So why not just go right to having a lawyer petition the court as the first and only option? Wait times are DEFINITELY too long everywhere in the U.S.!

My family and I are Canadian, the economy and government here has become absolutely horrible. Everyone is losing everything they have ever worked for or barely hanging on. Retirement is no longer a thing as nobody can afford to not be working. My family and I are interested in migrating to Italy and becoming citizens in the next few years. My husband wants to open his tiling business in Italy (he owns one here in Canada) and I wish to maybe own a house with a vineyard and some property to host weddings and receptions and other beautiful events. Are these just pipe dreams or would we be able to do so because we would be investing in Italian property and economy by opening up jobs? Would it help with obtaining our citizenship faster?

Thank you gentlemen. This was very helpful. I have already obtained all of the documents but one. The letter from U.S. immigration stating that my mom never became a U.S. citizen. Been waiting nearly two years. Her last Italian passport was issued when I was 17. Could that be used in place of the letter?

That letter should only take 2-3 months max. You should request it again

I recently registered with ICA. So far the team have been very responsive, efficient and helpful. Mine is a 1948 case through the courts. I assume the court will be Torino as my great grandfather was born in Piedmont right on the Swiss border. I'm guessing fewer people emigrated from Piedmont (Sicily, Lombardy and Naples being more common) - I am wondering if this is an advantage for me or not. Is the court in Torino slow or fast - does anyone know? Thanks

Some of us think it would be a blessing waiting for the paperwork etc. in Italia that is, my question is what if you don't find all the paperwork needed to finish your citizenship process, will the clerks say in Rovigo be able to assist you in finding what else you may need? P. S. Some of us know the cities involved in the cities say Carlentini, California and in Omaha? But some of the cities may be a new surprize? What say you all?

Can an "Apostille" cover a group of documents or each requires its own?..for instance the same qualified translator handles 15 separate certificates and applies a cover Apostile for the total amount..Thank you for your response 😊

Does the “date of declaration “ of my grandfather’s petition for naturalization count or is it just crucial that my father was born prior to my grandfather’s actual date of naturalization? They aren’t the same thing- is that correct? Thank you

My Father was born in 1932 in NY - his father’s “date of naturalization” is 1944. Does this make me eligible?

​@@Lulu-kt6grI'm sure you may have your answer by now since it's been a month, but the answer is 'yes' - you qualify. It's not the intention to naturalize date that counts, but rather the ACTUAL naturalization date.

Only if they became American citizens. Many remained legal aliens.

Those who are going to use Los Angeles=there are moving location, 12124 Wilshire Blvd. Los Angeles 90025 from what I've read, this was as of September 1st I would call or check the computer for verification!
