I don't have too many issues with the upright, but if I'm doing some rougher tracks I use a thin plastic chopping board between the door and the shelf to stop small things falling out. I don't have to use trays to keep things in place.

lol, on my trip up there from Tassie back in 1996 my old EK ute crapped it’s dacks heading from Brisbane to the Sunshine Coast in much the same manner! Sudden loss of any power. Much simpler to diagnose when they inevitably break down obviously, but stripped timing gears aren’t something I could have fixed on the road. It cost me un unplanned week in Sunny and a bit over $500 for steel ones to replace the originals, and $120 for towing. How things have changed… Still, I got a half lap in in that beautiful old ute! Up the east coast and down the centre.

I always knew you didn't bury your cooking oil Harry! I reckon that's a very "responsibly-ish" fire on the sand though. It's a travesty so many beach camping spots have been banning campfires. Nice ep. It's often the case on trips that you need to compromise and make the best of a situation. On my lap the 4by got us 'stranded' in Harvey Bay which was brilliant. Better than when it did that in Canberra or Mt Isa!
