Good advice about the food bag. I have a range a 1/4 mile from my house. I would have never thought about this. Thanks.

Just did my first big match and saw lots of guys with 4 wheel carts to carry their gear to different stages.

Thanks for this series! Very Informative. Quick question on eye protection. My prescription glasses have safety rated lenses, are they sufficient or will a set of dedicated safety glasses over my eye glasses be needed?

Technically - you'd want full coverage safety glasses - practically speaking you can wear your typical eyewear. The risk is yours from a piece of frag coming back - I saw a guy take some frag in the neck from some falling steel stand and he ended up having to go to the ER and get stitched up.... if the match doesn't use static steel you're probably OK.

I'm also in GA and am considering getting into the sport. I just watched an event at Big Woods Goods with the Triforce Practical Shooters and it looks very fun (and intimidating). Being that I have never done this before, do you think I could be competitive or at least learn good form with a Glock 19 or should I go ahead and invest in a full size pistol?

So not to be discouraging - but it will be a long time before it’s the gun holding you back. I think it would be wise to get some 140mm magpie magazines - 1 will work for now- and start shooting limited minor. You can make C or B just with a Glock 19 if you have the right software. Beyond that point you are clearly dedicated enough to justify a purpose built game gun. If you cannot hold a 2” group at 10 yards- it’s unlikely buying a gun will change that radically. Shoot what you have and see if it’s for you- you will be more than fine casually shooting a G19. Once you catch the bug and you are shooting a couple matches a month do some soul searching - pick a division and invest in hardware.

+younggunner89 was using the Ghost Stinger, now using the BSPS Boss holster. I would go that way or with the red hill tactical one.
