The fact that Judge Ito literally allowed this field trip for the jury to happen for no reason, just goes to show you how much the defense had Ito around their finger.

@@Joe_Parmesan no Cochrane wanted furhman in there. That became the most powerful tool in this case. He didn't stop at just " don't do furhman" he followed w/ let the white people do him. Meaning yes he was looking out for Chris but Cochrane didn't want Darden to have to save him or be his buddy on direct examination since each side is very nice of course to people they have testifying. So Cochrane knew Darden was getting called a sell out already. Cochrane also knew Darden for years they were friends. He was quoted in real life as saying this after Carl Douglas was saying they should Amp the press up about Darden to infuriate the jury like he was a race traiter which is horrible. He was a man doing his Job fighting for justice. Anyway Cochrane told Douglas no & don't egg anyone else on about chris. " he's black & he's young & he's gonna be black after this trial " it's funny so many people hated Cochrane for his making playing the race card & inflaming the jury w/ race in everything once he got possession of the furhman tapes. Still a lot of the players on the opposite side said outside this case & the courtroom people all said Johnnie was a nice funny likeable guy. People like Marcia Lange & some lawyers who went on TV who were covering the trial. The man had a client to defend & he did everything he could to get him off. Of course I get people got upset w/ how hard he pushed race for oj of all people a man like Darden said " spent his days playing golf w/ rich old white men & his nights sleeping w/ young white girls. Was it dirty pool to Change ojs house ? All the African art & only pics of black people. I blame ito. Their was no reason for this stupid field trip so the already annoyed jurors had a fun outing to keep them happy as they were of course sequestered for 10 months. Also think the fame hungry ito loved going to ojs house. Cause in what murder case ever do they take a trip to the murders house ? OK there was blood there but a lot of killers kill victims on their homes or bring evidence to their homes. Also I get why Marcia objected & hated this. Cause not only did ohs house get transformed but it had life. Pictures furniture art fire places the trophy etc. Nicole's home was obviously completely empty as she was murdered a year before. Only the now deceased owned that home & the kids lived w/ Nicole's family. So no reason to keep the place. The family obviously was looking to sell it. I very much doubt any member of her family wanted to keep the place for one of them to live at. Their loved one was butchered there. So showing Nicole's place it was cold & empty. Sad. No photos no insight into Nicole's life her style how her home was decorated. The only thing ito agreed to have changed was the warm fireplaces they were gonna have going. It was also to show people wow look at thus man's estate how much he achieved

How so? I always felt their relationship was weirdly shown. I couldn't tell if they hated each other's guts, Cochran was being a smug git to Darden, or Darden was an awkward individual who Cochran was trying to bring out the best in.
@OhioPaulDE
@OhioPaulDE 7 жыл бұрын
Highly unlikely, given every other interaction they've had in this trial was far from amicable. He was trying to get in Darden's head, making him believe he was the "token" black guy for the prosecution ; a prop of sorts. If you think he's trying to save Darden, just refer to when Cochran told him "I'm not trying to be respectful, I'm trying to WIN". The show implies Darden had serious doubts about the intention's of the DA office, putting him on that case. And he's right to have doubts, it could be argued that Darden was on the case in order to neutralize the defense's exploitation of race, nothing more.

Cochrane was playing head games with him. This was not done to help Darden it was done to make him feel" token " which let's be honest he was their for image . I'm sure darden was a fine attorney but no where near ready for ojs sharks who were all 20 years older with more experience. F.lee bailey taunted him into doing the gloves. He told him if he didnt " u have the balls of a field mouse " so I cant believe Darden let bailey play him. Basically anything ur enemies tell u to do or taunt u to do , do the opposite.

Aw man, I like Cuba(who doesn’t?) but he doesn’t look a thing like OJ, he may have caught a couple of his mannerisms, but it’s still one of poorest casting choices by Ryan Murphy - Sarah Paulson though, she’s brilliant as Marcia Clark... “Oh I know, it’s been replaced by a picture of his mother in a wheelchair” the way she said that line had me cracking up with laughter.

DA's are the ones usually known as the big spenders in trials. They might have met their match here, but they were not outgunned financially. Out of the thousands of arguments I've heard and read on both sides of this one, never heard one time that the L.A. county DA was sparing expenses in prosecuting OJ. Nice ring to your argument but very untrue.

Darden may have looked up at Cochran, but not after the trial started... these 2 become total antipodes at the end of the season. After the verdict, there is a scene where Darden speaks prophetic words about the future of the American black community to Cochran, who thinks that he won a "race war". in reality thinks were about to get much worse for ordinary black Americans with even higher rates of mass incarceration. Cachron didn't even live long enough to understand it...
