@TheGodEmperorofMankind as someone who was in an abusive relationship with a narcissist, Matt is 100% correct. That guy spoke about his exes saying how crazy they were and the crazy things they would do, but after 2 years I realised they were perfectly normal but he messed with their head and mine. He was really fond of manipulation and gaslighting, of saying things then pretending you imagined it, or not saying anything then claiming you forgot etc. A narcissist is destructive to your mental health. A man might be unfortunate and have 1 insane ex, but when a guy says ALL his exes were crazy, RUN AWAY. And anyone who says ALL women are inherently crazy is just blaming them for his own inadequacies and should be ignored (he's probably used to being ignored by women anyway)
@yazajag5 жыл бұрын
@TheGodEmperorofMankind It's called gaslighting, do some research on Narcissistic Personality Disorder, psychopaths and sociopaths, higher percentage are men, and sorry, but both men and women can be crazy and usually are because of either childhood abused or abuse in relationships, so no need to hate on actual proven facts. Go date someone who says all their exes are crazy and watch how fast you start to question your own sanity. The blame game is a HUGE red flag. Including your comment. 🆘️

@@AG-vp1ok Sorry for the long text incoming: you know, I already struggle with a personality disorder. But after going to a therapist I finally found how to balance everything. Myself, my life, the people around me. It was just fine. So my ex came into my life and wanted me to instantly move to his place. I said I have an important role at home, i have responsibilities to take care of. But all he said was "I thought you wanted this relationship and that you are ready. Because this is what I expect from a relationship. It's one of my needs to have the person I love right beside me." So I tried to convince my family, 3 people who need me, to accept me leaving them behind. For one person. One, that wanted HIS way and only his. He made me fight against people who wished nothing but luck and they knew - whatever they say I won't accept it. And all because he said things like "You are my world. I want you. I can't live like this. This is so stressful to me." So when I plead for more time and that he shall respect my decisions (to see if he's worth the pain) he said "You always say i should respect your choices". He really cost me all my nerves. He caused a lot of damage and i allowed that because i thought he is the only one who will ever love me and where i get the love i longed for (issues due to personality disorder). They are a red fleg on their own. And they will suck all energy out of you like a tick sucks blood. They manipulate you and it becomes harder and harder to escape from them...

I don't say I AM looking for a serious, committed, monogamous relationship. I then change the subject, talk about something else. He has told you the truest thing about himself, and no need to dwell on it. I don't get my hopes up, no matter how good he looks on paper. He doesn't want what I want, so no harm, no foul. I also don't respond immediately to his texts, emails, calls. Men will be intrigued by your indifference, and that makes the pursuit all the more exciting for them. Just remember, they've told you they don't want what you want. Move on.

He's obviously attracted to her but he doesn't want to come across desperate. So, he asked Sharon why she's single. What he really wanted to know was, "are you talking to anyone right now? Because to me you're beautiful and can get any man you want so I'm insecure" Stop making everything about some societal hot topic. It's true, double standards exist in both sexes. But you'll be miserable if you always interpret a clearly innocent question as somehow an attack. Change your perspective on things. It's not always about you.

I never like it when guys ask how it is I'm still single. I think it's a loaded question and that there's no right answer here. Clearly, the guy is trying to suss out much male interest she receives and when she was last in a relationship. It just always annoys me and I'm often tempted to say, you're asking the wrong person. You need to ask the men who've not recognised a great opportunity when they've seen it. I would never ask a man this question and I think it's best to avoided at all costs.

if I asked someone how they're single I would mean it as a compliment
@tinaperez73934 жыл бұрын
You're right to see this as a red flag. It's the number one most hated and insulting "question" guys ask girls on dates. To me, it tells me right away they're a jerk. Matt has this completely right. Don't ever defend yourself. I would say that "wow, that's an odd thing to ask. Do women ask you that?" OR "Am I supposed to not be single?" OR "I don't understand. It's sounds like you think being single is something that should be explained or defended" OR "Do you want me to be seeing someone now?" OR "Aren't you single?" "Is there something wrong with that?" OR "I don't understand, are you looking for someone to have an affair with? - like the Ashley Madison app?" OR "Are you looking for someone to cheat with you?" "Are you looking to cheat on someone you're seeing?" OR "I'm sorry, I thought we're here to do something about that." AND/OR "Well, I figured the right guy for me will be glad I was single when we meet. So, if my being single is an problem for you or you're just not interested, that's perfectly fine and we can go now.". Etc. As to getting to know the answer to that question if it's asked in a genuinely decent way with the right intentions - and at the right time - to get to know you better - you want to have an answer ready that is truthful, short and not too detailed and positive and confident. Like "I feel I'm at a good place in my life where I know what I have to offer and what I want and I feel it's a good time to meet someone to build a great future with."

Matthew, dude, you are not only superbly informative, but hilarious into the bargain! And what's so amazing to me is that men in my dating pool (60-70) are using the same tired phrases! What cracks me up is that by the time I process that some male is trying to chat me up, almost simultaneously, I realize I need the "cro-magnon man translator" book because señor douchey has just parlayed a lame phrase I've seen in your videos! I hope the young women here really take all your info to heart. Memorize it so it's at the forefront of your mind. Practice with your girlfriends. Men only speak the truth when they say, "I'm not looking for anything long-term," "I just want to have fun," "Hey, I'll call you sometime(aka 'never')"! Your answer should always be, "hey! That's great! It was so fun to meet you. Gotta go!" And then leave, and immediately delete his number. Oh yeah, he'll call or text you 3-6 months later, wanting to hook up, but you can honestly say, "Did we meet? I'm having trouble remembering...were you the doctor who helps in the free clinic? The guy who volunteers at the food bank once a week? The man who walks his old lady neighbor's dog? I can't remember who you are."

I already posted a comment how I disagree with this narrative so here: This does not accurately portray how a man thinks. This might just be me but if I ask a girl: "how come you're single?" I'm not expressing my insecurities or desires to know her flaws, I'm interested in her past dating life and looking for things that have gone wrong that I can improve on. Like a guy being a dick and her dumping him or her standards being "too high" for many guys. I am looking on how *I* can improve to make it more enjoyable for *her* . The only one I semi agree with is the porn one; if I say I don't watch it it's so she doesn't think the only thing I want in this relationship is her body, in fact the reason I will watch porn is to compensate for the fact that she may not want that much of a physical relationship, so then I get physical pleasure whilst mentally pleasuring both of us. I'm just saying, men's words aren't this cryptic; it's not opposite day every day for us, we simply try to please others and don't open up about our true selves if we fear that the person we are trying to please will dislike it. I'm not hating, I like a lot of your other videos and think a lot of your dating advice is useful and both women and men can take something out of it. But this? This is *harmful* to a relationship if you think that everything he's saying is cryptic and twisted and opposite. Again, I want to stress that I'm not hating. But this is misinformed at best, generalising the worse aspects most likely, and false at worst. Pushing this will be harmful to relationships. Please rethink things like this. If you are going to argue with me, please keep it civil and we can have an argument/debate. Yours sincerely Bye. An anonymous person on KZbin.
