Greetings Is this pose also good for pain caused by piriformis?

Yes it is. The piriformis muscle of the folded leg and sciatic nerve of the straight leg will be worked on when you bend forward. But please remember that sometimes pain is not just because of one muscles, mobilization of the hips and pelvis can play a part too. So, you might need to work on hip opening exercises.

@@NamasteYoga333 Thank you for responding. I perform pigeon pose as you direct upon first awakening [when my stiffness & pain is the worst] then @midday and before bed. After 1 week I do notice a great relief in walking, bending and sitting. I notice discomfort but it is manageable. 😌 I will add hip opening work as you suggest and continue. My humblest gratitude🙏🏽 for this video.
