Sometimes your muscles just want to be held 👉👈
Here are two common ways to train isometrics:
Yielding Isometrics: Choosing to hold a position for time
Overcoming Isometrics: Trying to move against something that won't move.
Note that there are different terms. Some people like to call these "pin isometrics". Personally, I find yielding & overcoming to be fine, since pins aren't always involved.
(These were commonly used in a power rack with a barbell - possibly how they got the name "pin isometrics")
Some people have even said power racks were invented for isometrics!
Both of these can be done with either weights or bodyweight. Happy to elaborate in future videos if anyone is interested!
This video is part of my series on isometrics. Other parts talk about other aspects, how to train, etc.
Thank you for watching! Have a wonderful day.

That's honestly what happens sometimes! People are understandably wary of the crazy man trying to lift trees. However, when we're able to talk, I tell them about what I do and sometimes give them a free book. It can be a lot of fun and most people are very supportive after they learn about it!

Oh hell ! If were in a sour mood while walking through a park and I seeing him doing isometrics, his greeting and smile would make all my troubles seem trivial for the moment. And yes, I would join in too with him doing exercises. How could I resist a likeable, cheerful, good hearted person like that?😊

Yielding iso's are one of the core ways to improve your grip strength! Whether it's holding a pair of heavy plates in a pinch grip, holding a heavy dumbbell in a farmer's walk, or holding a grip-strengthener in full close. Holding that contraction is just as important to building grip strength as the act of closing your grip -to- that contraction.
