This particular job was much more challenging and labor intensive than what we typically run into. It was tough to show on video since we had to get work done and recording was not possible at some points. Also the wind noise in the mic made quite a bit of footage unusable.
We were both physically used up by the end of this one. In the video it looks like we finished up at sunset when in reality it was around ten thirty at night when we were packed up and rolling out of there. I was so dehydrated I couldn't stand up straight. It took two days for me to get back to feeling normal. I think Pete fared a little better since he doesn't sweat nearly as bad as I do.
Pete took the honey home with him. After processing it he ended up with about two gallons. I didn't ask how much wax he had.
I took the bees with me and set them up in a nuc that belongs to a young man named Gideon. I'll get them fed and doing good and then he and his mom and come pick them up.
The music is Tanqueray & Tonic from Epidemic sound by Martin Baekkevold

Oh totally, I love going all around the yards and houses. The last one I looked at with you was also 4 yrs. ago and you were not sure if we would want to see the ladies garden area. Most definitely! I learned something too, possibly. She had her basil plants separated throughout the rows and columns. She may be using them for pesticide help as well as just seasoning. I will check on that with regard to basil.

Wow, the view at the beginning of the video is nothing short of near perfect weather on a small slice of earthly heaven! I'm from Alabama and a few hours inland but have visited the gulf coast often all my life (55 years and counting) and that's been enough times to know it is as close to a perfect place to live as you will find on this earth! Randy, Pete, never take it for granted what a wonderful place God put you in to live out your lives here. God bless and keep doing what you're doing and for sure keep videoing what you're doing! Love the videos, you almost feel like family at this point.

I go fish in front of that bridge at a pier called Pirate's Landing with the family. At that time, I was struggling to survive and pay my own bills, but I felt humbled someone offered me dinner when I delivered once to where their home was being rebuilt and they were living in tents and potty set up over the canal. I tried to give them money but they refused and I felt a bit ashamed but I needed the money myself it would just be meant a bill go paid late.I still remember that after all these years. @The Bee Guy -- Well, at 0:29, Dirt Rooster said that he wasn't getting a good signature with the FLIR. So he was using thermal imaging (he uses it on every job). He is aware of the danger of bees returning, so he does try to block the original entrance after a removal and he does try to clean up (removing honey and old comb). A problem with removals in this region is that the houses are often located in or near swamps, where there are feral colonies. Those colonies swarm and infest neighboring homes. Another beekeeper on KZbin who does removals, Jeff Horchoff (nickname: "Mr. Ed"), installs swarm catchers on houses that have a history of attracting swarms.

That's how the honey in San Diego tastes and they tell me it's pure honey, I know what real honey tastes like and it's not what's being sold in stores on a rare occasion I've bought some of the real honey at those craft fairs

Hi Randy well mate another good video on bee removal very informative but i have a couple of suggestions you may be interested in no 1 the next time you play with a spider pick it up mate orb weavers are not deadly the other suggestion is include your missus more often in your videos that way your subscribers not only get to see a excellent video on bee removal but they get to see a shortened video on a beauty and the beast cheers .

Hey, my wife is no beast! ;) I might try picking up one of those but I have a spider bite on my thigh that is still healing up after three weeks. Not sure what kind of spider it was though.

When do you normally make and have honey for sale? I just love watching your videos, also it is just wonderful to see the La landscape. Thank you.

I've watched some of your videos and you maybe have explained, but I missed it.... What do you do with the Brood from the hives you remove?

Depending on the time of year I frame it up in a hive or melt it down.

12:01 I think the problem isn't the 500lb limit but the 250lb even distribution. Im guessing Mr. Randy might be a little over 250lb
