When people go through immeasurable emotional, physical and emotional pain and struggles, physical attractiveness becomes secondary. You learn to access an inner strength you never know is hiding there. That’s where the true beauty is and it radiates outwardly.

I stopped caring about what people think years ago when I realised that EVERYONE is flawed and insecure. Worrying about what they think only elevates others above me. I am unique and valuable in God's eyes. No one else's opinion matters. Compliments are just a bonus, nothing more.

Some of the most attractive people in my eyes haven't been the most conventionally attractive people. I don't need a man who is "perfect", I prefer a man who makes me feel perfectly loved in spite of my flaws. How can't I not love him back and be loyal to him? Btw, Matthew Hussey is extremely attractive and his openness just makes him seem stronger.

Not dating now(haven't for 3 years) and it is so nice. No pressure, no stress. I might date in a few more months, but it will have to be just easy or stress free or I think I will just pass! It has just been so peaceful to not worry about being attractive to others or trying to attract. It is a good feeling.

Fascinating. How did you bring yourself to this “go easy on yourself” state? Was it a feeling that came over you randomly one day? Was it slow day to day struggle to rationalize your feelings? Was it an experience that helped push your mind over a certain threshold? Or is it something that you find difficult to describe even today especially with all that time that had passed? (Which is fine of course….who really has all the answers anyway).

I think “the secret” is found in being vulnerable with one another. I have made a goal to be vulnerable and honest and authentic with everyone I meet until they give me reason to be otherwise. It’s been a steep learning curve but I feel so much more present than I used to with this practice. Thanks for your vulnerability, Matthew.
@MarinaB63
@MarinaB63 2 жыл бұрын
I agree! Although being vulnerable opens us up to being hurt by those who cannot appreciate us or are not right for us, it also opens us up to receiving the love that we are giving out. Being vulnerable shows that we are confident enough to take a chance and to survive rejection. The saying that 'it is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all' is indeed true. It hurts like hell to make ourselves vulnerable, only to end up alone yet again. But, unless we take a chance on getting hurt, we are also blocking all chances of being happy. The other option to opening up and being vulnerable is to live like robots, never allowing ourselves to feel anything, but that's pretty much akin to being dead. I'm saying this in the midst of healing a broken heart from having recently ended a relationship with someone who was simply not as in love with me as I was with him. Yet, I have absolutely no regrets about the time that we spent together and I would do it all over again. So I'm not giving up on myself or on love! Because I'm not content with just having a pulse. I want to feel and be alive!

For me I've been divorced for a year now and I'm 40 and no children, but want children. Since I'm back in the dating pool a lot of guys that i encounter don't want children or already has them and are good with the ones that they have, so for me it's making the decision to have them on my own and being ok with that. Maybe later down the line I'll meet someone, but if I continue to hold off until I do then I could choose the wrong person and then be stuck with that person for life. Also be content where you are at this moment in your life. It's ok if you aren't killing it right now. Take a breath regroup and start again.

To add, I'm almost 43 and I have been single for such a long time. It makes me feel bad about myself and I go back and forth with the fear that it won't happen for me. Friends and family around me are in relationships and getting engaged and it makes me feel that there is something wrong with me otherwise wouldn't a wonderful guy want to be with me? I do believe I have a lot t to offer but I feel I never get noticed, picked and to top it I don't meet people. My social life is embarrassing and I feel a part of me is becoming someone I don't like because my true self is fading. I want to keep my chin up that 2022 is my year!

I'm 47 and in a similar situation. I only in recent years realized how I was looping negative self self talk and believing all the unkind lies aimed at me by outside influences and then myself since day dot. I saw how I'd attach a story to that pain rising to my heart, then I'd bottle it back up with the new story and label attached and store it back on that inner shelf . The pain and stories I attached to it basically amounted to "I'm not good enough". I see from your comment that you'll understand what I'm saying. Now to the crux of the biscuit, which is my new way: if I feel that sharp vintage pain begin to rise in my gut coming to cripple my self worth.... instead of attaching a fresh story and label to it ie, "why bother, I should just forget it now and save myself the pain,give up, she'd never be interested with me I'm not good enough" etc and storing it back on the inner shelf to fester for next time ,I now let it come up and I FEEL it. I feel it and fully experience it for as long as It comes. Sometimes it gets intense and I'll bawl my eyes out like a young child. I allow it all. As long as I don't attach a story/unkind lie/poor me label to it and just allow myself to feel it rise and pass, that's what it does. The pain has nothing to attach to so it leaves making my heart feel lighter and my mind clear and at ease. After all these years I've finally comprehended all this, how to feel my emotions and simply observe them at the same time knowing they aren't me and "this too will pass". I experience the emotion for what it is, allow it to run it's course and let it leave making my next step on the path available. I'm still single and learning to love myself, I don't know exactly how much more I have yet to release nor when or how it will come up again, I expect I have a lifetime's worth but it's ok because now I know how to let it go and not go into limiting fear again. Excuse the novel, this is the first time I've written this out or tried to explain it to anyone but i felt prompted. Maybe you're way past this stage or maybe there's something helpful. Anyway I hope you're happy and content and you finally win your life's lotteries like you deserve. Ciao.

I was walking past this group of guys and heard one of them say you could wake up next to her and all of them started laughing. I new I was attractive because I had so many people attracted to me. But that has always stuck with me and shortly after I good in a shituation with a narcissist and then someone who made me always feel like I was worthless because that is how he felt and made me doubt myself constantly. I didn’t connect to his essence. Now I am trying to get over this past and worry about myself. There’s this guy at work I am into and I see all the ‘signs’ he likes me but he has yet to make a move. Maybe because we work together and he seems insecure himself. Now I am like wtf is wrong with me lol so now I am watching your videos to find the confident girl I know I am. We shouldn’t care what people feel but.. fuck it right! Wish me luck. Thank you for what you do!

Matt, you are so right. True attraction does involve being relaxed with all our imperfections. We are all imperfect. Ironically when someone is relaxed with your imperfections it creates the most fertile ground for your own desire to change something if you want to, if the time is right to do that. You become a more attractive man to me if you own and relax with your imperfections. A deeper and more powerful man. And yes, your standards and preferences do come through even so.

100%!! I think it also comes with the level of maturity, which very often comes with more life experience. Also, it only takes a few decent people we can get along with around us to make all the difference in feeling more accepted. We're social beings after all, so that sense of belonging matters a lot. I've noticed I can attract much better people when I'm being more truthful about who I am instead of going out of my way to fit certain expectations.

I'm learning more about it each day. It's quite a tough mental exercise. The funny thing is that in a day that I've done basically nothing, just wore a giant shirt and shorts, my confidence (for some reason) skyrocketed. I felt really proud. You’re right, Matt, that self-worth and confidence should not come from things that are changeable- looks, relationships, finances, health status, etc. There’s a quote, “Know who you are and whose you are.” Our identity should be found in Jesus Christ. That’s who we are- children of God and he loves each of us very much and always will. There is nothing we can do that is too bad to keep him from loving us. “For you created my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” He knows everything about us, even the number of hairs on our head! “Indeed, the very hairs on your head are all numbered.” We do not need to worry. We can have confidence in Gods promise “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Do Not Worry 25“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life e ? 28“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you-you of little faith? 31So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

I've honestly never cared about my appearance or had any issues with it until I lost a lot of weight and started to get female attention. I went from nobody paying attention to me to women fighting for my attention. It killed my self-esteem because it was at that point that I realized the only thing that matters is my appearance. When I gained weight back the attention stopped altogether and that just solidified the idea that the only thing that matters is looks.

Looking good shows that you have self-discipline in regards to maintaining your health, and thus self-respect, which ultimately stems from self-love. Your looks are a good marker of showing how healthy you are: a depressed person has to climb an uphill battle to maintain a gym routine, eat healthy, and maintain good hygiene all-around, let alone having the self-esteem to care about their style and appearance. Someone who puts in the work wants to hang out with other people with the same vibe of putting in the work. I hope this opinion helps shift your perspective from thinking basing someone on their looks is entirely shallow. Best wishes to your future hard work and success. 💪

Interesting that I see this video today after an interview in which I spoke about the many hate comments that I received due to one of my videos, and yes, I had the tendency to justify myself but you are right, that just takes the power away from me and gives it to my haters and that's just not right! xx

We can pray that people be tired of insecurities, especially physical insecurities. Even for people who work on camera, there is team that will take care of the appearance so the audience gets a lot more to enjoy. See, our body feature is meant to be embraced, because it is the bonus to our confidence.

I see a theme today... outside tonight dancing in the driveway under the stars, Whitney Houston's "Greatest Love of All" randomly played on my Pandora... then this video is top of my feed as I wind down for the night. Love YOUrself More!!! We are all beautiful magical beings💃💜💚

I'm just binging your videos lately. I even helped some guy to get the girl he wants using your advices LOL. I have never had problems with love life, but lately my great love left and I felt down and like noone will ever love me again. Your vlogs helped me to get better and get some self consciousness and self esteem back. Thank you for the work you are doing and I wish more people would be so emotional grown up as you are. I love your sense of humor as well. Take care Matt, and keep on doing the great work!

I think when we really learn to be honest with ourselves & be vulnerable with the "right" people in our lives & with the Almighty too...of course, at least for me...then our flaws and weaknesses become part of our strengths when one learns to transmute those areas of our character or "flaws" and also making peace with our dark side as well as with our physical aspects if any thar one has to come to make peace with. Being authenticly us has a price to pay & Confidence is born our of us as one learns step by step with dedication to overcome our own fears & Insecurities & what others have to say too. Nowadays other people are too focused on other's people's lives instead of focusing on themselves and how to improve themselves & their mental & emotional state after all. A healthy spirit leads to a healthy mind and a healthy mind & spirit also leads to a healthy body & habits in life. Ps: and then one will attract the right types of people according to our own authenticity as well as our levels of health or personal/internal healing. Humility is also a game changer to achieve that paired with consistency & much more. 😋😜

Although I'm in my mid 20s, I do agree with what you've mentioned in this video. Glad that I chance upon this video in my subscription. If there's one thing that I totally live by the most is acceptance, totally life-changing. Such a great content!

This never gets old. 🙏What an internal struggle. Some days, weeks and even months I am completely confident regardless of difficulties, so called flaws 💪😤but sometimes I feel so stuck and I watch myself beat myself up while I fumble around behaving insecure. 😔😭desparately sabotaging what I really want 😆 two different aspects weak or strong these are lessons💘 next heartbeat thats strong is that much more stable & more stronger than before. You cannot fake confidence. Genuine confidence feels sooo good.

Mathew, you’re so handsome that even with no hair you’d still look great. Your kindness, manners, politeness are your greatest assets! Being neat and assured of yourself is all that matters. So what if u get a zit or an extra kilo while on camera, real people don’t care for that but for the content of your message. Unhappy people criticize, happy people praise….

I'm in a position right now where I am not where I want my body to me but I am focused on obtaining my goal by committing to my workouts and eating healthier but at the same time I am trying not to obsess because I have a tendency of being very harsh towards myself. It's not easy but watching inspirational videos such as yours is so helpful! Thank you!
