Just bought a second hand one and even though it's been thoroughly used I could not find any wear. A good wash and it's as good as new. Just goes to show what a quality product you've managed to design and produce :) Well done.

@9barista William, I prepare my coffee 1:1 as you have demonstrated. Just a small addition from my side. When cleaning my 9barista after use, I always push out the filter basket 5-6 mm (with my finger, through the hole of the portafilter). This way, the water rinses well the space under the portafilter, where otherwise remains some espresso residue (check and you will see for youself!). I love my 9barista and almost never go anywhere without it and my trustworthy hand grinder.

Awesome device, it's an art piece born from pure engineering. Getting boiling water to cool water for coffee is so fancy. Though when you grind too fine, you will experience the safety valve blow and it's scary :) If you clog moka pot, it just hisses at you. This one packs some punch and steam, so be wary where the safety valve is pointing at.

Love the 9Barista, however you need an Australian agent as the shipping is a killer. Close to $1,000 AUD landed.

I just received mine yesterday evening and this morning made a decent espresso on my second try. The first try didn't produce any espresso. At first I assumed this was because I'd ground too finely, but upon inspection the grounds weren't wet, so since the water wasn't even reaching them that couldn't have been it. Per the troubleshooting guide, the answer was I needed to increase the heat on the next try. Even at max heat for that burner it took 8:30 to finish, which made me a little nervous that I'd overheat the chimney and internal parts, but it seems ok. I'll try a hotter burner next (if I have one.) The device is as beautiful as I was hoping. I'm looking forward to mornings a lot more now! Edit: Third try on highest heat was perfect!

Excellent, increasing the heat setting is the most common solution if the machine isn't producing espresso. Delighted to hear all is working well and you're enjoying your machine!

Love my new 9Barista. It makes very good espresso. If I get the coffee is right, IMO, it is better than a traditional espresso machine. Also, it's not a difficult as some say, got it right the first time. Agree with one of the comments a steamer. Thanks for the video! I didn't know I could just run it under water right after use!

Can you do a video highlighting your Nomadic Travel Bag?

Just bought one last week. I had to use portable gas stove because its way more consistent than the electric one. My only issue is that I cant seem to have the crema I see in the videos.. the coffee I’m getting is just black. Any suggestions will be appreciated!

Hi there! We can certainly help you with getting good shots out of the machine. If you're only getting black liquid out of it, then 99% of time, it because either the coffee is stale, or it's being ground too coarse. We do have guidance on how to do this on our website. There's a video at the bottom of the page showing how to re-assemble a machine, which might also be useful. I hope that helps! 9barista.com/a/knowledge-base/instructions/disassembly

Really nice piece of engineering, would buy if there where no plastic... Is that grounds cap really necessary ? I think we could just lock the upper system while upside down (then turn it again)
@karlschmidt725810 ай бұрын
Ditch the plastic grounds cap for a nice laser cut stainless disc commensurate with the rest of the machine…and maybe a higher tech, non staining, non burning, non absorbent handle instead of the wood…

Such an awesome espresso maker! Would absolutely love to try it! I am massive mokka pot fan, not that the mokka pot deserves any energinering recognition compared to this, but I suppose some inspiration came from the mokka pot. Already got the c40 and red clix, but this is just out of the budget.. At least for now.. As with any good espresso maker😢 Any giveaways coming up? 😅🙏

With 18-19 grams I get sour tasting shots, and I’ve tried already few types of locally roasted beans. And 9bartista is recommending even 20 grams? I’m not a pro, but isn’t it rather logical to reduce the dose, so that the grind size can be also reduced for a less sour shot?
@9baristaespresso28 күн бұрын
It certainly true that lower doses can give better results, depending on the coffee you're using and how it's ground. You're doing the right thing by trusting you tastebuds. Dropping the does and/or grinding finer should increase extraction levels which should offset the sour notes.
@ememe1412 Жыл бұрын
Im sure I can get an espresso machine for less. But really though, I'm going to get this just because of the clever applied British engineering.

Love the product, it is amazing, but... as a student I think I will keep my Moka Pot... I know there is a ton of patents but too much expensive for me. But it is amazing... a good expresso without a big machine... .

So, I realize it's just me foolishly instinctively expecting shipping to be included with the purchase price of a $500 stovetop espresso maker, but I was just now going through the purchase process and was so thoroughly bothered by needing to add another $45ish to the order that I wound up cancelling the order. Just a comment.

@lawingnam Жыл бұрын
May I know how fine you suggest I should grind my coffee?
@9Barista Жыл бұрын
This will depend on the coffee beans and the grinder, but we recommend starting on the coarser end of espressos. The aim is a grind size that results in an extraction time of 25-30 seconds. If it's faster than this, grind a bit finer, and if it's slower than this, grind a bit more coarsely.

How long 9barsita should be working without any problems?
@9baristaespresso4 ай бұрын
If you're careful to make sure you don't leave the machine on the heat after it's made a coffee, then it should last for many hundreds or even thousands of cycles, before any o-rings likely need replacing.
@rromanlaurr4 ай бұрын
While this is an excellent introductory video, I believe the 9B instructions specifically tell you not to put the machine back on the heat after extraction.
@9baristaespresso3 ай бұрын
You're absolutely right. You'll notice that the gas is turned off when the machine us placed back on the heat transfer plate, which is perfectly fine.

Can 9barista make a 50-60 ml of espresso? I really like the machine, but 40ml is a bit too short for me.
@9baristaespresso Жыл бұрын
The machine is configured to produce 40ml of espresso, and this can't be changed. If you want a longer drink, adding a dash of hot water to the espresso works well.

How can we prove that the 9barista can actually produce 9 bars of pressure with proper and standardized pressure and temperature test curve charts? Since it's a product of science, which is rigorous, is there a video demonstrating the pressure and temperature tests? Even cars have detailed crash test data. It would be great if 9barista could provide a video test for scientific validation. Thank you.
