About that Captain America having serious 'daddy vibes' thing; it's so genius how they started him out, standing up to the bully in the movie theater, trying over and over to enter war, and the saying 'I don't wanna kill anyone, I just hate bullies'. The guy had all the goods to being a great leader -- one who leads by example, but he just never had the muscle to back it up. Now he can stand up to any bully and do it the right way.

Y'all really edited out some of the best scenes. What happened to Thor's intro, man? Thor's fight with Cap and Tony? Thor's chat with Loki? Nat fetching Bruce for Fury? Nat totally punking Loki and getting the answers she needed? Seriously so many times I was totally lost like the editing made the scenes jump in a way that feels super disjointed. Damn, man. I was so excited for this one too.

If you're wondering how Thor was able to travel to earth without the bifrost the all father Odin or Heimdall sent him here using dark magic. Now if you didn't use the tesseract to go back to Asgard it would have been a one-way trip. If Loki didn't surrender he could have beat Captain America and Iron Man. Loki seen weak compared Thor and he is physically nowhere near Thor's strength. Now of course if you mean power-wise Loki is equal to Thor strength if not stronger due to all of his individual powers.

This is still my favorite MCU movie. Don't get me wrong, there are other great ones (you'll see) but this one was so great at setting the tone, being the first ensemble and just grabbing you right from the opening scene and keeping you glued the whole time. That first shot that pans around the six of them is still one of the most perfect moments in the MCU.

Love this movie! That first team up shot with the whole team is still iconic to this day. Hulk was great in this! Iron Man was dope too. Thor and everyone else. Cap I liked too, but it wasn't until his 2nd solo movie after this one where he started to become my favorite character in all of the mcu. Glad you liked this movie, and I'm happy Hulk moved up on your list! Hulk is my favorite Marvel character in comics but unfortunately he doesn't get that much love in the movies. The screenplay was by Joss Whedon (Buffy, Angel, Firefly), who directed as well. He's very talented as writing groups. Ruffalo is my favorite Hulk. This is the first movie where the actor supplied the movements for the Hulk, instead of pure CGI. Ruffalo wore a motion detector suit on stage. IIRC they also based the Hulk's expressions on Ruffalo as well. Hawkeye & Black Widow aren't romantically involved, but they are very close friends. I think it's funny that so many people think Natasha is the bomb and Clint is a joke. In fact they're both highly trained secret agents. There's antagonism from Tony with respect to Steve in that Tony felt his father never really loved or respected him, but he constantly talked about his time with Captain America. Naturally Tony is jealous. Next up is Iron Man 3, which explores Tony's PTSD, which haunts him for many movies.

You might want to react to Agents of Shield. It started off as a canon spin-off of Avengers, then the TV and movie studios split and was less canon and more just kept referencing the movies and what went on in them in parallel/easter eggs, though it is a good idea to find the watch order, as it's still relevant that you have to watch a few movies, then a season of the show, then the next few movies, then the next series, etc... Rarely, the odd cameo from a movie character will appear on the show, which is what makes it semi-canon. Though there is one reeeeeallllly big linking factor to the MCU and the show.

You were right to laugh as hard and long as you did. When HULK ragdolled Loki and called him Puny, it was among the funniest movie moments in recent memory. And of course it was preceded by THE MOST BADASS movie moment of all time - Cap suggests to Banner it might be a good time to get angry, so he donned his green suit and showed the aliens how painful it can be to take a punch. *Hopefully Banner won't be charged with a crime after stealing the motorcycle.

When Captain America gave Nick Fury $10 it was a reference to the bet that he made with him in the gym scene. Nick Fury said that the world had gotten stranger since Captain America was asleep. And Captain America said that he’d seen some pretty strange things in his life and he doubted that anything would surprise him anymore. Nick Fury then bet him $10 bucks that he could prove him wrong. They then flew away on a giant flying boat that could turn invisible.

Lovely reaction - watching Hulk reduce Kristen to quivering jello was ... theraputic lol - IMO Avengers is like the Pulp Fiction of superhero movies - MCU innovation was having each auteur put his own indie stamp onto that superhero, and then use that to "brand" and differentiate each franchise - Favreau/RDJ made Iron Man screwball comedy; Branagh made Thor pop Shakespeare; Johnston made Cap a WW2 40s cliffhanger - and then, from all this, Whedon made a new kind of meta-blockbuster by weaving all these "brands" together into a larger tapestry, shifting among the different tones
