I had rented a labradar several months ago and checked the velocity of several rifles/loads, 222 up to 300wm. All read with no issues and without really having to precisely aim the labradar; except for the 300wm. This rifle has no muzzle device whatsoever. I didn't spend much time trying to get a reading because I had an estimated velocity using Strelok. I have since bought my own (gently used) Labradar, and will definitely consider this video if I have any problems! Thanks!

Thanks so much for making this video! I just got a brand new LabRadar and I had trouble with a 6.5 PRC with a suppressor. Went by the book and only acquisition errors. Finally, with only 3 rounds left, I moved it to the left side of my muzzle and it worked for the last 3 shots. I was using a camera tripod but looks like I need to order the small Labrador tripod. Thanks so much for making this video-very helpful!

Regarding the LabRadar unit, I've talked to guys who have the device. Two of the three were having some problem with it, so I waited for a company-made unit without all the operating problems, the Garmin Xero C1 Pro; I have watched more than ten videos - short story, I got the Garmin, and it is costly at $599.99, so what. It is my fifth chronograph. I know that it's not mine, but if it was, I would sell it, take that money, and buy Garmin.

I also have an X1 Chronograph and I love it. At first I was going to sell the lab radar but I decided to keep it.

Grab one of the triggers like I had in the video, you will REALLY thank yourself, especially when using a suppressor.

A friend of mine had similar experience. With 308, everything OK, with its .338LM, not good record, until he installed it above his gun... Small table just obove the line of sight. Problem solved

I've been a heavy user of the Lab Radar for years. I've only experienced a few problems with capturing a .308 suppressed. Never found a fault when shooting my Win Mag with a break or can attached. But I solved 99.9% of the few problems I had with the Lab Radar when I purchased the Garmin.

Yeah, I have a Garmin too and it’s amazing!

It is quite possible that the trees to the right of your position were causing the muzzle brake discharges to swirl back, in the same way that a solid fence (as opposed to a wind-break fence with proper gaps between palings) can create significant problems with wind eddies on both sides of the fence.
@dexterous2000 Жыл бұрын
I wondered if that would be an issue at the start but so far after I haven’t had any problems with the branches. I do trim the trees at least once or twice per year to keep things opened up. At this point I’ve tracked thousands of shots with my lab radar, I use it multiple times per week and I never have any issues at all.

The guy that help me with my load developments, he made a 4 legged stand where we can set the Lab radar above the rifle with a trigger sensor and I have never had a shot not register

Garmin is making a new chronograph that is excellent, the size of your cell phone.

Yep, I have one of those too

Also get a trigger activator for the labrador.

Wer you have it sitting now it is picking up before the trees.

Number one its not close enough to the barrel and has to be pointing either straight at the target or to the oppisit side of were the bullet will trvel.

I’ma new Labradar user too. 2 range sessions, public range 1 hour away and I’m disgusted with the results. Velocities given by the Labradar seem Way off - meaning 2400fps for a factory Hornady 6.5 creedmoor- box states 2700 … and I used 2700fps in Trasol on the range perfectly to 1 shot point of sun, point of impact on targets from 100 yards to 600 yards in 100 yards increments . So I know 2400fps as shown by Labradar is not accurate

This was even after adding the a new JK microphone - Labradar setup on a full-size tripod to right of rifle , rifle is braked, Labradar appears useless. Now I’ll try shooting under the tripod in between the legs. And I’ll do a head to head for the Magneto speed V3 that own -
@dexterous2000 Жыл бұрын
Do you have access to another chronograph to validate the speed? I’d move the unit like I did, further away from the blast. I’ve not seen issues with accuracy unless it’s not reading or not set correctly. You’re on the rifle setting, right?

If you buy a 6.5 you either can't save money. You don't make enough money. Or you have a secondary weapon to make app for the 6.5 chump of a gun.

Did you set the trigger distance in the setup menu? Think the options are 6, 12, 18” etc….? If so, did it make a difference?

Sure did

Did you really get 3400 fps with 220gr pills?
@dexterous2000 Жыл бұрын
Ha, no, those were the FMJs I spoke about at the end of the video. They are 150gn and I use them for warmers.

Tom, I see you have a trigger mounted for the labradar. Were you still having errors using the trigger?
@dexterous2000 Жыл бұрын
The trigger helped a lot. I have virtually zero missed shots and everything has been working great.

@@dexterous2000So was it the positioning of the unit or the triggering device that solved the problem?
@dexterous200010 ай бұрын
@@tudyk21 It was both. Even with the unit perfectly aimed, it didn’t register 10-20% of my shots. I figured out the aiming pretty well (display said the signal was great) and the trigger resulted it 99% of all shots being recorded.
