I wish I could share my story with the world! I knew absolutely nothing about perimenopause or menopause when I hit 50 and had an emergency hysterectomy. After that I thought I lost my mind. My husband said I went crazy and my daughters were scared of me for the first time in their life. I just happened to see a podcast by Dr Louise that totally saved my life. I'm an American but living in Malaysia. I went to so many doctors before one woman finally wrote me a prescription for Estrogen. Despite this doctors hesitation and warnings, I refused to leave her office until she gave the prescription. I was back to normal within a week! I absolutely owe my life to your research Dr Newson!!! Thank you so much!!!!!

Excellent discussion. I’m so glad there is movement at the station. The next generation of women will benefit from these pioneers.

I'm actually grateful for the real clinical depression I had in my 20s. When perimenopause happened, I knew that wasn't it!

I’m in Canada……. I’ve had a similar experience and can relate to all the feelings you’ve gone through, my mental health really took a blow during menopause and into post menopause. I struggled without help for a few years and it took me several years to get significant help and just in the last month was prescribed progesterone because at 61 was still having trouble with sleep and other emotional mental health issues. Where I live there is only 1 nurse practitioner that’s been trained with NAMS and her clinic has only been open since 2021.

Thank. You so much for all you done for us. Women Louise, I'm 70 this year and wish to God. I could have got this help from AGP 10 years ago I still can't get help from AGP even of female gp today they use it. The excuse I had a lump removed from my breast 5 years ago and that it wouldn't be wise to give me it. And even if she would give it to me she would give me a micro dose.So I've been with you now for 7 months. You have saved my life.blees you and your yeam

I feel really grateful that I am aware of all this before my own menopause hits. Knowledge is power. Thank you so much, Louise!

I was sectioned for 6 weeks at the end of 2022. I lost my job as Senior Project Manager in clinical research (for a depression trial ironically enough). I’d been on HRT for 10 years but hadn’t realised my dose needed my upping as I thought I was on the highest dose of oestrogen, 100ug. In December, a friend told me she was on 125ug so I saw my GP and he (eventually) upped my dose. I knew it wasn’t enough and went private, seeing your colleague Dr Alice Hunt 3 weeks ago. I am now on 150ug and on testosterone too. She (and you) have saved my life. I have 2 chemistry degrees and 13 years in clinical research and no job but I have my life back thanks to having had my hormones replaced. One question, why aren’t you talking about EDC’s Like Lisa Mosconi is? I believe, and I’ve done a hell of a lot of research, they are making things worse. Thanks for all you do! Jo Freeman.

I work in a hospital, and we need to be teaching classes so employees will have a safe place when they are going through it at work.

Thank you so much for all the work you and your team do. All this visible education is making such a difference. I'm better informed than my GP and have had a very poor experience so far with them.

So many women know more now, and so many doctors do not. It's beyond frustrating. And it's also very controlling when we're denied proper treatment because we're women 😢xx

Dr. Louise Newson, please make a reel focusing on the often ignored topic of post weaning. Two years after giving birth some women are too far away from post partum but they are still breastfeeding and left confused why they feel hopeless suddenly after having two years of being ok with a baby.

I can really relate to this video. I am 54 and started hrt last December. I can feel and see a difference but I feel something is still lacking. My GP said testosterone isn't licensed for NHS prescriptions or something to that effect but I would like to try this alongside my gel and utogestrone but don't know where to go source it and will it be costly? Thanks x

This is how women end up getting pellets. It’s hard to find a physician who understands and can prescribe T. In the US, it’s not available online. I had a low dose T pellet inserted, found it very helpful for my energy, but so much labs and cost, not sustainable for me. Planning to ask for the topical T from that same office. Hope you find a knowledgeable clinical office!

I feel the same…started hrt in January…felt way better, but still not quite all the way…still missing that confidence. They don’t prescribe testosterone which is what I feel is missing.

Some GPs can prescribe it - mine did but only after the private menopause clinic told him I needed it. He had already done my testosterone levels - as requested in advance by the clinic - so knew they were low. Google ‘menopause clinics’ and book in asap. Bristol menopause clinic - in Portbury - have appointments tomorrow. They also do remote testosterone consultations. Good luck! Jo

I’m likely in “early”perimenopause. Is it ok in general to start the patch at this point? Having various symptoms. Tracking using the Balance app-very helpful to validate what I’m going through!

Yes. Best time to start it, Jo.
