I post new love life advice for you every weekend.

Have you ever been with a guy you were certain would never settle down? The type who would declare to all his friends that he just “wasn’t made” for a relationship . . . only to one day announce he’s in a serious relationship or even getting married?
When this happens, we think, “What did the woman he committed to do that I didn’t?!”
What makes a man suddenly decide to commit?
In this week’s video, I not only dive into the answer to this question, but I also give you 4 practical pieces of psychology you can use to influence someone’s desire to commit to you.
P.S. I can’t overstate how excited I am about the new gift at the end of this video. I’ve been working on it for a while now and it will show you how you can define the relationship when you don’t know where you stand. I’m asked about this situation all the time, and this is the best practical tool I could come up with to help anyone in that situation.

Matthew, I married the guy who carefully considered all the variables before he committed and we’re so happy 😊! I had been following your advice for about a year when we started dating and I continued doing things like communicating my standards etc. He still loves to remark with pride about my standards, he just loves it. I plan to continue following your advice forever, even now after he’s fully committed. The part about “peace” is ABSOLUTELY KEY. Your best advice yet. So well said. I let him walk away a few times and even walked away myself, but not with anger, and we still wanted to be together so that made it easy to cross the divide every time. Big ups to you and your brother and congrats on your own relationship success, you clearly earned it!! *smooch*

@vibratac can you share how you communicated your standards and what they were? Ive always given too much of myself in past relationships and now that I've grown into a deeper love for myself and self worth. I have met someone new that I like and would like to do it better than before now. I have definitely learned boundaries at this point in my life but would love your opinion/advice. Thanks.

I absolutely love the fact that this addresses and reassures guys too. I've been in too many dates and flimsy relationships where women are afraid to commit because they always compare me with other guys and immediately hop on to "the next best" any time i show signs of vulnerabilities. Dating apps have ruined courtship. It really sucks but I'm glad I'm not alone

@@majrminer IDK what types of women you and men with your mindset are dating but surely we all must take responsibility for who we're choosing to try to date. It's easy to tell if someone is shallow on the first meeting with them. Even in chat. If you're chasing the gorgeous woman all the time, you might expect her to be superficial if she's the type that needs tons of makeup and clothing to accentuate her "beauty". But I suppose that's type of woman that most men seek. If a female is high maintenance, she will likely seek a partner who has money, unless she has her own. I'm always seeking men of substance but seem to only have my inboxes and DMs full of men who only are DTF. Yes, women may have a buttload of dudes hitting her up, but all women will be selective due to that. Thus, the men we respond to are the one's were visually attracted to first, then, we chat to find out their personality and what they're looking for. We seek compatibility and we move on quickly to the next if it's not there. It's that simple. IDK many women gold digging but I do know it's a plus if a man has a good job and healthy lifestyle. Isn't that what we all want? Guys have told me I have "potential" to be their future gf or life partner but then run off with the shiny, hot chick they see. -the issue goes both ways. Another example, after becoming pregnant, a woman's personality often changes a bit because of the crazy hormones raging in her body. Men often become frustrated with these changes and unwilling to stay with her to work it out. There's little sense of loyalty in relationships anymore it seems, and it's hard to find someone who is DEDICATED to a LIFETIME of putting in REAL work into the relationship EVEN WHEN YOU NO LONGER WANT TO OR DESIRE TO. Ppl just quit on each other when it gets too hard. But do men give up on their career goals when it's too hard? No. Do they stop working on their workout routines when they don't want to? No. People need to realize that if they want a relationship to last, they need to put the same amount of dedication into building and maintaining those relationships. Sadly, I find that most men are unwilling to be vulnerable enough with a woman, and to face their fears. They're refusing to FEEL and face their past traumas in order to heal. When we heal, we're going to recognize the fake from the real ones. Anyway, that's my take on all that.

Wow! This video really touched me. I have done all of this but still, my relationship failed. My ex broke up with me out of nowhere and honestly, I have nothing bad to say about him or our relationship. I’m now watching this video because he came back after 2 months of no contact saying he bought some gifts for me. he brought them to my place and we saw each other, he apologized for how he ended things abruptly and said he cares about me and he wanted to show me that and let me know I’m a wonderful and strong woman. I told him he needs to figure out what he wants and what is going on with him and tears came out of his eyes. Honestly, after watching this video I can tell he walked away because of him because he needs to work on himself but I don’t know if he ever will come back :( and just thinking about made me sad and heartbroken because I love him but I do respect his decision.

Yeah people and their peace drive me a bit up the wall tbf. I always watch out for those who say they want no drama… life is drama. And most of the time they’re looking for a barbie doll in a box. They have all the “crazy” exes… want their peace but don’t bring any to their SO. Shove petroleum on a burning match and let it burn into flames and wonder what the fuck is going on when it explodes… There is a masculinity crisis and it’s a shambles. First things first… women are women. We are hormonal. We are emotional. And if you want mystery and allure and desire and passion, as well as loyalty and commitment and stability - recognise that it comes at a fair price and please try and understand the opposite sex. Not repress us so much into a state of zen submission that we end up emotionally exhausted and drained but hide it and die of cancer at 48 cos it had to come out somewhere. Being the perfect woman shouldn’t cost you your sanity just for a man who is less than. Oftentimes when women fulfil this ideal role for men, they are often decreasing inside and usually end up being the dude’s therapist or mother. It’s a shocker what lengths people are going to in order to find love.

Thank you for sharing. It happened something similar to me, but he's surely an avoidant. It's difficult to bring peace to someone who doesn't the same with you. They are fine with you at the beginning, but it is not sufficient. I was SO proudly vulnerable and he treated me poorly anyway. My exciting vision of sharing with love seemed to be an alien planet to this man. My standards were told but he found his ways to skip them and when we are in love it's not easy to keep boundaries.

Keep yourself strong, be clear about your boundaries and if someone 'suddenly commits' try not to get carried away. They're gonna have to capable of putting work in to get 'there'. Plus if it turns out they can't, it's way harder to get out if you live together than if you separately. Also beware highly narcissistic people, it will start great and end up mega disasterous.

Picking up quickly that the guy I was dating was dismissive avoidant, I made a point to keep everything peaceful and conflict/drama-free in our interactions, especially so when he was the first to be vulnerable with me and I soothed him after the fact. Although, it was difficult creating an exciting vision for the relationship when we were both homebodies and I worried that talking too much of a future together so early on would scare him away. Communicating standards didn't happen much either, as he seemed to naturally have all the same ones as I did. That is, until he ended things over text 2 and a half months in, during a time when it felt like things had seemingly been going really well between us. He blamed it on an external life change (which seems in line with what's said here about not being able to blame it on me due to only bringing him peace) but when I gave him the benefit of the doubt (against my better judgment, I guess) and opted to leave the door open for the future, I never got a response. He really seemed like a perfect match for me before that. Oh well.

You stated he was dismissive avoidant and it seems to me that’s why he broke it off. It was too much for him to handle that he might be becoming attached bc that’s the worst arrangement. They do not relate well so it may have literally scared him. My husband does this when he’s feeling close. It’s obvious now but wasn’t back when our children were little.

Most men don’t commit easily, specially if they’re young. They are like peacocks looking on how to attract as many women as they can. They are mostly inmature and don’t have a need to commit. Too many free women around… if you can get the milk for free, why buy the cow mentality. Moral standards and life principles too low nowadays. Men mostly mature and look for commitment after 38 or so… Be well And blessings from above.

Being a bit older now, I can honestly say that all this analysis of a person’s personality and attachment style is pointless. Most people will raise the bar for someone they truly are attracted to and respect I’m a terribly disorganized person. My boyfriend isn’t. I’ve been inspired to really see the beauty in things and presenting things at their best. He DID not want to feel like he was losing his independence and didn’t see himself getting serious. But he has. We just spent the holidays at each others family’s. It’s two very different examples of how habits and feelings change when you just approach things with the idea that honesty, respect, and yes, some chemistry are all you really need to worry about. Plenty of wrong guys will leave, but the right one will stay.

Well me with my boyfriend had peace... he even told me I gave him peace! But he did whatever with our relationship... deceived me, lied to me and started coming in and out... I got hurt and angry Yesss and I put a limit to our relationship... Now it looks he would like to come back but I don't see him changed... really... unless he opens his heart again to me and stops listening to his toxic friends and family... I won't go back... He needs to grow up... I thought I was with a man now I realize he is a child...😞 so now I'll see what he comes up with next... I really love him but I'm not his mother... And he's stubborn anyway because we have talked about these things...

I have been doing this for years, having a trusting relationship, doing fun things, showing my standards, and being peaceful without drama. I hit roadblocks or get ghosted. I don’t get it. I’m not as vulnerable about past relationships and my hardships, because it’s in the past. I always believed, I can’t change the past so move on to today. Who wants to talk about past relationships, I try to enjoy the day and time now. What am I doing wrong here? I am getting to the point that I don’t trust that anyone will stay.

Being vulnerable doesn’t necessarily mean you need to share past experiences. There are other ways of making oneself vulnerable, but honestly I believe the problem is with the culture through television programming and social media. People are not grounded and are unable to truly connect to others as they should. It’s a sin problem.

There's 4 simple things a man needs before he decides to commit: 1) Trust that she's loyal to him and only him. 2) She brings peace instead of turmoil. 3) She's a team player. 4) Good Physical intimacy These are VERY powerful if a woman has these things for a man. Thanks Matthew, always an inspiration for my channel.

@@vylet2292 It has nothing to do with him not being happy with himself. That's mumbo jumbo. A man doesn't commit when: 1. He's a player. 2. He thinks you're not attractive enough to be his girlfriend.... obvious sign being that he doesn't introduce you to friends and family 3. He believes you are "easy". Any other reason will be a made up excuse.

A woman can't really bring the peace into a relationship if it was not something she was getting from her surroundings and parents. Most angry women have faced a great deal in life. So guys need to understand this instead of making it a marker for not committing.

How do you communicate the first step - having an exciting vision - to someone you are not yet commited with? Like how does that work in practice. One thing is having it, another is showing it without it being ... sales-like?
@carmenkamberos1156
@carmenkamberos1156 Жыл бұрын
My dear, without commitment how could there be a vision for the future? If a guy does not commit after 2 or 3 years, never mind, time to have a serious conversation. If no commitment, time to quit. They’re plainly not interested in you seriously. Quitting time. Harsh but true. Blessings from above..

Just wondering if you have any advise regarding Online LDR (since COVID happened). How do I get out of this situationship? Hope you see this.. I've been a fan for 3 years now! :)

This is such a wonderful and broad way of explaining the journey of possibly having the power in the moment to run with a relationship. And what to look for in terms of what we want to run to. I have found love dropped in my life very fast and very quickly. Especially in terms of how the other person felt. I realized how much I had a tin man heart, and how I had to recover from it. I have a choice to make that is for sure. And when I saw this video it got me really optimistic about running forward! Not only does this person seem to want to be patient in my trauma undoing and personal involvement, they want to build with me , and this video helped me have the strength to definitely possibly let down my guard and go forward! Thank you so much for pulling so much wisdom out of your pocket in terms of love and sharing it with the world. 😎💫💥🦋 ~Aurora Borealis 💫Sunboundlady

Can I ask a question? Is that passion of falling in intense love something related to younger people like 20s and up to 35 or so, and then 35 and over is when you become more cerebral and practical in your love choices? Just wondering if this is a thing as I notice in myself as being older, I refuse to fall for a guy just because he is hot as I am seeking a deeper mental compatiblity at the outset and not driven by animal lust
