I enjoy watching you do your hair. It inspires me to be more intentional during my wash day sessions. I’ve been lazy with moisturizing in between wash days but watching you always encourages me to not give up.

Hey Beautiful, I started Chebe again with you!! I must say my hair texture is a lot less frizzy and my hair shaft feels less porous. I do not put the Chebe on my scalp, but sometimes the mixture can fall on my scalp and it itches. I am returning back to my classroom, so I’m going to use the hair grease. I love the smell of the grease. My Mom even said your hair is growing!!! 😂

Hello Book Beauties ! I am so glad the chebe is working for you! I love that hair care companies are incorporating chebe into their products in a more modern way, I love the versatility. Today is wash day and I am traveling this week so I will apply the grease and then when I get back I will apply the powder.

Weird bc the owner of the grease made a video about putting it on the scalp... customers asked "wouldnt it cause scalp irritation" or "i thought you werent supposed to put it on your scalp" but she never answered those comments...and it even says on the jar that it can be applied to scalp. I just wished she would clarify it on her products because it is confusing if you didnt look for a review

Application to the scalp for the grease is going to be a personal decision ( please, please, please do not apply the powder directly to your scalp.) Some companies choose to infuse the chebe into the grease and some choose to add it directly. I love doing my hair lol but I do not have the time wash my hair again should the product irritate my scalp. Cannot chance it!

I can’t wait to try the Shea moisture amla line once I’m done with the products on my shelves. Yes chebe on the scalp is irritating. I try my best with the application process, I use the powder and sometimes I find the fallout on subsequent days does get on my scalp. Still trying to find the best way to oil my scalp between application/wash days without getting the chebe on my scalp.

I love the Shea Moisture Amla line the shampoo does not strip my hair! Let us knowhow you like it. When I first started using the chebe powder I did not apply it close to the scalp. As I got more comfortable I inched closer to my scalp.

Hey Mya! You’ve inspired me to start my chebe journey! Just a few questions: To my understanding, you braid your hair with the chebe powder/mixture and then you twist with the chebe grease, right? So you would apply the powder then refresh with grease until your next wash day? Next, as someone who considers themselves low porosity, what are your thoughts on the Shea Moisture Amla products since you have been using them consistently? I wanted to try them, but I suppose that protein (bond repair?) isn’t good for low porosity hair? Perhaps it’s just that low porosity shouldn’t have too much protein, not necessarily NO protein! But what are your thoughts?

Beautiful hair and skin! Question, I know you're not putting it on the scalp but body heat makes everything melt so how is it not getting on the scalp. Especially when you are pinning it up and wrapping it all around. My scalp is sensitive by the way.
@KlassicallyKept2 ай бұрын
Good morning and thank you! I have not had an issues with itch scalp. Whether you are using the powder or grease if you have a sensitive scalp and you want to make sure you do not get it on your scalp apply the grease or powder lower on you hair shaft. Even with the pinning I have not had an issues.
@amberfrost17962 ай бұрын

How do you wrap your hair without materials that use elastic?

Hello! When I am talking about elastic I was referring to the elasticated bonnet I was wearing under my headwraps as a barrier between my hair and the headwrap itself. Jersey knits dries my hair out. I have stopped using the elasticated bonnet.

Are we not supposed to moisturize our skin either, or clean ourselves, or do anything regarding cosmetic or cleansing ourselves or our homes because that is how it "naturally" is? Why moisturize your hair? You will have to moisturize your hair until death. Why brush your teeth? You will have to do it everyday. Why shower? Should white people never wash their hair when it's greasy because it's nature for that hair type to get oily. You put effort into taking care of things in life, including afro hair. This comment is nonsensical.
@SomeOne-yv8jf5 ай бұрын
@@ev6564 Hair is dead protein. All I do to it is wash it with soap & water, towel dry, detangle, braid, twist, flat twist, cornrow, pony puff, or Afro out. No shampoo, no conditioner, no hair products. My 4C hair grows just fine. People should just say that they love using hair products and the artificial luster it leaves on their hair. Not everyone likes hair products or the fake luster & softness -- that washes off. Hair products are dirty, chemical smelly, nastiness 🤮. I prefer the light, dry & clean feel of hair, so simple and efficient. Things shouldn't be complicated.
@SomeOne-yv8jf5 ай бұрын
@@ev6564 Everyone should shower or bathe and wash the hair and scalp regardless of whether their hair/scalp is oily or dry or straight or coily. That's general cleanliness. However to fight the nature of dry coily hair is nonsensical, it is utter madness. 1). It is a blessing that the hair is dry, a sign of cleanliness in itself. 2). It is another blessing that the hair is coily, a sign of length held in short space, that offers greater protection to the head. Coily hair should not be compared to or "trained to mimic" White people's hair. That is so wrong, it is insane. The two are OPPOSITES of each other. Let each be ITSELF. No crossovers necessary.
