Stuff like this triggers me. I was in a relationship and cheated. The relationship wasn’t the best but I had no right to do so and I promised to be and do better if given the chance. I got the chance but unfortunately it opened up the door to me getting assaulted several times mid argument and it being justified because I cheated months prior. I think if someone cheats it's better to just end the relationship. Not cause the cheater can't change or do better, but cause now the whole dynamic is weird and uneven and normally cheating is the result of some emotional\psychological need going unfulfilled. For example if you feel like your partner doesn't listen/validate you it can lead to you trying to fill that need from someone who will listen/validate you. This will lead to getting closer to that person and boom now you might have romantic feelings/thoughts about someone other than your partner. 2) I added that to lend credibility to myself that I know how these relationships break down.
