Good job!!! As a former printshop owner I can appreciate everything you are saying. All the customers want there jobs yesterday. Looks like you have a efficient and tidy shop and looks like you do good maintaining your equipment. My Father always said take good care of your equipment and it will take good care of you. Must be nice to run the shop by your self, that is one of the reasons I sold my shop was after 25 years in business and 50+ employees it just wore me down mentally. Your $300 a day in electric is awesome we were right at that but ours was $300 daily plus $200+ daily for Natural gas as well. People used to ask all the time what it takes to be a millionaire in printing, I used to say it's easy start with 2 million. Having fun watching your channel, Keep up the good work.

Anyway, my original comment I was having a laugh with you not at you, I know how it is in the printing industry and I was just sharing my experience, as a kid out of high school I did it the way I was told to do it, I was just saying I've never had the luxury of using a padding press.... I got a great tip from you when you installed the new press into the network. Thank you! I will share with you a way to have a stress-free environment. Oftentimes things work better backwards from what most people do. Many people have a business idea, for example, and create the product, then they do advertising and then figure out how to ship it, but when the demand is much greater than expected, they can't follow through with orders. Are you ready for all your orders before you advertise? You have extra waste toner bottles handy. Already ahead of the game. Great!

Such a cool find. Started out as employee in small high speed and offset shop 22 years ago. Worked there for 12 years till business was sold, and hopped around some other shops. Now work in wide format printing (sign shop). Couldn't be more bored and unchallenged with my time. One thing I would say about the Konica Minolta compared to Xerox, Ricoh, and Cannon printers. Thought their solid fill coverage was consistently better. Looking forward to watching the past and future videos.

For a stress free business my friend. Follow these steps. 1. ALWAYS KNOW YOUR PRODUCTION CAPACITY (per day/week/month/year) 2. WHILE TAKING ORDERS KEEP IN MIND THE PRODUCTION CAPACITY U ARE LEFT WITH. AND NEVER EXCEED IT. 3. MAKE SURE YOU KEEP ESSENTIALS FOR SMOOTH RUNNING OF YOUR MACHINES READY. 4. ALWAYS KEEP AN EXTRA OF EVERYTHING FOR RISK COVERAGE. THE MOST MOST IMP. 5. KEEP SMILING BUDDY, IT'S REALLY FANTASTIC THAT YOU ARE ALIVE SO FAR. WHILE EVERYDAY MANY LOOSE THEIR LIVES. I have to confess to surprise that you seem to like the Konicas. I run a Accuriopress C2070 with IC 417 and not too happy with it. I used to run a Xerox Versant 3100 and thought it was so much faster and consistent with color and registration. This machine has been very inconsistent with both. I will run a couple thousand sheets and have to continually check, especially for magenta shifting dark or issues with black. It also takes a really long time to warm up even when I ran a job less than an hour before. Makes me wonder if it's my machine alone.
@justaprinter4 жыл бұрын
Hmm, maybe I should consider a Xerox machine, they do make nice stuff. Color can shift sometimes, its not too bad though.
@tonyvitale3284 жыл бұрын
@@justaprinter Maybe it's just the set up on my machine. The IC-417 (which you noted that the Konica IC addition is isn't necessary in an episode.) Plus, this is the first machine I have used with an integrated Fiery. Previously, I've used the full on stand alone Fiery server with more options for me to control. But the Versant I ran was so sweet with calibrating color, registration and a host of other options to control and deal with problems. I'm sure it was more expensive, but I also very much like how easy it was to do maintenance and replacement of parts.

The extra copies that you accidentally made, why did you waste them? Why not ask the client if they want them? Maybe offer them at a massive discount or even at cost? Be better to at least get use out of them than just toss them in the recycle bin. Plus, could have boosted your image for the client and got you some repeat business or even new customers. At the least, if they were only single sided, why not make scratch pads out of them? That's what the print shops in my area typically do.

I will sometimes do this depending on the customer. But I typically don't like to waste their time since they didn't order my mistake. :)

Imagine if you had to do all that using offset.

Oh man! I'd still be running it. Sometimes I miss the offset press though.
