I have always had nice, full lips. I did use very conservative filler throughout my 50s when I was making the big bucks as an RN IN N. CA. At 62 I retired and stopped Botox and filler. I have grown to love my face and greying hair. It’s a vibe; an attitude. I love it. My skincare routine is very good, so my skin is great. My present happiness requires adjustment and a great attitude. No surgical procedure can do that.

Very interesting video. My dentist did something that sounds similar to the V TO Y advancement. The frenum in my top lip was very tight and was causing a gap in my front teeth. She used a laser to break up the extra strong fibrous bands. Before when I smiled my top lip disappeared, now it's nice and full, even when smiling.

The "lip flip" actually worked really well for me because I tend to curl my upper lip inward when smiling. The botox helped the lip relax more so more of the upper lip is visible when smiling which makes my smile look more balanced and less toothy. I recommend it if you have this problem, but to get the full results you want you probably want to get a little filler with the botox. I only get 1 syringe every 6 months.

I was about to say this, don't be so quick to dismiss the lip flip! If you find your top lip disappears when smiling this is such a good minimally invasive solution, I have so much confidence in my smile now I love it!

I literally don't know what that girl is talking about lol. With botox you'll be sore in that spot for a couple days, with filler you'll be sore for a week or so. But no it doesn't effect your ability to do anything lol.

Hoy! That extended corner grin lift lateral ext. scarring looked like a Joker smile. That would be a "no go" for me. I wouldn't take that risk. You do a great job of showing and explaining possible risks and why! I'm sure you're a great advocate for best practice for your patients, Doc!

I had a lip flip with botox and I hated it. It looked OK, but I couldn't eat, drink, brush my teeth, or even talk normally! BUT if you want to quit smoking - it works! I could not smoke, it was literally impossible.

I swear after doing only lip flip one time my upper lip has weakened /lengthened the philtrum so much that it’s longer/flatter now and that was a yr ago. Maybe it’s just subtle, but didn’t do any favors.

Great video! As much as I would love to get a lip lift, I have two reservations: 1) The arching of the lips in *most* cases that I've seen looks really creepy. It's like a pyramid shape where the center looks abnormally high and dips down low on either side. Is there a technology simulator to show how one might look after the lift? 2) My fear of gravity eventually pulling the scar down into the philtrum area. :O

Let's be honest...filler hurts and its $$$ but if you do a little now and then, anc you have a skilled injector, it's very natural. I'm turning 54 and I've been getting filler on/off over 10 years. I dont fill my face or do anything else and haven't had migration issues. Interesting video ❤

Hello Dr. Linkov, just a quick question about Minoxidil. I started taking it about a week ago and had to stop due to abdominal pain, related to gastric bloating. I tried to look into adverse affects and didn’t find anything listed for this medication. I had to stop taking it, and it resolved a couple of days later. Not really unfortunately. Fillers don’t look natural in that area. A lip lift can help at least reduce attention on the philtrum itself.

i went to Dr. Jacono for a bullhorn lift back in 2020. worst experience of my life. i have horrible scarring all along my nostrils and it looks like i barely got lifted at all. its like i paid 10k for my nostrils and cupid’s bow just to look crooked and deformed. i wish i went to you 🥺 i feel like he only does beautiful work on celebrities but for regular people he just robs them and treats them like dirt.

I love dr Gary but 7mm philtrum is quite bad. It looks unnatural and makes the nose look longer. Quite awkward when you smile. Some facial malformations have this type of philtrum. I wouldn’t advertise this to young impressionable teens who might have short philtrums already. I have friends who got that procedure with dramatic results and they regret it. Imo 10-15mm is the ideal length, according to QOVES studio you wouldn’t go below 11mm for females. That’s just a thought though. Thank you for the informative video.

Can you explain how you do your deep plane liplift without touching the muscle? Is everything cut through until you hit the muscle. I naturally have fat that extends past my vermillion border although my lip itself is not plump and it looks like i have migrated fillers, this fat makes my top lift have a shelf which makes the philtrum appear longer than it is. Would you take off more skin for this case, or the same rule applies as a normal patient?

I’ve never had full lips😫😫😫😫 My top lip is pretty much nonexistent. Now I’m in my 40’s and my lips are becoming even more thinner 😳 . I never considered having something done because I’ll I knew of was lip fillers, and in my opinion the results look so unnatural. BUT a lip lift looks promising. I’ve only heard of this option just a year or so ago. Was is kept on the hush or something (I’m always the last know to know about something lol)? Anywho, I’m definitely considering. Currently reaching now 😁

Excellent video! Thank you I tried to have a bullhorn-style lip lift with a septum alignment (my septum was attached off to one side) what I didn't realize is that one nostril attaches higher than the other so now my septum is straight and centered but my nose still looks wicked crooked. I used to always think pictures of my face came out weird because my nose looked straight in the mirror so I guess my brain was aligning it, now when I look in the mirror I always see my crooked nose, but comparing an old picture to a current picture it does look straighter now. The lip lift was barely noticeable. Once I'm rich, I'll try again by then I'll probably need a facelift too I also need a cartilage specialist for one deformed ear
