A note for Logan for using a torque wrench. You need to pull the handle towards you, then you have complete control. If you're leaning your weight into it, there's almost no control. Same with busting knuckles. Pulling gives you control, pushing gives you bust knuckles.

In fact I'm replacing the whole rearend after I rebuild the new one in the garage. I wasn't gonna comment until I got about 15 minutes in the video and you said and I quote "roast me in the comments, help the algorithm" lol. So as much as I try not to make fun of people or what they do because they're doing the damn thing ya know? But...lol...at a minute and a half when I seen y'all was cuttin the rim...I was like alright this is gon be an alright video lol. I would've cut the cable above the wheel, they usually fall then. Also to help draining the fluid, take a 3/8 ratchet to the drain plug directly on the bottom of the housing. Other than that man good vids and keep on keeping on lol

The pin is called a c clip retainer, the caps are line bored so you do want keep them on the right sides. And the easiest way to get the ring gear out is to put a old shop rag or t shirt in between the ring and pinion and spin the yoke, it will push the ring gear out. Just so you know for next time.

They're technically supposed to be 13mm, and although everyone believes 1/2 and 13 are the same size (which don't get me wrong, they're interchangeable 99.95% of the time), my diff bolts would try to round off with a 13mm, but ease right off with a 1/2. A case spreader makes this job easy and correct, 98% of people don’t use one. It’s the only way to get proper bearing preload on the carrier bearings. And it makes the differential slide in and out when you spread the case .015. If you can just slide the carrier in the housing, when the bearings break in the diff will be loose.

I just found your channel so I'm not sure if you've changed the exhaust or not but the exhaust from a GMT800 Duramax. I've got an 06 Yukon and I put the exhaust from a 2005 crew cab Duramax 3500 I had. We cut it where the exhaust merge and welded the Duramax exhaust in. We used a Borla X1R oval muffler. It worked perfectly we just needed to add a hanger or two, even with 5" of suspension drop and on 315/35/20 which around 28" tall it didn't rub or contact anything. If I keep it NA I have a Flowmaster 3" to 4" merge to connect to the exhaust. If I go FI the downpipe will obviously connect straight up. Since you wanted this to be a budget build find someone that put an exhaust on their Duramax and scoop it up.
