I believe if you are a shotgun guy to stock up on slugs and buckshot. The local Walmart and I’ve seen in my guns stores. Those are the 2 types of shotgun ammo that is hard to find. Shtf that shotgun will do major damage

Making your own body armor is VERY do-able with common materials having very reasonable weight. Multiple options in this regard. SHTF I recomend level 4 vs crazy town activity maybe level 2 (many police currently use this). @13:39 Well placed rifle mags also reinforce body armor although them getting shot can deminish their usefullness but most of the rounds in the mags are still ok and can be reloaded into other functional mags. A chest cavity without holes in it is goooooooood. BTW SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL TERRORIST HAT?!?!?!?! I love a sense of irony but that may be pushing the edge just a tiny bit................

With the current state of the economy, we're seeing a lot of people (10, or so) bringing guns in, to sell, for money, and a few trading in to upgrade or get something else that they really want. During my shift, I'm seeing 25 to 50 PMAGs sold, and about as many cheaper mags, each day. I'm surprised that, with as much ammo as we sell, our shelves aren't emptying.

Shotgun ammo disappeared in 2020. It disappear in Lincoln, NE, and Omaha, NE. Particularly buckshot and slugs. 5.56 and 9mm were more available than 12ga buck. And.... those were not very available. The only things untouched in 2020 were 5.45x39, 7.62x39, and 7.62x54. But today those are harder to get.

I sold 300-400 rnds of 00 Buck to Nebraska Gun on 9th (edit: 19th St) in Lincoln. I don't think he had ever seen a normal person walk in with that much buckshot. Very little buck for all that recoil, but when you can’t find anything BB in 3” will work. Internet yourself some #4 or #1 buck. 000 buck is harder to find but it exists. When you can’t find shit, you settle with some oddity. Lastly. You can always melt down lead and turn birdshot into anything. How desperate do you wanna get? There’s always something.

Soft armor isn’t a terrible choice either or having both. Pros to soft cheaper, lighter, can be used against stabs and impacts. Cons not rifle rated. You can go lighter with rifle plates but usually have to sacrifice by getting a smaller plate if you can pull it off. There are some lighter plates but they definitely won’t be green tip rated, so you would have to treat it as a step up from soft.

One thing to remember not all soft can stop knives that's an entirely different deal you see it in rioit armor for jail teams since shivs are what they are concerned with. Soft armor has a place for sure but if I have to choose I'm taking plates. The smaller plate thing is a non issue plates cover the things that end you

CB is alright within a short distance, get an amateur radio license and you’ll get much better range for your comms. The technician license is what you want if you don’t want to mess with learning morse code. You’ll be able to communicate clearly over a greater distance with clearer transmission and reception.

Multihit only makes sense until we look at it from the lense of are you planning to hold still and get shot also steel armor get beaten by a lot of current rounds like 855a1. It's super heavy, "spall protection aka bed liner delaminates and sprays fragments. No matter how good the coating they all fail. I've even seen level 3+ build up coat delamination on its own just from sitting. Steel also has another crucial failure point which is a glancing shot can ricochet rendering the coating unless. Poly and poly-ceramic capture even glancing rounds add in better protection, less weight even from level 4, and it's a no brainer

Grain sounds right, but the load will almost certainly be rifle dependent. I usually grab one box of every kind they’ve got on the shelf (in the right weight class) and take em for a range trip. Good luck!

The best upper I’ve got is an aero. I’ve been considering getting a BCM lightweight CHF. Im almost 60. I wonder if the aero is enough and if it can be counted on to be a go to? Buy what you can afford. Basic mil-spec is enough, but if you're a man of means you will enjoy the benefits of higher quality. I will never tell you that Palmetto is the same as Noveske. But PSA is good enough if you maintain it and that's all you can afford. Aero Precision is definitely a few steps up the ladder from PSA. If you can swing that and 3k rounds of m193 for training and 1k good stuff for the day of the rope you will be ok. If you can afford Noveske, or Knights or LMT etc. then you will be better served going the premium route. Aero is several steps down from where you should be if you have that kind of coin, and you shouldn't be in the room with Palmetto unless you bought 15 to arm a squad made up of your family and friends.

I have agreed with literally everything you've ever said until today (Seriously, it's spooky how smart and great at communicating you are), but I disagree with you about steel plates. An NIJ-listed/DEA-compliant Level III steel plate, with a REAL anti-spall coating and not just a home spray job with bed liner, is a lot better than nothing. I wouldn't pay like $150 for them, if you can afford that you can afford a pair of cheap RMAs. But if you can find a decent one on sale for like $80 (something like the Chase Tactical AR1000) and you ignore the "+" gimmick in the protection level, I'd 100% recommend getting them. Yes, I'd trust my life to them, at the VERY least I'd trust them more than thin air to stop a bullet)

It’s not always fine. I lived through a flood, bridge got nocked out had to wait almost 3 weeks to get to the grocery store. Good thing my parents had prepared in advance. Had my front door kicked in, was robbed in a supposedly safe neighborhood. Broad daylight. Have two family friends that were killed by criminals breaking into their homes. O and also I was threatened with pitchfork by an addict in broad daylight. One extended family member was stalked multiple times. Another extended family member was assaulted and barely evaded rape. So things are not always fine.

@@unclefreedom213 that’s not true guy. I can get 1000 rnds of PMC 55 gr fmjbt shipped free for 449.99$, just checked to make sure I was right at Bereli, they charge 515$. Sure if you’re counting your LE discount maybe that’s true but for civs there’s better options.
