Getting Started with Fusion 360 Part 5 - Using the EXTRUDE, SWEEP, and REVOLVE Tools!

In this video, we talk about 3 tools that can create extruded shapes inside of Autodesk Fusion 360. The Extrude tool can extrude shapes along a straight line, the sweep tool can extrude shapes along paths, and the revolve tool creates 3D objects from 2D profiles.

The beginner series has been great! I'd LOVE to see more on how to add ribs to an object, and apply materials to a design. I've seen other videos, but honestly, they tend to fly through it.

Finally made a funnel using the revolve tool. Great video. Sometimes it's a bit fast and I gotta go back several times to see what you were doing. Need something showing how to connect lines and fix errors on shapes. I had trouble getting the shape closed and I tried to add lines but it didn't always work to close the shape.

This was incredible, thank you! I found this really helpful. Only thing is that some parts were too fast. For instance, when you used the sweep tool, it took me forever to replicate the shape you used in your demo and then to create the path, but you did in like two seconds.

Justen, Im super green to 360 and I like the way you explain things (Thank You). My project is for a 3D printer/Plastic and it requires square holes cut out of the center of squares and round holes of 3 (For switches) cut equally across the bottom of a square and not centered. Can you make a tutorial on these kinds of cuts and being centered or offset? Thanks!

As luck would have it my internet is down today. So I spent the morning just going through all the menus instead of following along with the menus and selections of the videos. Things started making sense. One thing I discovered related to a question I asked is that under the insert menu you can add a decal or a canvas. Using this I’ve experimented with labeling surfaces and bodies. It’s not as good as creating a callout would be but it’s a way get labels.

Nice Video! ❓ Is there a way in Fusion360 to easily make an extrude from two sketch-faces which are rectangular to each other? I have a furniture and made 2 sketches (one in top-view and one in front-view) with a lot of faces. It would be really helpful if there is a way to make bodies from where those faces would intersect. (Without the need of extrude both faces very long, make a combine-intersect afterwords and delete the not needed bodies. Because there are a lot of bodies to create this way and this would take too long!) I hope my idea is clear what and why I want to do that. Thank you very much!

for the revolve tool, the object you created has a curved line on the curved surface which ive been searching for a while to see if it could be removed without removing the other lines, is it possible?

Do you do work for hire? I’ve got a design to create that needs an easy way to adjust some key points. I’d like to do it myself but it’s too important to be amateur.
