My first stay in Paris was at the Opera Cadet Hotel on Rue Cadet in the 9th. Looking out the fourth floor window onto that walking street was like peeking in on French life. I watched people walking their dogs carrying fresh baguettes under their arms as they shopped for dinner on their way home. It was enchanting. We have spent time in the 9th every time we have returned to Paris since that first trip 25 years ago. Thanks for the nice memories. We love your presentations!

So well done! Thank you for your hard work, Arielle! I lived in Paris for 4 years and, you are right, so wish I knew more history about all the places we visited daily, it would have added to the experience.

I appreciate that you go through the history of an area before doing the tour. I already know a lot of the history from spending so much time in Paris (I am a history geek) but there are always new things I learn from you. I used to love August in Paris. Yes, a lot of closures, but I loved feeling as if I sort of had the city to myself. Architecture, parks & many other things came into focus in a way that isn't possible with the busy congested streets when the city is not en vacances. And so many of the musees lacked their usual crowds which was a real joy. I especially remember an intimate day at the Musee de Rodin which was amazing.

The best arrondissement in Paris! Living near the bottom of Rue des Martyrs, I can get to Montmartre, Palais Royal, or Opera in 15 min, but why would you want to leave? From Rue Cadet, Rue des Martyrs, the Passages, Av Trudaine, Rue Notre Dame de Lorette, St George, etc. The best coffee, restaurants, food shops, and bars, etc. 😊

I love these videos, I know they take a long time but it's evident as to why. Your in-depth historical research and composed narrative is fantastic and truly engaging. I watch several content creators that are showing this & that about living in Paris but you have a more unique take with a personable style, showing deeper content to what Paris is without all the insipid navel gazing (I won't name names). You are adorable (I say this every time but it's true). Can't wait to see the rest.

(from Sharon, Australia) Dear Arielle, just a quick message to say a huge merci for making these vlogs detailing the arrondissement of Paris. My husband and I have been fortunate enough to have visited Paris and regional France 3 times and excitedly, coming again next June. I watched your whole video on the 9th, and although we spent a whole day during our last visit seeing the passages of Paris and the Galleries Lafayette, we will absolutely visit the other museums that you mention. I need to make some time to watch the other videos! You are a breath of fresh air:))

Hi Arielle, I really enjoy your history of the arrondissements. I am traveling to Paris in October 2024. We are staying in the 19th Arrondissement (can't change the location without a charge). I have now learned it is not the safest place to stay. Would you happen to have any advice on safety for the area?
@Ariellelaparisienne4 ай бұрын
Honestly there are some really AWESOME areas in the 19th you will love it. Make sure you check out the canal and the park de la Villette ! There are certainly some less safe spots in the 19th, but there are spots like that all over the city so don’t stress ☺️ you’ll just want to avoid hanging out around the train station and the metro station Chapelle

Does the grand Rex have English showings ? ( would it be indicated as AVP on their website ?)

“AVP” means “avant première” which js before the official release. “VO” means original voice which if it’s an English movie will be English with French subtitles ! I hope that’s clear ☺️

Porte St Denis and Porte St Martin have nothing to do with the 9th… Not a word about La Nouvelle Athenes… Are you sure you know the 9th at all ? And please pronounce the names correctly.

Very informative, but PLEASE, stop flapping your hands around while you talk ! It's bad enough the French do it, but at least for them it is a genetic flaw... You look more like you're explaining tomorrow's weather.... ❤😊
