Get You Some Tritium for Under $100! - Carnival Tritium Field Watch Review

Today I review a Carnival 8638G. The impressive thing about this sub $100 field watch is that it uses T25 Tritium tubes. 15 of them in fact! Pretty solid field watch with a few major shortcomings. Check out the review for my full thoughts!

The one thing that has made me cautious about buying a Tritium watch off Alixpress is that I don't know how old the Tritium tubes are. Same can be said for buying Tritium watches on clearance. The thing to remember is that the lifespan of the Tritium tubes start the second they are made. Not when the watch is, or when you start to wear it. So if it's been sitting on a shelf for a few years, thats a good chunk of its useful life.

That is a very good point! Definitely something to consider. With this being a 2018 or 2019 model I would think (or hope!) that the tubes are fairly new. Say a few years or so, but it would be nice if they provided a card with the tritium production date.

I saw these on Amazon i considered filling it with oil lol... you know me! I like the tritium tubes a lot. I really like Ball watches... Great review thanks

I've had this watch in black PVD for a few months and I love love love it. Took off the bracelet and have it on a black Nato and wow kapow the looks slay me. The tritium is AWESOME! A bit of heft to it makes it feel quality. That's why the 3 atm wr is such a bummer. I would pay twice as much for a 10 atm version and probably never take it off. Maybe I can install an O-ring on the stem...can you hydro mod a 3 atm watch? Hmm...Great vid, honest and accurate according to my experience. Thanks! Subscribed

I am an old man so this watch will probably outlast me. I don't take my watches into the water except maybe my Casio ae1000. And I can always replace the crystal myself with a sapphire crystal and the band with a nato which will make this watch about perfect. Thanks for review.

I believe the newer versions (day date) come with the sapphire. This (2017) version is the mineral glass.

Looks decent, always nice with T25 Tritium tubes! Seems like pretty good bang for the buck! Are there several different versions? One seller declares a 20 atm with sapphire crystal, another says 3 atm with hardened crystal and a third says 3 atm with sapphire crystal but the price hardly differs. I have no doubt that there are some good quality watches on Ali, but I just never liked the confusing marketing which often occurs, does not feel particularly trusting. My opinion is also that a Field watch (designed for soldiers) with anything under 10 atm shouldn't be allowed to be called a field watch, possibly a "Field Style" watch if anything only because of the design aspect. But hey, that's just me :) Thanks for another great video, keep em coming!

I can almost guarantee you that the sellers that have this watch listed at 20 ATM and a sapphire crystal have it listed with incorrect or inaccurate specs. I seriously doubt that there are multiple models of this watch with different levels of water resistance and specs. For sure the water resistance rating is incorrect. I would also think that the sapphire crystal is incorrect, but I have heard people say that they received watches with sapphire. But I'm just not sure if they actually tested those crystals or if they are just listing the specs on these sellers pages.

I've had this watch for over three years. It's my daily user and has been flawless in operation. I put a screen protector on it. I don't know if it is still available. It's not on Amazon anymore, anyway.
