Achara, you need to stand your ground with some of your theories sometimes when Jaby pushes back on them. You were absolutely right that Strange will sacrifice people - including himself - for the greater good. Part of his arc in this film is recognising that he doesn't always have to be the one that makes that determination. Like Christine said, he always has to be the one with the knife.

Strange Supreme - responsible for the obliteration of an entire universe and the deaths of billions. 3. Sinister Strange - living alone in a dead universe. Strange's entire arc in this film was that he needs to let go of the reins. That's why he let America Chavez handle it. It's also why he finally recognised Wong's authority as Sorcerer Supreme and bowed.

The appearance of the ultron drones may mean that vision was never created. Ultron started vision, then Toni completed vision to fight ultron. If there was no ultron, they would've probably given the mind stone back to Asgard after making the drones.

In the one in 14 million scenario that Strange saw where the heroes win, Tony needs to be alive to make the sacrifice he eventually made in Endgame. I'm sure Strange saw all of the other scenarios where Tony is killed by Thanos at that moment (on Titan) and they all end in a loss. Strange wasn't saving Tony because he was showing compassion,.

But pls don't take Snape's words he said in confusion seriously. Snape was a shortsighted man. Dumbledore had no other option, it wasn't even a tough choice. The kid had to grow up and eventually fight voldemort, itwas his fate. There's nothing Albus could've done to stop it.. if he wanted the rest of humanity to be safe. Voldemort can't be killed without destroying the horcruxes and he had to come back using harry's blood and had to die by Harry's hand. Dr. Strange giving Thanos the time stone to save Toni was a calculated play. They explained on the way to the planet that they barely knew each other. In the 1 winning scenario, Toni had to live, because he is the one who perfected time travel.

It might be the winning play but it was still a sacrifice. Tony realised it in Endgame but it was of course too late by then. The whole movie establishes how our Doc Strange is diff from the rest Wanda would sacrifice many for her kids The Illuminati would sacrifice a few for their Universe Defender Strange would sacrifice one ( Chavez) for the multiverse But, our Doc Strange will not sacrifice even a single soul no matter the consequence; no matter the greater good... That is why, "he is meant to be the best of us"💯 The whole movie justifies his actions in both infinity war and no way home He would break his own oath/ rule and give up the time stone He would go against Wong's word to save Peter and his friends' future He would bear the toll of the darkhold to save America Chavez That's why he's the best And I guess that's why he'll become the leader of the next Avengers or atleast some kind of a father figure 🔥

That was a temporary sacrifice since he saw how it would be undone. People might argue that Tony would have died then and there anyway but Strange ended up sacrificing him by making the timestone handover play because it was to lead to Tony sacrificing himself. In Endgame Tony was backed into a corner and he knew it and he knew Strange had helped get him into that corner.

Blackbolt, a man who spends every moment in self-imposed silence because of the danger of his voice...can't help but scream and kill himself when his mouth is erased? I just realised something. Doctor Strange saw 14 million timelines in infinity war and told us that it was the only way to win. While in other timelines they won by many different ways. Now, what I noticed is, Loki's events were after the endgame, so when he saw different timelines, he was able to see only one scenario to win because it was Kang who was maintaining the timeline to not branch, so basically he created that only way. While as Sylvie killed kang, now there are infinite timelines already being created instantly. So here we are having different timelines.
@stephen-macdonald
@stephen-macdonald 2 жыл бұрын
He only saw timelines that were branches from the one they were on at that moment. The other realities where Thanos was defeated in different ways had different things going for them from earlier on. 838, for example, having different heroes such as Charles and Mr Fantastic... and no sign of Peter Quill to screw up when Thanos was likely mentally incapacitated by Professor X's vfx circles.

@@stephen-macdonald But, Wouldn't TVA prune those timelines?
@stephen-macdonald
@stephen-macdonald 2 жыл бұрын
Also, what we see in Loki is a difficult thing to grasp because we view the entirety of time in a way. The multiverse both simultaneously exists and doesn't. Branches were pruned throughout all time so at every point after every potentional branch there was no multiverse, then Sylvie allowed the entire timeline to branch meaning that at every point the multiverse exists. It's a weird Schrodenger's Cat type situation.
@darpanchoudhary5719
@darpanchoudhary5719 2 жыл бұрын
@@stephen-macdonald I honestly think it's like this. TVA used to prune all the timelines as they started to branch and therefore, all the different timelines are following the same set up path. Until, Sylvie killed Kang, which gave rise to multiple timelines( multiverse) as they are not being pruned and controlled and everyone has a free will. Due to this also, the spell in NWH caused the movement of variants which was not supposed to happen, said by Strange himself as he has already tried the spell on Wong and everything went correctly then. This is also confirmed by Kevin Fiegi in the premiere where he told that the events of Loki caused the spell in NWH to go wrong and also allowed the multiverse to begin. You can check that video of him.
@stephen-macdonald
@stephen-macdonald 2 жыл бұрын
@@darpanchoudhary5719 Sylvie kills He Who Remains outside of the flow of time. You can see the entire timeline from where they are. The TVA that prune timelines, much like the universe, both exist and don't at the same time. They'd only be pruning on the version that is the "sacred timeline." Again, it's a sort of Schrödinger's cat thing going on. The multiverse exists both as only a single sacred timeline and as the full blown multiverse at the same time. The science of it is kind of baffling and my brain is far too smooth to be any good at explaininig in any kind of easily understandable way. The spell going wrong in NWH was simply because Strange lost control of it after Peter distracted him and asked for multiple changes. It wasn't because of what happened in Loki. What happened in Loki wasn't happening in parallel to current day in the MCU. There's always been a multiverse before NWH and there also hasn't. On the sacred timeline the spell either wouldn't have worked at all, even to go wrong, because there was no multiversal energies to draw from OR I'd guess the spell would have gone wrong in a different way and skipped the movie to the point that everyone forgot who Peter was and Aunt May would have been lost another way. What Feige said wasn't that the events in Loki caused the spell to go wrong, he said without the events in Loki the events of NWH couldn't have played out... because the multiverse wouldn't have existed. Except it would have, because it existed before it was pruned into a sacred timeline. We're dealing with an infinite loop of something existing and not.

In one universe his sister had a terminal illness, & that's why he becomes a doctor to save her, but she dies on the operating table while he was operating on her. This launches him into an every man for himself selfish attitude.

Wanda's argument about the differences or similarities between what she and Strange do it's just meant to be a surface level argument that Wanda tells herself in order to justify her actions to herself and to others; but it just cracks once you start thinking about it... It is very black and white: "Strange brakes the rules just like me, they like him and dislike me"; but the context is VERY different. You hit the nail in the head when you talk about the selfishness of Wanda's actions as her reasons for breaking the rules; this comparison between them would fit if she was saying it to the Dr Strange that we saw in the What If episode, breaking the rules and not caring about the consequences for a very selfish reason, to get Cristine back... Our Strange is arrogant and can be selfish and as we saw is quite capable of going the dark route, but he hasn't with his actions so far; His instances of breaking the rules have a context and a reasoning behind them that are night and day compared to Wanda's: Him using the Time stone in the first movie, it was a necessary breaking of the rules to SAVE THE WORLD, so a very selfless reason for ACTUALLY the greater good, specially since he was willing to sacrifice himself and stay there to keep Dormammu trapped; Him using the Time stone in Avengers, also very defendable given the stakes they were facing and he did it to save the UNIVERSE, greater good doesn't get much greater than that... And him understanding the sacrifice that Tony had to make in that ONE opportunity they have to defeat Thanos doesn't make him Tony's executioner or "the one that sacrificed Tony or half the universe", if it wasn't for his actions EVERYBODY would've been gone for good... Even Strange's fucked up in No Way Home come from Strange attempt to help a kid and fellow Avenger that has given up a lot to keep others safe, it wasn't a selfish reason for breaking the rules and he didn't do it for himself; Was he quite arrogant and a bit show off to do that spell? Yes, but his intentions were good and for the benefit of another... Wanda's actions are ENTIRELY selfish and self centered, she is intentionally breaking the rules and causing all of this damage with little to none regard for who gets hurt, in order to fulfill a need that affects or "benefits" only her... She doesn't get to pretend that her actions serve any notion of "greater good".

There are likely universes where Donna didn't die, but then you have to consider Stephen's path after that incident not occuring. Just like how Strange as a doctor suffers an accident and that leads him onto the path of sorcery, it could be assumed that a young Strange would need to suffer a loss of a loved one that he feels a degree of responsibility over (he says he couldn't save her) to set him on the path as a medical professional, in turn leading to the sorcery path. It becomes a somewhat safe bet for Doctor Strange to assume other versions of himself that are also sorcerers to have had the same motivating factors in key life defining points. It would be lucky that this other Strange lost the same person in the same way that our Strange describes though, and he maybe shouldn't have been so forthcoming with explicit details regarding who and how. It's also possible that the dark Strange didn't have the same experience and didn't even need "proof" at all, and he was just wanting something from our Strange that he could maliciously pick at. It would have been nice if the star in the book was telegraphed better. A lot of criticism I'm seeing for the way this movie resolves is down to how it comes across as merely positive affirmation. A 'you can do it!' If Strange had said something like 'the book said *you're* the one that can stop her' and then America has a lightbulb moment maybe it would have sold more people on it. Honestly though, the way they handled America is my biggest let down in this movie. They treat her more like a mcguffin than a character. I like the movie overall. I'm the exact audience the fanservice was aimed at.

I don't see doctor strange being hypocritical in Thanos situation... or any other situation because he never had any intention of doing anything wrong... whereas Wanda is killing people... even killing her alternate versions... how can these 2 be compared... And for Strange giving time stone... he did many calculations to know that Ironman was very important to protect so as he can make time machine and bring everyone back so as to fight Thanos....

28:50 I understand what you're saying Jaby. Remember, Doctor Strange looked into all the possible futures and discovered there'd only one chance for them to win against Thanos, which was Iron Man. When they agreed to fight Thanos together before he looked into the possible futures, he told Tony, "If it comes to protecting the you, Time Stone, or the kid, I will not hesitate to let either of you die." So, if it was a future that he didn't see Iron Man being the one, he probably would of allowed him to die

40:39 Felt weird. Isin't he not immune to his own powers ? Like maybe on some normal day, he might be daydreaming or maybe yawning and closing his mouth momentarily causing him to kill himself accidently ? Or is it like after he initiates it he can't stop it ? We saw him taking a big breath before wanda shuts his mouth close. Couldn't he have breathed the stored air out through his nose ? Some are saying he had initaiated that attack but before he could do it, wanda shut his mouth close. His tuning fork was still lit up meaning the process of speaking was still going on and he couldn't stop it naturally after he had initiated it meaning he just realized at that moment he was gonna die from implosion. He might be like " no my mouth ! open my mouth ! i have initiated the attack already !! i have to speak !! Somebody open my mouth" before releasing it in his closed mouth and he already knew he was about to die

I read it on a theory somewhere that said "Stephen's Third Eye Manifested because of his photographic memory after reading the Darkhold." It then differs to the original cause. But in Darkhold theory, it made sense because Strange now held the spells of Darkhold in his head. So all of the spells of Wundagore (or some of it) are not all wiped out after Wanda destroying the Mt. Wundagore and all of Darkhold's copies from all the Multiverse. And is Mt. Wundagore only one for all the Multiverse or She Destroyed all the Mt. Wundagores too? Cause if isn't and Wanda only destroyed Mt. Wundagore of 616, then there are still copies Darkhold's spells (not the book) around all Multiverse.

If you see Wong in whole mcu series then you would see that his character had developed since doctor strange 1 , sure he would have sacrificed his apprentice if he was like the same wong back then but he had character development . First development started when wong fought with dr. Strange for first time and also laughed , which slightly stared to change is character , then when thanos snapped 50 percent of people , Wong lived and for five years lived a life in a different way and learned about more responsibilities when he became a sorcerer supreme , then in shang chi , I was amazed to see wong like that as he was babysitting abomination and then chilling in kariokai at last . So Wong changed also he saw that many people died in kamar taj , also his kind of love died in front of him by maximof , made him like the way he was as he did not wanted the young ones to die , just as our universes dr. strange as he saved America again and again otherwise he could also take her powers for his own just like others wanted to do .
