I hadn’t done to much with eccentrics until I got the ultimate bench manual. I’m now a month and a half in and I’ve gone from 17.5 inch arms to 18.75 inch arms as a natural. Don’t skip eccentrics.

I love these bite size information videos! This is what I am trying to tell to all my gym buddies trying to get big: bodybuilding is a strength sport first of all and if you don't get strong, you'l just be messing around in the gym, always on a plateau, then eventually drop out or just stay at the same lame level for years. It's one thing to bench 10 rep sets with 80 kg and totally different with 130.

Great video. Really solid advice I live by personally so thanks for the reinforcement. It was great to hear knees over toes guys mentioned. There's pros and cons to everything and the connotations with his material is nothing but knees over toes. It's not that's it's wrong but there's a balance to everything. It has its place but it's extreme.

Ben doesn’t recommend working through pain, bad form, or a one size fits all approach for different goals and intentions. Range of motion, technique, and intensity are always context dependent. Figure out what your main goal is first and then apply the principle of specificity.

Kneesovertoesguy isn't trying to powerlift, he's trying to optimize movement. His deadlift form looked fookin awful when he deadlifted with Mark Bell. I feel like there's a lot kneesovertoesguy can learn from Wenning and strength training. He loves promoting how that pro hockey player was the only guy on his team who was able to do Nordic curls and he was 37 years old. But Louis Simmons has a video on one of his channels of a 300+ guy doing nordics for reps.

i have known about louis simmons for years. since he was probably on "bigger , stronger, faster", if my memory is correct. i probably have seen him on vice also. so i think i probably know about box squats from seeing clips of him and his guys doing them. ive gotten reinterested about him in the past couple days because i have gotten back into a healthier routine. did a youtube search on him, watched the first few videos and probably your video about him came up. youve got quite the collection of informative videos. it helps with maintaining motivation as well. watched a lot of your videos and i totally get the whole reduce mileage aspect. i want to reduce the pain so i have to get bigger and stronger without reirritating and reinjuring

I really appreciate your distinction between between 90 degree knee bend and the super deep stuff kneesovertoesguy does. I appreciate both and do my best to combine them to feel my best and I thought you had a great... haha whatever the word is for describing what something is for. It’s super interesting that the best kneesovertoes squatters are probably Olympic weightlifters and they spend their whole lives to squat 500lbs ATG. As opposed to 90 degrees being the strongest position where the best can handle well over 1000lbs!

Do you have any advice on how to switch to straight shank from knees over toes? I can get pretty close to maintaining a vertical shin if I’m leaning extremely far forward but it doesn’t seem right still. I’m hesitant to switch because I won’t be able to load my squat movements anywhere near what I do currently until I adapt to using a straight shank. If you have any tips that would be awesome.

Is it fair to say you approach quad hypertrophy in the same way you approach chest hypertrophy, accepting whatever gains come by squatting/benching in healthy ways but not purposefully targeting those muscles? As in, prefer to emphasize triceps for bench and posterior chain for squats, and let whatever quads/chest gains come as you do that, come?
@WenningStrength
@WenningStrength 2 жыл бұрын
Depends
@patrickjulius7352
@patrickjulius7352 2 жыл бұрын
I ask that because I think many emphasize knees over toes or like slant board squats in order to maximize quad hypertrophy.
