Excellent Video.. Like the tip on the piano wire lining up the offset hinges.. very nice.. and the vent in the back is a must.. Maybe put a screen like you did on the inlets :)

Great work; guess its the Ulti-Ultimatum! Hell of a work on those lights and gear doors. Learning a lot, THANKS in that. Well, Andrés does build well too 😂

Thank you Adrian! Yea the Doors and Lights are adding a lot of time and complexity to this U2 BUT. It will be a sweet aircraft!
@Sluf7 Жыл бұрын
Very nice Jon sure is a beauty everything on her looks fast. Been good to see how you got the doors done. One thing have noticed people tend to go overboard on the resin application your system was nice and light. I am off to local Jet jam this weekend should be a hoot.Keep at it Chap ;0)
@thelightersideofrc Жыл бұрын
Thanks Nick! Yea it's very easy to over apply. Especially if your doing a repair on the aircraft from the inside. The upcoming last episode will be 75% finishing the doors and 25% the rest of the aircraft.

First, want to thank you for the advice on the Solder Sticks. They are making my life so much easier. Second, once you put the notches in for the front hinges, it looks like now you have some room to run piano wire. Was that just an illusion due to camera angle, or giving the extra movement allowed access to the upper holes?
@thelightersideofrc Жыл бұрын
Awesome! Glad you like them! Piano wire could have been used from the beginning if all the holes are left in place on the offset hinges initially. With the setup on this U2 you have a good visual on the lineup of the hinges so I didn’t need to use the piano wire in this case. When we get to the mains in the next episode you will see me use a wire to get the pivot points installed.

Hello to the “Jet-Father”! I was wondering if you have a preference on the Jeti Assist vs Cortex. I know you appear to prefer the cortex but…why?
@thelightersideofrc Жыл бұрын
HAHA. Thanks Dave! That made me LOL. I prefer Cortex. Simply because i've never used the Assist yet. So not fair to comment on the difference/comparisions. The cortex is extremely simple and intergrates very well. Downside to the Cortex lately is lack of availiability.

I am trying to find out the video that you talked about of why did you jump the Steering in with the brake in.
@thelightersideofrc7 ай бұрын
Ohhh. Thats a while ago. What we do now with Jeti is run the nose through the cortex system. I believe with the GS200 it's explained in the manual. If using the BUS System for signals, then the steering system will need a power source.

Will you integrate also the remote switch?
@thelightersideofrc Жыл бұрын
Hey Juergen. Absolutely. I like to do it as one of the last steps with most setups as it's one less thing hanging and dangling off off things. In this case, the remote switch integrates with the SBEC.
@juergenweichenberger Жыл бұрын
@@thelightersideofrc Thought so too. Avoiding the additional chaos.

Nice unit. Missing a plug. AeroPanda will send out tomorrow. It will look pretty in there.
@motorcyclenut1 Жыл бұрын
Hey Jonathan I noticed the back side of the UAT is missing a seal plug, I purchased the same exact one from aeropanda, I talked to Danny and he sent me a new plug for free because it's supposed to be supplied with the UAT. it will leak if you don't plug the hole. Don't ask me how I found out.
@thelightersideofrc Жыл бұрын
Weird. It looks like it's just aluminum in the opening and it's all sealed. Is this how yours was?
@motorcyclenut1 Жыл бұрын
@The Lighter Side Of RC yes, it needs a plug . I was checking my fuel system and as I was filling it up I noticed some full dripping from the hole so I called Danny at aeropanda and he told my it should have been sent with the UAT
@motorcyclenut1 Жыл бұрын
Your doing an awesome job on that jet, you don't want a fuel leak inside that fuselage

Are you not using a separate turbine battery to save weight? Is it ok to split power from one battery powering the servos and the turbine?
@thelightersideofrc Жыл бұрын
Hey Karl. 1 battery to power turbine and system on the aircraft. 1 battery just for the lights. As long as you use quality equipment and a quality battery it will work great! Will use a 50-60C battery
@karlhines82 Жыл бұрын
Awesome thanks, interesting that is smart. Then you can really get some light high capacity batteries and simplify the install even more. Welp i will do that on my rebel max. Looking at pulling power for the landing gear from the central box battery connections.
@thelightersideofrc Жыл бұрын
@@karlhines82 yea I think we have gone a bit excessive in the battery world. Obviously if one feels good having a separate battery for everything than do it! I think back to my ultra flash. A separate battery to run the ER40 gear system. After a weekend of flying would often put less than 100mah back in the battery.
@karlhines82 Жыл бұрын
You yea for sure… the batteries are much better today. I power my lights on my rebel classic with the same battery for my er40 retracts.
