Hey guys! This is a really special episode and I'm happy to present it on the official channel with this extended cut. Dad recorded this during a scary time, and Gamecube helped distract us from all the chaos. Have any great Gamecube launch memories? Let me know in the comments. Thanks everyone.

Amazing clip the extended cut is more wholesome idd. GC was such a great console in EU where I'm from it launched around April to May 2002 but be4 that we were graced to witness Luigis Mansion in our local video games store ( the Japanese version) we were blown away by the gfx and gameplay LM wasn't Mario 64 but it certainly had its own unique powerful formula going on for it and at that time it was just amazing to see the leaps in visuals every new system was light years ahead..Later we bought the Pal version of the game when we finally got the system. Amazing console worth every penny. Your Dad was amazing!

No hope in going to the past come to the loving savior today Seek his Holy Spirit in prayer today he can give you peace confort and guidance today Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Come to Jesus Christ today Jesus Christ is only way to heaven Repent and follow him today seek his heart Jesus Christ can fill the emptiness he can fill the void Heaven and hell is real cone to the loving savior today Today is the day of salvation tomorrow might be to late come to the loving savior today John 3:16-21 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. Mark 1.15 15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel. 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Hebrews 11:6 6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Jesus

I know it's been said a trillion times but as someone who's real dad was never around I am constantly jealous of the relationship you and your dad had. Gaming together and documenting almost all of it is just amazing. Maybe I shouldn't say jealousy because I am truly happy you got to experience it. Just wish it could have been my dad! This may get my Nintendo fan card revoked but I've never actually played Luigi's mansion.. I was a bit younger than you at the time (just turned 11) and had gotten a PS2 that year and was well into becoming a huge Sony fan. I still loved Nintendo I just didn't play GameCube until my stepdad got one so he could play Metroid Prime. We never really gamed together but I did eventually play a few games like Mario Kart and Wind Waker/Twilight Princess when it came out (much prefer it to the Wii version). Never actually played Mario Sunshine, either. It was a weird time in my life lol. Sometimes it's a bit painful for me watching how close you and your dad were but that's just the immaturity and jealousy coming out because I wanted that so badly with my dad. I quickly get over it and get happy because you deserved it man. And your dad was just an awesome guy. Thanks for the nostalgia trips. Hope all is well.

I remember saving up and buying a Nintendo Gamecube - I was 17 and had a job that allowed me to save up and get it. It was the first console I bought with my own money and I was so excited with getting it that I forgot to buy a memory card! I had rushed home to play Resident Evil and got pretty far in it. I didn't want to stop playing but I knew that I was getting to a point where I needed to save so that I wouldn't lose my progress. I had to suck it up and run back to the store, my console still running with Jill waiting patiently in a safe room. It was one of my favorite consoles that I still regret trading in many years ago. The Star Wars Rogue Squadron games, the Resident Evil games, the Metal Gear Solid remake, all were glorious. In college, we all huddled around the TV to play Resident Evil 4, perhaps the best RE game ever to date. I love these videos you upload, it transports us back to those simpler times. You and I are roughly in the same age, but my father had passed away when I was really young. I'm hoping that when my son is old enough to create memories like this you had with your dad!

I do believe this was my favorite generation of consoles. Such an exciting time. I graduated HS in 2001, and was going to College/Dorm Room in the fall of 2001. I was in my dorm for 9-11. Everything was cancelled on campus for 2-3 days. I had a PS2 first, XBOX 2nd, and a GameCube last. I've always found myself leaning towards the "underdog" when it comes to consoles. The PS2 was fantastic for the first 2-3 yrs. Then I got into the XBOX, which by 2002/3 had really turned it up. It looked so much better than anything else, and XBOX Live was just the coolest thing (I wish I could relive those early XBOX Live lobbies playing PGR2, Rainbow6, etc.) I finally got a GC in 2003 or so, and it quickly became my 3rd party machine. I loved it. It was right in the middle of the PS and XBOX in terms of power/graphics. The GameCube controller is STILL my favorite controller of all time. It doesn't look like it would be good at all, but it simply melts in my hands.

This vid brought up many emotions for me. Firstly, i adore your dad. He seemed like a genuine, loving, sensitive, fun guy and I'm so sorry you lost him too soon. My father died when i was 13 in 1995, so i know what it's like to lose a wonderful dad. Watching your dad interact with you helps me to imagine what life might've been like if he hadn't died. Secondly, I'd completely forgotten that the GC was released around the time of 9/11. That churned my stomach. It's one of those moments you'll always remember. I was 19 and getting ready for work that day. It was so surreal. I live on the west coast, but i sobbed my eyes out when all the names of the deceased were read on TV. Thirdly, seeing the joy on your face as you first opened the contents and played on the cube reminded me of how excited my sister and I were that Xmas when mom got us the system from Costco. I still have it, actually, and all the games we got. :) Such an amazing console. Thank you for sharing these hone videos with us. They felt so warm and homely. ❤

When I was 19 in 2001, I was at an Army PX with a man who WOULD HAVE been my father-in-law. He was looking at hunting and fishing gear, and I was going on about the Gamecubes that were in stock. He didn't like me.

Powerful video, man. Yes, I remember the feeling at that time, so well. It felt so dark, everywhere you turned. Even games were hard to get into, at least for me, personally. There just seemed like so much fear and hopelessness in everyday life. But sometimes a game, or a movie, or even a good music album could still just transport you from all the pain and fear and connect with your soul.

I was lucky enough to visit Japan exactly after the Wii came out there before it came to the west and there was something magical about playing it before I knew others in Europe or North America could. Thanks for triggering this memory for me!

I remember playing the GameCube with my cousin at our grandma’s after we finished school playing smash bros, and now I’m a dad playing on a Nintendo switch with my little girl. It never leaves you gaming, you can’t beat that feeling of getting a new console. Great video 👍

I think on scale of 1-10 for cool dads I think your dad was about 1000! 😂🙌 did he know by recording all this that one day it would make you a star on KZbin, me thinks your dad thought out of the box and knew this would be important one day, and he was 100% right! Love all the videos you’ve uploaded absolutely amazing! 👏

Great video as always 👍. You're dad was super cool. I remember that time. 9/11 was like nothing I had seen, wasn't sure how to react to it at the time as it was so unreal. As for the GameCube, I remember not being so excited for this one but it grew on me over time. F-Zero GX and Resident Evil were a couple of my favourites. My fiancé however loves the thing! She recently had to sell her launch system due to a rough financial situation but we got past that. Little does she know I've bought her a new(ish!) one for her birthday next month and copies of Pikmin and Luigis Mansion. Next month will be awesome 👌.

Only Jesus Christ blood can cleanse us of are sins come to Jesus Christ today Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Come to Jesus Christ today Jesus Christ is only way to heaven Repent and follow him today seek his heart Jesus Christ can fill the emptiness he can fill the void. The Holy Spirit can lead you guide and confort you through it all Heaven and hell is real cone to the loving savior today Today is the day of salvation tomorrow might be to late come to the loving savior today John 3:16-21 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Jesus
