That's what happened to me during leveling in BFA. I used to run quite many Mythic+ in PuG group during Legion, but took a break. Just got in BFA a week ago. During leveling, people would flame and kick me for not knowing an instance inside out the first time I even set my foot in there. I don't pug anymore.

How to keep track of all the stuff going on: 1. Read up on everything each pack does; 2. Understand how and when this can be a problem; 3. Ignore all the stuff that's not relevant to your class/spec/abilities; 4. Place the few remaining bits on a post-it on your screen; 5. Cry your heart out because of all the nice people you play with that didn't do the above; Same is true if you use DBM/BW -> Disable everything, activate only the warnings for stuff you would otherwise miss or could use help with. Less nonsense ("I know I'm standing in shit, shut up") means more brainpower to focus on what's important, like casting Misdirection/Tricks of the Trade on the healer :3.

BFA had gotten a little dull just playing my warrior, but with some of your recent vids, you managed to motivate me to go out of my comfort zones and try a shaman. I'm currently focussing on get her Elemental and Restoration specs up to a decent ilvl. I know shaman isn't the hottest class atm, but I like the fact that they have most of the utilities covered. This video was an excellent example of how to observe problems and trying to figure out how best to tackle them. Great job Mike !

So I actually start resto Druid this expansion and notice you were have the same experience I was. Lifebloom actually blooms earlier if you refresh it 4 sec before it ends. Just that increased my lifebloom uptime, Burst healing, and overall hps. Awesome video

RE: Dispelling instantly, there are even some bait debuffs out there. Where you dispell some weak DoT and then a 15 second polymorph is cast.

I want to recommend a addon called questionably epic dungeons tips. It adds a small window in game and It tells you what every mob and boss does upon targeting it’s also role specific with priority targets. It’s great for newer players and players still learning!! Love your content keep it up dude!

Just a couple of tips for people who wants to perform better in this dungeon :) The Range on the first boss should move outside the ring after the boss dismounts in order to not having to deal with dodging the parrot’s charge ability… This makes the fight alot simpler for range to deal with. On the second boss, make sure you know which boss is friendly so you know which spells will be coming up and which won’t. The third boss. Optimize your time while waiting on either pig, turtle or boss. Make sure to pull trash while waiting for them to spawn. Try and learn to move as a group (if you are range, don't make melee and tank stand with you) on Harlan makes you waste much less space and makes it predictable where you can and can’t stand. This can be practiced very well in M0 with your group if you want to do this. There are ofc more that can be done to optimize this dungeon run but this was just a very brief run down. If anyone have anything to add or see a mistake i made please let me know :)

M+....a place where you can have fun as certain specs and dread it as others.

Unlike Legion, most specs are actually viable now on higher keys since utility (apart from CC for infested mobs) isnt as important now as then and unavoidable 1 shot mechanics are almost non-existent. While some specs bring slightly better utility they arent mandatory and the only spec i would regard as god tier in that department is rogues. Even though Blood DKs are still dominant you can see that the other tanks are almost there and healer balance is 10 times better than in Legion. If your tank pulls accordingly to line up your cds with the bigger pulls then i would say the damage output is pretty even for most specs. The reason why certain classes dont get invited is because 1k score players are looking at what 2k score players are running with and think that comp will give them a massive advantage when in reality +10s are very easy as long as the players know how to handle the infested affix.

@@Brekner Well prot warrior has really been under the radar for awhile now they are just too squishy compared to blood dk but arms still has one of the highest aoe bursts in the game and can pretty much delete mobs every other pull.

@@staropramen478 He never mentioned being Prot. @brekner Catalin. Saying its easier as a ranged is subjective. There are loads of mechanics that interrupt casters, knockback, root, force you to move. As a melee you have to move from certain things such as frontal cleaves, yeah. Coming from a Caster / BM hunter main ( 1.6k score on IO ) Recently switched from BM to survival and im having more fun then i did as BM. Just because youre not in front of mobs doesnt mean you get to slack more :)

I did an m+7 Underrot this week. I was lucky to find a good group of patient people and we had a good dk tank. We did it, nobody left, all the guys stuck around till the end, despite like a million wipes. Whoever made this week's combo is a freaking masochist imo. When we did the final boss, we felt AWESOME. Total feeling of oh yea, victory! And at the same time we did feel frustrated throughout the dungeon.

You should try out the Photosynthesis build, its incredibly strong for tank healing and it frees up globals for DPSing. Lifeboom ends up triggering so much from the multitude of HoTs.

If you're someone who has trouble learning/remembering mechanics, each time you go into a run try to either focus on one mechanic and learn it well, or try to focus on a mechanic you didn't know much about before. Learning is all about focus, if you're able to make a topic important to your brain it will be far more likely to remember it. But it's easy to overload on information so try to take it in a little at a time. And once you know how things work, you'll find it more difficult to be overwhelmed.

real tip, how do you not get overwhelmed as a tank? find a learning group in any number of m+ communities, get a regular team. pull slow and pay attention and get your ui sorted so you can actually see wtf is going on. Elvui puts mob buffs above the name plate in a big way, make it larger if you need to. just make the information clear and available so when you notice it you can react. Big problem with bfa is that the way we interact with these dungeons is via these tiny obscure and (kind of) hidden effects. It's not as obvious to less experienced players to dispel a tiny buff compared to doing an aoe stun that makes all of the mobs on the screen stop moving. Its about information availabilty in the game

Get the Method dungeon tools addon. Shows a detailed map of all the mobs in the dung, right clicking on mobs shows you all their abilities and if they can be CC'd etc.

What really dosen't help is that you can't find what the trash does anywhere in game, you basically don't know about it unless you read a guide, or die/get chunked by it.

Doesn't help your problem of Blizz providing them, but the questionablyepic (I think that's the name) add on will show up a window with important things about the mobs when you mouse over. Sometimes it'll just be "tank damage" and other times it'll be the abilities you NEED to interrupt. Real helpful

Method dungeon tools. You can find out what every mob does in every dungeon, what mobs will be infested, it takes in account affixes, and plan your route with exact percentages. You can also import and export routes.

You don't have to die/get chunked; the entire point of this video was to stress to people the importance of finding out what these mobs do in lower/easier content. You don't have to learn what every mob does in the game by getting hit during a +15 key. Go do a heroic dungeon, where nothing is ever going to one shot or chunk you out, and take the time to learn what mobs do. This is something that more experienced players do during the first week of content (either on the Beta or day one of release). Blizzard shouldn't be expected to tell you everything that is going to happen against every mob, the exact counters to those moves, and the best way to do damage. Hell even when Blizzard provides information (see Dungeon Journal) no one fucking reads that damn thing anyways.

Questionably Epic addon (It is called "QE" in Twitch) will bring up a new tooltip that you can place anywhere you like and will give a detailed description of what each mob does and what spells you should interrupt on that mob or to CC/stun it at what times, including bosses. Would advise for anyone just starting to get into M+. Best of luck everyone.

As a Beast Mastery Hunter people constantly tell me that my class is OP at orbs. "Insta-shots OP" Why? I do 40% of another class' damage, my pet does 60%. My single highest damage ranged ability, Chimaera Shot doesn't even deal damage to explosives. And I just played on a Paladin and my judgment ONE SHOTS THE EXPLOSIVES. Combine that with my farther distance and the target is smaller and borderline unclickable with big mobs around and borderline un-tab-targetable in those cancer 7 mob packs. Hunters are not great at Explosives, damnit.

First boss, the range should stay out of the arena on the backside, no point in wasting the fraction of a second to move, in order to dodge the bird, when you don't have to. Even if the reason you weren't was because of the random insta aoe, the tank should reposition the boss, so you can have an effective spread.

I dont know how you do it with raidframes below your character. i feel like i lose all peripheral vision that way. I always have them vertical and to the right hand side of my character.

It's more for raid healing to minimize where the 20+ frames are. I couldn't imagine trying to heal with 20 frames next to my toon. I also like to integrate my weak auras into a cooldown bar rather than stacking them in multiple columns like he does if that makes sense. Then I put all that slightly below my characters feet so I can still see if im standing in something but can also see stuff to my left and right. As a priest I like to be able to see if I need to grip someone because they're slow on a mechanic or something.

on explosive week, bring a Fury warrior, they can just auto attack the explosive orbs (they auto attack very fast) and its actually a dps increase if they do, because of a talent "War machine"

People who start later in game getting screwed by that learning curve and Blizzard solution of throwing gear at them doesn't help that. For example, did all Mythic 0 on a 1st week they came out, even KR on a last day, and some of them were brutal to learn with 305-315 ilvl in a party, but everyone were cool about it and they knew it was a new thing so mistakes will be made. There were a lot less patience next week, and this is how it starts.

Now back to the topic, the problem is free gear of higher ilvl being given to players who don't deserve it, it creates this artificial sense of "ohh am good I can do high Lvl content now" within the player, and when such players attempt m+7 or higher they get their ass handed to them because as preach said they don't know what is going on with the mobs and boss. My advice to such players is that if you've got a high ilvl gear and if you haven't done any myhtic +, then please start with mythic0 and learn the instances inside out before you move up else you'll get your ass handed to you at m+7 and higher

Hey preach. Now you should maybe do the same with an lower equipped toon in a full pug group on a +10. Because pugging is the real horror and I would really like to know how to adept to that situations. For me pugging is like driving car, expect the other drivers to be the dumbest they possibly can be and try to be prepared :)

Cool video. One thing that did annoy me a bit through your video as a resto druid was that you didn't 'pandemic' your lifebloom. Lifebloom blooms if it expires, or is refreshed in the pandemic timing. You had a cool little weakaura that showed it in its last 5 seconds (Its pandemic timing). As for what you said in general, its all true. A lot of the time and I am guilty of this, is that pride gets in the way. I know what everything does, I know how dangerous things are and that CC would be really good. But people expect everything to be easy so waiting, and asking another player to CC isn't always super easy even though in hindsight it would have changed the entire run.

[EDITED] I don't think I've ever done a mythic, heroic, regular in years. I always skip all dungeons because of the toxic environment they often breed. You get into a group for a dungeon that you've never done before and if you make a mistake you always get that one guy that rips you a new one. And every group has that one guy that thinks that you should be born with the knowledge of everything that will happen in every dungeon in WoW. So I just skip every dungeon because I don't enjoy being yelled at or having to listen to someone else being yelled at and talked about like they are the worst player in the world just because they don't know something they've never encountered before. Ok, I had to edit this because when I said I haven't run any dungeons for years, that wasn't to the most part true. I do run dungeons when I can solo them, especially if they have pets or mounts as rewards. I just don't run dungeons if I have to be with other people. I don't enjoy toxic players.

In normal or hc dungeons noone really cares, if you don't know what to do. I kinda pity you, because dungeons are one of the best things to do in wow for me (apart from raiding and collecting things). I recommend you to be more confident and try out at least normal or hc dungeons. Also another thing, I was afraid too and often annoyed with pug groups, but then I got into a guild. I became friends with a lot of people, who were much more patient with me than randos (before this I barely knew anyone in the game). Thanks to this, later I got into higher difficulty dungeons and now in bfa I regularly run higher (10+) mythic+ keys. Being in a guild can boost your confidence and make you a more skilled player without being frustrated. It made the game so much more fun for me.

Here's my small question not deserving its own video that I can't be arsed to head to Twitter for: how do I tell when the mechs in Motherlode are going to do their disorient? As a tank I'll be fighting them and then just randomly get disoriented without them using any ability or anything beforehand. Is there any tell, or do you just have to accept that while fighting mechs you're going to eat disorients as the tank?

If you dance from left to right wide enough eventually the mech will stop tracking you. During that he is casting the disorient on you. Just move behind him when he stops tracking your movements.

In your graphic settings there should be one called projected environmental/ground effects, turn this on and it will give you an orange swirly for those mechs.

Good Video. Ya I love that difficulty jump around 10+ this week. Mythic 9 or 10+ Storm, at twin tentacles and the add pack before the final 2 bosses... All the cool-downs , Hero, all the healer CD's too? Why the hell? that trash was a Mythic raid boss

If the tank stays in Meele range of the tentacles, they dont colossal smash, therefore they arent doing any AoE dmg to the group.

I usually pay attention to my surroundings but those damned bananas in SoB get me every fucking time. I dodge the first one, and when they throw the second one i step into one that was thrown before. Also, the first mobs in King's Rest. I keep underestimating the range of that cone. Don't know if they don't have a size indicator, or if my graaphics settings are too low, but sometimes i am just 1 or 2 steps too close :(
