Germany prepares to send arms, troops to Lithuania

(14 Feb 2022) Germany's military said the first of some 350 extra troops it is sending to a NATO battlegroup it leads in Lithuania were en route Monday, adding to some 600 already there.
Six tank howitzers were being loaded onto trucks in Munster, Germany, for transport to the alliance's eastern flank.
The reinforcement was announced last week.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz visited Ukraine on Monday, part of a flurry of Western diplomacy aimed at heading off a feared Russian invasion that some warn could be just days away.
Scholz plans to continue on to Moscow, where he will try to persuade Russian President Vladimir Putin to stand down.
U.S. officials have warned that Russia could attack this week.
Moscow denies it has any such plans but has massed well over 130,000 troops near Ukraine and, in the U.S. view, has built up enough firepower to launch an attack on short notice.

Tanks wont drive because not enough spare parts.Choppers wont fly due to same problems,planes rotting away like the Tornados where water is leaking inside after a normal rainy day. It is quite outdated.Yeah, there are vehicles like the 2A7 which are still one of the best if truly not the best MBT due to it´s insane gun and ammo used, or the Pzh2000 artillery. But we dont know how manny they have that are properly operational. Heck they even developed the G11 Assault rifle, this thing was so advanced for its time, that in some cases voices came up that it is too much, and Soldiers wouldnt understand it´s mechanics. The ammo it fires was also quite special, and the rate of fire was so intense, that in a fire burst and when it hits, the caliber could kill due to a shock in burst first.

Never underestimate the German army. It took almost every major countries of the world to defeat them in WW2. Even then they fought till they were told to put down their arms. Even when Berlin was in ruins they fought bravely. Their ideology, method and system was evil back then but they should praised for their bravery and their technology too. Kinda debatable. Their new stuff is great, but they have a lot of broken or barely operational equipment. In 2018 less than half of their Leopard 2 tanks, only 39 out of 128 Typhoon fighters, and none of their submarines, were fit for duty. Basically 1/3 of their military vehicles, aircraft and sea vessels were inoperable. It's gotten better since then, but Bundeswehr is stronger on paper than in reality... UK for example has fewer tanks than Germany, but more of their tanks are fit for combat. Doesn't matter if you have 20% more tanks if 50% of them are broken down...
