We used needles in my high school art class, I did some killer whales for my project. My teacher advised me that it might not be a good idea trying to depict water. It turned out great

It's funny, because my project in college was do do an aquatic scene on scratchboard, so I did an otter chasing a fish with lots of bubbles, it turned out great.
