Thank you - nice review. I recently purchased a Wera set that overlaps with this Gedore set which looks great. The max torque marking is excellent, and the fact they are hot forged explains the cost and the increased value.

If the part number is important you should take photos of those stickers so you could check those even if your tool is lost or stolen.

I see a lot of taps and bits come in packaging like that, be cool to see more 1/4 - 1/2 adapters I think koken makes some, I also think cornwell still hot forges their wrenches and tools that they still produce in Ohio.

1/4 to 3/8 is vital to spin on/off bolts/nuts of 14mm+ in hard access corners

Thanks for the review! I have a cheapo Tekton set, these look much nicer! May need to upgrade :)

Interesting that 3/4 " F to 1/2" M is not included there.

and it should not as 1/2 is the most common along with 1/4 and 3/8

Can you tell me about tooth racheting sound, I guess sharper sound is a sign of quality?Some sealey rachet I have has really snappy, sharp sound.1/2 Gedore rachet has dull racheting sound and some UNIOR rachet also has dull sound.Like wornout teeth.
@irfp4605 жыл бұрын
The sound is just a part of the design and has nothing to do with the quality of the ratchet.

You may well find that Gedore put a decent amount of grease inside their ratchets, this will dull the sound. (A good thing.) Lot's of stuff coming out of China with only a hint of lubricant inside. Tooth count can also effect the sound.

It has nothing to do with quality. Beta ratchets have sharp clicks, but ocasionally skip a tooth, while other ratchets might soud dull but are very solid. It also depends on what type of lubricant is inside mechamism.

I’d say, in addition to earlier replies, the tooth count also add to a click being more distinctive or dull. I would say less teeth gives a more crisp sound while more teeth gives more dull sound.

Nice touch to include maximum torque in Newton meters. Never seen it before but guess it takes German engineering to come up with such.
@fasousa47985 жыл бұрын
Its actually almost useless as torque wrenches are not supposed to be used with socket adapters. unless one uses the torque wrench just to preclude going over but not tightening to specific torque,

Wild Weasel You are absolute correct. To use for torque is a poor practice. I was thinking more in way that it may make people think twice before using an adaptor from larger size to smaller plus extension pipe. I have seen it countless of times and many time people twisting adaptors apart. That was the though behind my comment.

Very nice product, Gedore is huge in South Africa. That piece will break off if you keep on doing that to it. 😂

instead of foam they could have gone with what Würth Zebra does which is a rubberized foam that is very strong
