Thank you both for being so open, honest and vulnerable about the tough times in your marriages. It's so refreshing to hear Christians admit that everything is not sunshine and roses. We still struggle even though we love Jesus and know the Word. This challenged me and encouraged me. Thank you!

Hi! I just found your podcast on KZbin a couple of weeks ago! I've been enjoying catching up while I sew. I'm 54. Been married for 35 years to the love of my life! We've known each other since ages 7 & 8. Went to church together as teens. Graduated HS together. Worked together in the HS library. And while he was in FFA and helped at the cattle auction where my dad was the President of the cattlemen association, we interacted as I also had the privilege of working with him. But we didn't date until the fall after we graduated in 1988. Then we married three months after our first date! ❤ We raised our three daughters while we were "growing" up ourselves. Did a lot wrong but by the grace of God, some amazing sanctification was happening during those years! Thankful for all the amazing women of faith who poured into me along the way! Enjoyed the IF Gathering this year! Thank you for having Jenny Allen as your guest! 🎉🎉

First off I'm a big fan of yours, Candace and you are so inspirational and I'm loving your podcast! I'm also a fan of Jennie's -- between y'all both I'm gaining so much wisdom. I have been married almost 10 years and my husband & I never cease to learn and grow closer together. We have already gone through some hard years due to my struggles with really bad postpartum depression and anxiety after I had our first child. Looking back that time in our marriage was so hard and I was simply on autopilot trying to navigate and survive motherhood and that's all I could do. That fact my husband never left me is all because of God. We have fought together in prayer and continue to as we are growing our family and God has amazed us so much with giving us the pastors, marriage counselors, friends, etc. to help us choose each other, choose our family and legacy daily. Keep up the great work of encouraging others through your podcast. ❤️

Married at 19, 23 years in, had 3 children, and now 1 granddaughter. I don’t understand how or why, but our marriage, despite being so young, was so much more peaceful and joyous the first 20 years. The last 3 years have been extremely difficult. Lots of financial stressors and family illness, communication issues, feeling disrespected and unloved on both sides. We always worked as a team but during the last 3 years I have felt very lonely. It’s been very tough finding Christian based marriage counseling. The fees are through the roof! We’ve talked with a few Christian counselors at local churches, but unfortunately I feel like the lack of qualification and experience in marriage therapy, has been to our disadvantage despite them really trying to help us. We get help where we can due to financial restrictions.

Married 21 1\2 years, knew each other in middle and high school, never dated. Met again in 1998, which I believe was a God thing. We did everything backwards and upside down. He had 2 kids from his first marriage, we lived together, had 2 kids of ours, then got married. Our marriage has been a roller coaster, we have both had breaking points and for all intense and purposes have walked away but something in both of us kept telling us no you can't walk away, it is truly because of God that we are still together and learning to work through things. The sad thing is we really see the after affects in our kids lives and are trying to help them through so that hopefully they won't go as long as we did before getting help. We knew of God but didn't know God and unfortunately our kids know Him even less than we did. They are all out of the house now but thankfully we do still have a relationship with each of them and even though they are half siblings and there's about a 10\11 year difference between the first two and the second two they are pretty close to each other.
