the rebrand 9" Linesman's Pliers with Fishtape puller, and the angled Needle-nose pliers

The nibbler is from "Edma" french company, you will find more from their tools rebranded as knipex, so are tools from Erdi.

Great video. I have a pair of the whia bi-cut and I can tell you those are awesome. I love the "power" button when you push that in to engage the extra cutting power. I got them from KC Tool about 9 months ago and I've used them a ton. Couldn't be happier with them. I have a couple of pairs of GearWrench pliers with that extra pivot point - crusty and poor quality.

The knipex scissors are great for cutting rg-6 and even rg-11 coax cable, without crushing the end of the cable. I have trimmed/ terminated lots of cat5e with these as well. They get a little heavy if you are trimming/ terminating all day.

NWS "Fastastico" is the series name. I have their end-cutting version. The major pitfall with these types of offset/compound leverage cutters is that relative to the really wide handle spread the spread down at the business end is small.

That power button looks kinda silly on that wiha tool. The Knipex Multi-Crimp is a must, serious high quality dies on it. Bahco red and yellow screwdriver's (BigClive) also uses are excellent quality worth a mention.

The scratches on the awl are only on the taper. It's like if you use an old drill bit to make an awl by holding it against a grinder, it's gonna leave scratches. What surprises me is that they didn't address this at the factory with sanding and buffing afterwards, but then again maybe they didn't think anyone would notice.
@zbplumbing647

I think the texture on the awl is to help remove material. Such as awling a hole in leather it lends almost seal back up after you pull the awl out. Just my thoughts.

the plastic cover cover the nut on the scissors is to insulate that bit. Conductive pointy-outy bits can cause problems when working in electricity. ;)

Those Knipex nibblers bare a strong resemblance to the Facom 887A hand nibbler; also advertised as being made in France. The rubber/plastic handles appears to be a slightly different between the two. Possibly made by Facom then packaged by Knipex?
@GermanToolReviews
@GermanToolReviews 6 жыл бұрын
I think you nailed it, probably is the Facom 887A. Seems to be a pretty rare/hard to get the Facom version though. For me the Knipex is actually cheaper.

@HunGredy
@HunGredy 3 жыл бұрын
@@euanroy4673 According to what I was able to find out so far, Würth contracts the top tier German companies for their tools. Many of their pliers are made by Knipex for example, their hex keys by Wera, the Torx L-key sets by Wiha. They also expect higher quality control for their own versions than the ones used by said companies. The same goes for Garant by the way. So rest assured, whoever makes them, have already the knowledge to make quality tools.

"Made in Vietnam"‽ Send the bicuts back with following as the reason: »Tut mir leid, aber das ist kein ›deutsches Werkzeug‹.« A German craftsman would be inclined to do. - Seriously, steel made in Europe probably originates from a modern facility, using electric arcs, than steel from Asia or the US, where all kinds of old-school "open" furnaces are prevalent.

Could very well be, the blade notch looks very similar-they are also priced quite competitively for Knipex, €16.49 on amazon.de. Facom do great scissors, comfortable handle and an excellent blade; I have a pair for the last 3 years and still v. sharp.
