I know this is a month ago now - but you did a great job and it's really great to see younger people really stepping up and doing their research when it comes to bunnies! The fact that your bun just jumped on your lap day 3 is insane and is a great indicator that he's going to be such a cuddly rabbit. A lot of us have to build that level of trust over an entire month or even more, so clearly he is very happy in his space and comfortable with you.

Regarding the lap thing, it honestly really depends, because it's not always dependent on the owner, if you get your rabbit from a petstore or a breeder, than they're definitely most likely going to behave that way because they're handled when they're young, however, if you adopt a bunny, they will probably not feel comfortable the first few days or weeks and that doesn't mean the owner isn't being amazing, loving, or doing a terrible job, it's just the way they're brought up. Personally I feel like those who shop for bunnies have an easier experience because they were taught to be agreeable, but when you adopt a bunny they come from all sorts of backgrounds. I'm just throwing this out for the newcomers here, just in case they put themselves down because their bunny isn't necessarily affectionate with them or comfortable with their touch when they first get them. It's natural anyways, but yeah :)

So cute! Brownie is so cute!! I am so glad you did your research! Your set up looks really cute :) it’s normal for bunnies to poop everywhere when they’re in a new territory they never went to before so don’t worry he won’t do it forever! as a bunny owner, it is good to see that a new bunny owner has done their research and gotten a pen instead of a cage. I have 3 at home and they are free roam of a room for most of the day and when we arent home or at night they are in a pen. One tip is to save money and use a box with a hole cut in it instead of an expensive hidey house that your bunny might chew through in a matter of weeks

I'm so glad to see someone who has done their research on bunnies and creates an approproate space instead of a small petstore cage. For litter training just be consistent with putting everything back in his litterbox consistently and get him fixed when hes the appropriate age, which will help A LOT with litter training. For male bunnies it also helps to avoid spraying behavior to mark terratory.

Hii here’s a few tips for you
@sanaahanaa5475 Жыл бұрын
Did the bunny tell you this? Please stop treating your bunny as a baby. It’s not a baby it’s an animal, a pet! I live in a small apartment with a small play pen for my dwarf bunny and she’s as happy as can be. She stays in her pen and I let her free roam a few hours a day then back in the play pen she goes. Animals can survive without all this extra stuff too so stop babying them!
@Mellanii.always Жыл бұрын
@@sanaahanaa5475 um I was being extremely friendly and was just recommending some fun things to add to the cage and bunny’s are social animals. They need a friend unless they are aggressive or not spayed. I don’t see your point?
@Devilishka7 Жыл бұрын
@@sanaahanaa5475 Of course they can survive with smaller space too. But can't tell others not to baby them. If someone wants to and have the means to spoil their bun, then why not? Pets are like babies to some of us and they're equally as loved.
@klover_leaf Жыл бұрын
@@Mellanii.alwaysrabbits are not social! They only get along with other rabbits when they're spayed/neutered. Which is obviously a Red flag. If they have to be desexed to "bond" it is NOT natural. @erikaschmidt63162 жыл бұрын
@@rufzelaguilar4291 Neutered means that your pets reproductive organs have been removed. I don’t know about other animals but in bunnies this can help with territorial behaviors, being less aggressive, and help them to be litter trained better and faster. You don’t need your bunny to be neutered, and all the things that I previously mentioned can happen even if it’s not neutered. It definitely helps, but there is a recovery process.
@rufzelaguilar42912 жыл бұрын
@@erikaschmidt6316 I see thanks for answering my question 😊

It's recomended to neuter bunnies because they become easier to handle and easier to pair with another bunny (in the best worlds bunnies should always have a friend and boys and girls are easiest to pair and the they need to be neutered for obvious reasons). Another huge reason is cancer, specially among female bunnies about 70% will get ovarian cancer unneutered and who wants that, so just giving this warning why neutering is important specially for bunnies.

Hey just a tip from someone that has 2 bunnies, bunnies prefer their litter box to be in a corner because it’s more private for them, so I would switch where their house is to where the litter box is and Vice versa. I would recommend getting a gallon water bowls if you know what I’m talking about it saves you a lot more time rather than filling up water every single day. Try to rotate their toys because they get bored easily. Once the bunnies old enough consider space/neuter because it’s better for them in the long run and there’s a lot of benefits for that. Also baby rabbits can pick up litter training easily but once their hormones kick in and puberty gets them the litter training thing will probably stop that happened to me and I was really upset but it stopped once I got my boy neutered. You are doing great though I love the set up

Hii Hanna, Brownie is absolutely lovely 🥰 I got some tips that I learnt from owning a bunny too: - I see you have some cables hanging from your desk, I advise you to get those as tucked away as possible and perhaps find something to bunny proof them with, as I lost a lot of chargers and electronics due to my bunny chewing them and he could potentially hurt himself. It only takes about a second for them to bite the wires and destroy them forever. 😄 - For the litter training, if he isn’t neutered yet, definitely get that sorted as it will help you A LOT with potty training. And would recommend not letting him on your bed unsupervised as they tend to enjoy peeing there. - Make sure the hay feeder is not too high up, being low is better than too high. - You can craft some toys for him, they love to chew on empty toilet rolls and it’s not bad for them, as long as they don’t eat it in excess. All bunnies are different but I hope that helps. “Lennon the bunny” KZbin Channel is great for tips and tricks! Enjoy! 🐰💕

Yesss!! I love how you actually researched buns! So my tip for potty training, i wouldn’t let him free roam right away. Keep him confined temporarily until he learns his litter box. Then gradually open up the space once his Hobbits are in control. Also don’t forget to get that boy neutered! Makes the potty training much easier. You also don’t really need a hay rack. Some rabbit peps feel it makes it harder for them to get hay and it’s not natural for them to eat from above (usually buns eat grass from ground). You can just put it in his litter box. It’s something to think about it. The topic is often debated. I personally don’t use hay racks. Great example of a proper bun set up!!! You had me scared when you said cage 😅😆👍💕 best luck to you and bunny brownie!! 🐰

I use litterbox liners they're like garbage you put in the box and it really makes cleanup easy and keeps the box clean and you don't have to scrub it at all

Also cat tunnels are great toys, baby stacking cups, baby keys & oxbow toys!! A plain cardboard box with 2 entry/exit holes are also a big hit!!

You did a great job, just as Brownie gets older you may want to get a larger cage. Also, his head may get stuck in the hay rack so it may be easier to just put the hay in the litter box.

You did a great job in setting up and getting prepared for your bunny. I use a puppy pee pad (only use if bunny doesn't chew it) and put it inside an inexpensive plastic storage container with low sides. I just add a thin layer of hay inside the litter box instead of filler. My bun used to kick out the filler and make a mess. Congrats again on your new bun.

Hi!! Make sure to feed him Alfalfa hay until he’s about 6 months old! Babies need alfalfa hay instead of Timothy hay to make sure they get all their nutrients!🥰

Or a mixed of both is good so when it comes time to wean him he'll be fine to do so. :)

@@Zoeclarke01 True, my bunny ignored timothy for days when I introduced her to it. I was afraid she couldn't move on from alfalfa, but I kept mixing both hays, gradually increase the amount of timothy and decrease the amount of alfalfa.

I'm so glad you did your research everything looks good but I hope you're giving your rabbit more hay because that doesn't look like enough you should try giving your rabbit more and also you should try getting a hide out with two holes that way the rabbit won't feel trapped etc it's not the best to have one with only one hole, this video is 5 months old do idk if you have gotten a bigger litter box but if you haven't already you should but other then that you're doing a great job! 💖💖

hi I know this is late but just a tip on the hay rack ur bun can get his head stick and it's hard for them to get the hay out. hay bags with big opening are great and a safer and easier option. or u can put the hay in the litter box buns know what hay is good to eat and what hay has pee on it. no hate just a tip if u didn't know :)

Heyy i love your set up its amazing and super neat. Just one concern is that he will chew up the wires and also if he chews up the wrong one he might get electrocuted, so make sure you put wire protections!! Good luck
