Getting Our Spiritual Bearings

Paul wrote to the early church in Philippi to help them get their spiritual bearings amid a crooked and twisted generation. Today’s world is similarly warped, seeking to dethrone God in favor of selfish pursuits and nebulous beliefs. Reminding us of our true identity in Christ, Alistair Begg warns believers not to be passive. Instead, we are to stand firm in one Spirit, strive side by side for the faith of the Gospel, and shine in the midst of the world’s darkness.

Wow! Pastor Begg, you spoke right to my heart, through the word, about the confounding and absolutely abysmal spiritually devoid times we live in. Many modern church services and teachings, as you know, have hacked, distorted, and bent the word to be culturally acceptable. And it is to me, profoundly alarming and disturbing. You continue to restore my hope, and demonstrate a wonderful, credible faith in Christ Jesus, helping me to fortify my faith. You give such a much needed clarity by your teaching. Even in our own families, as my husband and I, with 3 grown children who have chosen to cut themselves away from us for we will not pat them on their backs and compromise on their willful, sinful life choices, all for the sake of having relations, a very. very difficult path we are on, yet, a deep lesson for us, we have Jesus our Lord and Savior, his Holy Spirit living in us and God our Father in heaven, shall never leave us nor forsake us, and learning that the 3 in 1 is all we have, we have all we need to see us through each day. Today’s culture is determined to be the new way to replace God in the creation story. It’s A desire to be the powers behind creating people, their core being and their image. If the people of today can speak a new type of person into existence by use of words - they have succeeded in their own eyes, at replacing the WORD. Jesus is the only way we have been created and will become our true selves.

Phillipians 2 helps explain my coworkers reaction to me, lol, and praise the Lord. They kept saying I was too happy and nice. One said, "How is she so freakin' happy?" I didnt understand why they were so incredibly droopy. We worked with kids. When I worked out my notice recently, they gave me a card with Eeyore saying the sunlight will leave when I do. It's a Christian thing. He not I. I tried to tell two coworkers what I bought into (Christianity). I don't think they believed me though. Father be with them. They really don't understand us at all. And by us, I mean Christ followers that standout. I know a lot of Christians today that don't look different though. Be with all of us, Lord. Came back to add American churches probably aren't much different than European churches. Seriously, the last time I poured my happy self into a children's Sunday school class, I got run out of that church. The church before that was supportive but not all. Not even Christians understand joy anymore. They deem it madness or highly suspicious. I admit I didn't praise leadership because I was busy trying to survive them (or the unclean stuff clinging to them). Sad times.

The thing that confuses me is that mainstream churches while they do generally preach to keep certain Commandments of the Scriptures, when it comes to things like keeping the Sabbath Holy and the Dietary Instructions and the Feast Days somehow those Commandments are done away with. The God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob, and my God too, says His word is eternal. I have been listening to Pastor Begg for a few years now, and while I continue to go to Sabbath service, I certainly appreciate his sermons, and one day it would be very nice to maybe even visit his church.

If you love truth and you pray ask the Lord to show you the truth and if you have the holy Spirit the holy spirit will lead you and guide you into all truth then you'll know whether or not somebody speaking truth why will you die turn to Jesus now and be saved Jesus said when you see me you seen the Father the father and I are one remember Jesus came a little lower to become as man so that he can bear our sins who knew no sin and was sinless so that his blood that was shed would be cleansed for our sins so that we can be forgiven and washed so don't reject the truth receive Jesus and be saved ask the Lord to show you and reveal himself to you he will he is faithful if you really want the truth amen,
