Hi Leon I started your classes 2 weeks ago. From what I understand so far from your classes is that to be successful through self taught, we need to have good networking/social skills. If I am terrible at being social, making friends for coffee chats, and networking, would you recommend I not pursue this bootcamp? Is there anything else I could do to get a job in coding with your bootcamp having extremely poor social skills? Thanks for the advice and free education

A lot of folx start 100Devs with the same feelings. I would recommend working on your behavioral skills in tandem with your technical skills. Read "How to Win Friends & Influence People" and practice those skills each week. Coffee chats, networking, ect are all skills that can be improved.

You're not in a rush. Take your time to go through the course and what leon is suggesting you do. Towards the end you will go over react, and you can continue to learn and build from there. But don't be in a big rush, trust the process and that you're on a good track that someone else has curated for what you learn and when, and keep putting in the work.

If you made it to 40, I would def just continue. The how to get a job classes are the most important and will have the biggest impact on you getting a job. Also, we cover react / assign a fair bit of homework around it so you will be ready

do you have any tips for people who can't get into networking like this? cause right now I'm a clicker but not by choice exactly. it's just that the thought of doing the networking stuff is mentally and emotionally uhh repulsive to me. like their isn't even a thought that comes up. I just hear about the networking stuff and INSTANTLY feel like shit. and the thing is I know it's WAY better than clicking cause you will actually get people looking at your stuff and what you've done. but doing it like this just fucks with my mental. i could probably do a few maybe. definitely not 30. also i'm sorry for the negativity. it's just that i know networking is really important but i'm having trouble mentally with it.

Open the doors you can! Also, most folx can get better at it with time and find it not as repulsive the more they do it. I would recommend talking with a professional that may be able to give you strategies to deal with the mental aspect of things. youarerad.org offers a free way to get mental health support. I would start there and then watch our previous classes on how to network and start on our Discord. Plenty of folx there willing to get you over the initial humps. Also, please read "How to win friends and influence people" - it gave me the structure I lacked to have actual convos with people
