Taylor ray is the only remaining car KZbinr I watch bc he’s Remained the same consistent hardworking car guy that’s truly dedicated to his personality and passion to motor sports . He hasn’t changed negatively a bit unlike most of the KZbinrs now, after many years they’ve all changed, but This guy remains awesome and keeps doing awesome things .
@Taylordrifts9 ай бұрын
I’m not liking this as agreeing with the thing about other KZbinrs. But because I appreciate the kind words! I’ve been going through a lot of life changes and trying to stay ontop of content and have gotten some hateful comments saying the channels falling and comments like these make it all worth it! I could hire people and do more and maybe grow More. But the reality is I just wanna build cars and go on cool driving adventures and film it. The money is just the ability to do that.
@mitchell91539 ай бұрын
He works on his own cars! it seems like almost every other youtuber hires someone to work on their stuff, and no longer are the ones that build the cars. With Taylor its like being in the garage hanging with your buds and just having a good time whilst learning a little.
@user-zt2qi6un8z9 ай бұрын
I agree Taylor. These comments make me realize your the only one I watch, even if it’s just you in the background as you do stuff. Keep on doing what makes you happy 😃
@Icessassin9 ай бұрын
Essentially you are saying you enjoy watching Taylor because he has stayed as a KZbinr, he does this as a passion first. Others have turned their passion into a business, and if you are trying to make great content and make incredible builds or drive cars to the max 100% of the time then you as a single person can't do everything yourself. It's not feasible in anyway, you wont have time to film, wont have time to edit, wont have time to wrench, wont have time to race/drift/drag race. Videos would be like once every three months for the same quality of content. Taylor has the charm that goes with his "rough run and gun filming" it isn't so sterile and film production so it does have that you and a mate vibing in a garage. Those "big" guys once were small and had to make tough decisions, either stay making the same content at the same speed they were or take the chance and dive head first into commercializing their channel to be a business with them as a CEO/presenter/talent of their reality garage show. Hell I wouldn't want to know the amount of pressure the people who have turned their YT channels into massive multimillion businesses have on them. Hiring multiple people fulltime isn't a cheap thing and when you make your money off KZbin there's a danger you can face if one day Google decides YT aint worth it anymore and starts charging for under-performing backlog footage or just shutters the doors entirely.

With that exhaust, you could have put a couple rachet straps between two points on either side of the car. For example, I use my frame rails. That would have supported the exhaust much better while you are re-attaching it. We used to use that trick when we would put transmissions in cars. It's actually really handy!
@Taylordrifts9 ай бұрын
That would have worked mint! Next time. Lol assuming I don’t have my transmission jack. With it I just use it in the back. Pole jack in the front and were dialed 😂

I thought the exact same thing as I was watching the video. I've seen it done with transmissions before on KZbin, I believe it was Alex Taylor and her dad working on their 55 during a drag n drive. Such a neat trick. I filed it away figuring I'll use it one day.

@ReEvoluion9 ай бұрын
Tip for dropping full exhaust: use a couple of ratchet straps as a catch net, once you have it fully unbolted you can lower the lift until the exhaust is on the floor and disconnect the straps from the chassis. Lay new exhaust on straps and reinstall. I have used a screw jack and had the same issue you were having, after nearly injuring myself I switch to the strap method.

You can adjust the needles for the main jet. Take off the top cap and pull the needle out from the top. If they are mikuni carbs then there is a c clip that can adjust how far out the needle moves from the jet. Easy 👌
@rustyshackleford82999 ай бұрын
That's for adjusting the fuel mixture while cruising/part throttle. At full tilt the needles should be out of the way and the main jet is the only thing controlling the fueling on that circuit. I went through the same process dialing in the mikuni bike carbs I retrofitted to the L20b in my Datsun station wagon. The quick and dirty way would be to drill out the main jets a bit larger, then re-adjust the needle height to get the fueling right during cruise/part throttle.

The carbon intake is better on the white M3, it is more discrete, so if you get an OEM person they could still appreciate it, and not have to worry about the red air filters. On the 86, see if raising the fuel pressure to about 6 psi helps with the top end. I had an '80's Subaru, and that was where the pressure wanted to live. Lastly, glad to see the Miata getting put back to work. That thing has been a big part of the channel through many revisions (and colors), and it will be good to have it back!
@racer193wr9 ай бұрын
Wish I could afford the 86. My grandfather had one of them that he would beat the tar out of until the day he passed.. he loved driving and that was a good car to have fun in and not break the bank. Also next time your doing an exhaust system by yourself try using a cheap ratchet strap on the back subframe to hold the mufflers and tips up close to the car.
